the 45 70 cal. shells on his holster were for his rifle he had on his horse .....His mares leg ammo was kept in his shirt pockets which were 44 40 cal.
Wow I didn't know anyone else watched that show. I just recently bought the whole series on DVD for my dad because he used to talk about it all the time. We watched through the whole series, it was a lot of fun.
Hey Mr45. Brought back good old memories. I love that gun. Every week I HAD to watch Wanted Dead or Alive, Have Gun Will Travel, Wyatt Earp, Tombstone Territory, Death Valley Days, Cheyenne, Maverick, Sugarfoot, Gunsmoke. People that didn't grow up during those times just missed the boat. Your vid got to to remembering those great days as a small child and pre-teenager, Thanks for posting.
@jeffxl12 Using 3in1 oil shouldn't be a problem but remember Ballistol is also a lubricant. One thing you don't want to use is penetrating oil and load your gun as it creeps into the primers and makes the rounds useless over time. I would get some regular gun lube though as it is made specifically for firearms. Thanks.
@fefgam Rossi has been bought out by Taurus. They still sell under the Rossi name and sell lots of different types of guns. They used to be big on .38special snubby revolvers. Thanks.
I'm 14 right now and I own every episode of Wanted Dead or Alive, I love the gun, I love the series. I'm trying to convince y parents to buy one... much harder than it sounds. Well even if I can't get one for several years... I'm still damn well happy they made the gun in the first place
I'm not usually too big on the "cowboy" guns but I've always dreamed about the Sharpe's rifles. Then I saw "Quigley Down Under" and I had wet dreams about a Sharpe's in .45-120. Plus I've got a Marlin Guide Gun in .45-70 which ain't really much of a cowboy gun but it's kinda close. I'm 28 now and I watched that show when I was a little pup. Steve McQueen ranks right up there with John Wayne in my book.
To make a SBR all you need is a form from the ATF website and a $200 check. After you wait about 6 months you can then modify your rifle. It's not 'alot' of paper work, its just a long process. So, in a way this rifle is a deal. But buying/making a SBR is not a big deal. Take care Bill!
Yesterday I was shooting my glock 30 with 200 grain lawman +p. The take down tab fell out due to the spring breaking. As a result I started shopping and found my first 1911, springfield loaded a1 black and stainless. Since I just bought a gun in nj this month, g26, I have to wait until march. Then I will put some videos up, this gun is beautiful and can't wait to show it off and shout it. I still have to fix my g30... Take er easy...
@tnoutdoors9 Thank you. This would make a great long distance shooting vid.LOL! I was surprised how many people I talk to don't know Steve McQueen. I'm old!
@deerhunter1495 Yes people get to wrapped up in the modern day rifles sometimes.There are lots of guns out there that are just plain fun to shoot.Thanks!
I remember Gunblast doing a video about this gun a month or so ago and I've been in love with it since. I also love that when I looked at Rossi's website it's marketed as a pistol and not a rifle. Think they'd let me take my CCW class with this? LOL!!!
@ElGrandeDawg Yes! It is really a handgun. You can't do this to a rifle without a lot of paperwork.I just put up a vid with my Daughter shooting it. Thank you!!!
Love it Bill! I would put a heavy coat of flitz wax on that blueing and it will look like black chrome. Cant wait to see a shooting video, that 45LC will perform great out of that rifle barrel.
@deputysheriff100 You are my kind of people. I wish they still had those shows on. I remember buying this gun as a little kid. My Mom got it for me. You know I had to have this when it came out. This was a time when the good guys always won. Thanks so much for the comment and remembering all those great shows. Another one I watched was Yancy Derriner with Jock Mahoney. Thank you for your service!
@Mr45Bullitt thanks Bill. I knew about the primers. I don't keep them loaded in the gun safe except my revolvers. I'll just use the ballistoll. That stuff works great. I just wanted to run it by you and see what you thought.
