I’m liking Bastien so far. I think he and Rob will complement each other beautifully. I’m hoping between Rob and Bastien we’ll get more R&B, jazzy, bluesy music. We need to hear Rob get to cut loose more often. I’m seeing them in September, and I’m truly excited. Also, Chance was just goofing around with that high note- it was Bastien.
That high note wasn’t Chance it was Bastien they were goofing around during the making of this video and decided to keep that part in. I guess to give us something else to talk about.
Bastien is from Detroit, MI
Bastien was with Home Free as a sub for a tenor when they first started and also was a member of Chris Rupp’s group 7th ave.
Since there are now 3 Adam’s the are going by last names.
I think he fits in very well with the group.
Adam Chance's last name is not Chance, that is his middle name. Regardless, I love me some Chance.

I think this was a perfect song to introduce Bastien to the folks who weren't familiar with him. I know him from Chris Rupp's old group 7th Ave. This song is perfect for his voice and his personality. Plus expert percussion, as usual. PLUS Gospel Rob. Can't wait to see what's next.

Home Free did a great cover of one of my favorite Bonnie Raitt songs. Bastien's voice was perfect for the lead. Everyone sounded awesome in the background vocals, Rob with his bluesy sound, Tim's bass & Adam's vocal percussion. Looking forward to more of the new songs with the newest member.

Chance was just fooling around with that lip-sync. Those last high notes were actually Bastien.
I’m pretty sure it was Chance. He’s done the high notes before.
@@BettyP1952Nope, it was Bastien. Chance was fooling around lip syncing it, trying to make Rob laugh. They thought it was hilarious and decided to keep it in. It’s all in the BTS video.

Austin is an awesome High Tenor and great flavor and grit kind of voice to take over for - Adam #3 seems up for it. GBjj
Great analysis. Bastien has a style and energy of his own very different from Austin. I like the jazzy bluesy sound to this song. You can already hear the shot in the arm this has given the group. Can't wait for what comes next.

Great reaction! Adam Bastien sang tenor for HomeFree before the sing off. Then when Chris Rupp left to do his own thing, Adam B joined him in 7th Ave Band along with the 3rd Rupp. She is even better than her brothers!! Anyway, 7th Ave is more show tunes and heavy on dancing. The difference in Chris from HF is night and day. They went for another 5 years till Covid. They were excellent! 🎶🥰
Just wanted to see your reaction. I have listened to less than a handful of reactions to this new person. This is definitely not the HF that I fell in love with back in early 2016. Am I pitching a fit like a little kid? Nope, just don’t like this new group or their sound. Not listening to or following Austin either. Hope they all get what they hope for from this change. I know that I am in the very small minority and that’s ok. At my age I know what I like and what I don’t…..

@@JanelleH-k8ethank you….. I will probably go back to listening to the music that was popular before I was born and when I was small. Born in 1961, I like the oldies (oldies for me 😊).
Adam Bastien (bas-TEEN) sang with Home Free on a fill-in basis back when the A-team was on the Sing Off. He's a great fit with the group, both in personality and in sound. This gave them a chance to look for something new, which I am grateful for. I have felt like there was a bit of stale happening in the recent re-recordings. This gave Rob a chance to go low and Chance give us a something to talk about (that was Bastien wailing and Chance to lip sync; but do you really think Chance couldn't do it if he wanted?) while Tim & Rupp gave us the Home Free underpinning.
Ironic that you said “a bit of stale” happening because the first time I watched this video I thought about Austin saying on the Sing Off that the group felt like they were “flat lining” and the Sing Off made them explore new things. As much as I love Austin and still follow everything he does, I do feel like this is an opportunity for Home Free to branch out and try new things….
I agree and of course Chance can sing high, but it's funny that he lip synced that part. He fooled me!

His name is actually pronounced Basteen, not like Sebastian. He had been a member of Home Free before, long ago. He was a member of the 7thAve band, together with Chris Rupp and Tristin Rupp and still is one half of OneUpDuo together with his other half, Jerome Bell-Bastien.
Those high notes you wondered about weren't done by Chance, but he certainly fooled us all.
The song was suggested by Bastien an, in my opinion, the perfect choice to introduce him. I think he'll fit perfectly into the group, and he can be quite silly, too.

Adam IS officially being called by his last name (which you now know how to pronounce...grin), as they have done with Chance ever since he came in. Actually...that high note was NOT Chance (he was messing with the cameramen). Chance could ABSOLUTELY hit and sustain that tone, though.
I had to revamp my Home Free Vocal Ranges Chart, right after this, but it will have to be done again, since no matter how hard I searched (including through Bastien's own site) there is not declaration, ANYWHERE, regarding his actual, full range. I finally had to bring this song back up, and begin checking his lowest and highest notes sung in IT, which is pretty limiting. Still...it was better than nothing. The Range Place has been redoing their site lately, and so far I haven't been able to even see if anyone has reported Bastien's range, THERE! Frustrating!
Anyway...if you click on my channel and then look down through the "5 MORE LINKS" listing, you'll find that range chart, if you'd like to see it.

Loved this song. So appropriate. Like you I thought Chance did that high part at the end but it was Bastien. Chance was just fooling around and they left it in. Bastien is from Detroit and now lives in NYC. He was on the Voice but has known HF for a long time as a “stand in” singer earlier around the Sing Off. He also sang with Chris Rupp’s band 7th Ave. That’s all I know about him but he seems really good!
While Bastien did live in NYC, he and Jerome moved to Detroit several years ago and are very active in the community there.
