Wow, that was a lot of oil all over the engine! Great video!
Thank you sir. Using this video as a guide to change the head gasket on a 12.5 Kawasaki fv460v on my metro 36
Since you don’t need it just pull engine and replace all gaskets and seals , head gaskets are all ready damaged
Scag with a kaw, might not be #1 but it's durable & reliable and it gets r done!!! Works for me !!!
Mark I hate to say it but our local shops don't work off volume !
( I know those ol' boys smile and make ya laugh ! )
But you almost always will find the same parts cheaper on line. And you have the parts within 2 weeks or less ! STAY WARM AS YA CAN !!!!
Nice job
holy cow that’s a LOT of dirt and oil on that engine 😂
Marks ' and viewers of 2021. On the 19hp Kawasaki engine, you do not need the extra hp as it will cut down the life of your engine and you will risk an overhaul or the price of a new engine. I have the KAWASAKI FR615V-AS05 RZT 50" cut.
Nice video! because i interest for that motor i have a question, the rotation are clockwise or counterclockwise facing the pto shaft??
Will that leaky head gaslit cause it to backfire and shut down. I have a fr691. And having some problems with it
It's a wonder that engine didnt overheat and throw a rod. You got lucky. Great and informative video!
When I was cleaning it and taking it apart I was thinking the same thing. The only thing I think that saved me was the cold temperatures.
@@Marksmisfitworld that disaster this kawasaki engine on scag tiger that dirty
I think my motor Kawasaki 19 is leaking oil from the top of the mower, is it hard to change a crank seal? I've got oil down the side of my block,
Can a motor overheat from a bad head gasket?
I will be changing the crank seal on the same mower I did the head gaskets on as soon as I slow down a little.
Please can you do a video about when and how to replace idler pulleys and bearings on Cutting deck of a Scag tiger cat 2?
When do the spindles need replacing… what would be happening to suggest these things on the mower need to be replaced? Thanks I appreciate your videos.
The this fix the oil leak? Kawasaki has an updated cover plate and gasket for the breather. They also eliminated the filter element that plugs up and causes oil to leak past the seals.
I would have put it outside in the wind and rain and let nature cleanse it while I drink hot cocoa…. 😂❤
Aloha Mark🤙🏻I had a question if you could help me out. I just bought a 2009 Scag tiger cub with a fh580v Kawasaki.
What are the signs of a blown head gasket? I’m thinking mine could be blown. I’m also experiencing gas in the bowl of the carburetor. Took it apart and it filled again. From what I know is the Scag hasn’t ran for 8 yrs. Got it running but it smokes and runs rough.
If you have any knowledge you could pass over it’ll be highly appreciated.
Great job Mark, couple of hours cleaning lol, and a couple cases of brake clean lol🙄.
Been really enjoying your vids, How many hours do do estimate that job will take ?
I will probably have 8 hours total into that job job just because of how long it will take to clean everything.
Did you happen to take a compression test before this? I have a kawa and running like crap...kinda bogs a little when blades engaged and then when going up hill. Hoping mine isn't rings
No I did not check the compression. Was going to until I saw the amount of oil everywhere and forgot. I still net to check the RPM’s to make sure the governor is set right.
I've had this same problem several times. I discovered low compression on the right side. Upon taking the OHV cover off I discovered a broken rod guide and the adjusting bolt snapped. It has happened a third time yesterday, same parts every time. After going through several forums last night I am now convinced the rod guide that is pressed into the head has moved into the head. Time for a new head......uuuuugh!
Sorry. I meant the valve guide that is in the head.
Dropped valve from overheating because of oil and dirt cloing the fins that cool the engine
It looks like the top crank seal is leaking from the amount of oil on the engine
Exactly that's the first thing I thought too
Probably needs the updated breather kit.
Pull the engine out work on it is easyer you can clean everything
That head gasket looks like it'd been leaking a good long while!
ACME Mowing and Lawn Care at least 2 months. I noticed it towards the end of the season. Just did not have the time to take it apart.
I’m shocked every time I see a engine covered in grass and oil mixed with dirt
Over heating and guide moving or head gasket blow out
99% of the time
It started leaking oil in October, I doubt if it was overheated when the temperatures don’t get above 50 that time of year.
Waste of time video