@Mr45Bullitt Yeah, I've seen it. I actually do like the look of Henry's more than Rossi's, because of the brass receiver and the loop shape, and I have also heard that they are very well made. My only complaint about it, though, is that the .45 Colt version only holds 5 rounds (I don't want the .22 version). I also think I'd prefer the .44 Magnum, if the recoil is manageable. Everywhere I've looked, factory loaded .44 Magnum tends to be cheaper than .45 Colt, and it's more powerful.
got mine in 45 colt. the bullet that won the west. from taking out bad guys and them dropping dead in 20 seconds or less to taking out a grizzly bear. its a round that hits like a freight train without the crazy recoil allowing you to be as accurate as ever. and trust me i got a 9 mil, im all over the paper targets with it but with my rossi ranch hand its bullseyes all the time!
Mr45Bullitt I have the Henry mare's leg in .357 and it's pretty sweet. Going for the Axe .410 now, just to have it because it's a crazy cool looking gun.
@RoninEnsse I have my ranch hand in .45 COLT and I take mine deer hunting. their accuracy is great. its the shooter if they say it isnt, or the ammo they use. I use Barnes VOR-TX and I knocked my buck down flat at 50-60 yards. I think it is practacal. Its a great gun!
It's not classified as a rifle, but a pistol. You can't have a rifle with less than 16" barrel. Otherwise it's an SBR and requires special federal tax stamp.
@jkbaddley Oh, I know the .45 Colt is no slouch. I know it's got plenty of power, with even more potential, if you reload your own ammunition. I don't plan on reloading any time soon, though, so .44 Magnum would be a better option for me. I'm also no hunter. I've never been hunting before.
@Mr45Bullitt Hmm...well, as one person mentioned to me, it is pretty accurate, as I imagine it should be, considering the length of the barrel. For a "pistol", it's definitely pretty long. And actually, I've never seen any old westerns. I never grew up with that kind of stuff, partially because I was only born in '89, but I still love the old western cowboy style. I've recently gained an obsession with lever-action rifles.
this is a real mans gun. the youth should give up their high tech semi auto fetish with pretending to be GI Joes and Call of Duty soldiers and go these and wheel guns
That is sweet Bill! I saw one at a gunshow , now I wish I had got it :) Dammit! Very nice man :) When ya learn to twirl it and fan it, make a video,lol.
Wow nice purchase, I like ar-15's,but I sure do get sick of hearing about them on youtube.The lever action rifle is probably my favorite rifle, thats why I deer hunt with an old 1894 winchester.I think every gun owner should atleast experience a lever action and revolver=)
I used to watch the original "Wanted Dead or Alive" programs.......oh damn, I just dated myself......LOL. I always loved that show among others (Branded, The Rifleman....yada yada yada). Can't wait to see you and the milk jugs tangle......LOL. Take Care :-))
@RoninEnsse The action is pretty smooth to me. I haven't tested it for accuracy yet. I can hit what I aim at but from the hip I need lots of practice.. I had tohave one though as I grew up watching the old westerns. Thanks.
So if he shot 44-40's instead of 45-70's, why did he actually ask for 45-70's in one of his episodes when he was in a store with some other guy? I was certainly under the impression that he shot 45-70's in it since he actually asked for them. Why would he ask for 45-70's in the show if he only had them in his gun belt to give the impression that the rounds were bigger than what he actually was using? Maybe that was some kind of blooper?
Yes, I watched. The show made me want one of these. I have the Henry .22LR and am wanting one in a larger caliber. The show's reruns are still shown.If you cut down a rifel, one form has to be filled out and a $200 tax stamp must be purchased.
the 45 70 cal. shells on his holster were for his rifle he had on his horse .....His mares leg ammo was kept in his shirt pockets which were 44 40 cal.

@ACountryBoy4X4 I would think so. It is sold as a pistol. It is written all over the box.
LOL! Yes it is. I bought it because I watched Wanted Dead or alive growing up. I really like it.
I'm not usually too big on the "cowboy" guns but I've always dreamed about the Sharpe's rifles. Then I saw "Quigley Down Under" and I had wet dreams about a Sharpe's in .45-120. Thanks! Haven't seen that gun since the TV show. I'll have to check You Tube for some episodes.
@BORNALLAH7 Thanks. It's a Silver Stag knife.
@1lovesoni No this is only .45LC. The circuit judge by Rossi takes the .410. Thanks!
@a45sArtwork Thanks Joey. I really was glad to find this for sure.
I know McQueen would dig that. That's an awesome gun, dude. Great vid, Bill.
@gunsmith93 Thanks.No it is made by Rossi which is owned by Taursus.Price around $400.00.
@NeptuneBlueZ Thanks.I loved the show.

@TheGoodOlBoyzChannel Bonanza was the first show in color just about. My Dad watched it all the time and so did I. Thanks!
Awesome!! Great TV show, and great gun. Now you need to get that cool drop leg holster, and do some quick draw shooting vids!! Thanks for sharing
@tnoutdoors9 Thank you. This would make a great long distance shooting vid.LOL! I was surprised how many people I talk to don't know Steve McQueen. I'm old!
Very nice Bill, I would love an old model 1894. It might happen, we shall see. Congrats on the rifle Bill.
@GunznGear Thanks Van. I have looked at some holsters but man they are expensive! Hope to do a shooting vid soon.
@deerhunter1495 Yes people get to wrapped up in the modern day rifles sometimes.There are lots of guns out there that are just plain fun to shoot.Thanks!
That's one beautiful lever gun. Fortunately I haven't bought factory ammo for well over a year. I roll my own. /John
You could hang that on the wall as a very cool conversation piece & if needed spring it into action for home defense. Very cool rifle.
Very cool Bill! A lever gun is something that is on my list to get also! Thanks for sharing my friend.
I held one of those at a gunshow a few weeks back...got me a little excited! lol
Very cool, I loved that show when I was a kid.
I remember Gunblast doing a video about this gun a month or so ago and I've been in love with it since. I also love that when I looked at Rossi's website it's marketed as a pistol and not a rifle. Think they'd let me take my CCW class with this? LOL!!!
@Mrdoitagain100 Yes a Silver Stag. Very well made and reasonable too.Thanks.
@TheDishD Thank you my friend.I hope you have a great weekend to!
@gunta42 I just bought mine from Amazon all 92 episodes for $16.95. I love the old westerns.Thank you!
@Fookwah Thanks very much. I agree. I'm not going to shoot it much for sure but when I do it should be fun!
@wangwee3 Thank you Sir. Yes I was lucky as I have heard they are going for much higher prices in some areas.
@MrLoveslittlekids Thanks! It's a Silver Stag.
@humans4targets2 Thanks Paul. I think I'll do the flitz this weekend. Yes the .45 LC should work well.
@ElGrandeDawg Yes! It is really a handgun. You can't do this to a rifle without a lot of paperwork.I just put up a vid with my Daughter shooting it. Thank you!!!
@lynette1953 You are welcome. Thank you. I wish they made more westens.
That is one neat little rifle. Really nice acquisition. Steve would be proud!
@MyHollowpoint Thanks Chuck! Yes it is a cool gun. I want to get a holster for it.I'll start practicing that right away!LOL!
Love it Bill! I would put a heavy coat of flitz wax on that blueing and it will look like black chrome. Cant wait to see a shooting video, that 45LC will perform great out of that rifle barrel.
@edgedweapon88 Keelen this is a BEAUTY! We had fun shooting it today for sure! Thanks as always for watching my silly videos.
@deputysheriff100 You are my kind of people. I wish they still had those shows on. I remember buying this gun as a little kid. My Mom got it for me. You know I had to have this when it came out. @TheCromeShop Thanks my friend.
@TheMultiGunMan Thanks Jason. I thought you would like this!
@Mr45Bullitt thanks Bill. I knew about the primers. I don't keep them loaded in the gun safe except my revolvers. I'll just use the ballistoll. That stuff works great. I just wanted to run it by you and see what you thought.
@phishst1cks Thanks Buddy! I'm liking it so far a lot!
@bearing01 Thanks John. Yes that is the way to go. I wish I still reloaded.
@Mr45Bullitt Yeah, I've seen it. I actually do like the look of Henry's more than Rossi's, because of the brass receiver and the loop shape, and I have also heard that they are very well made. That was a great show, Bill. Thanks for the memories.
Looking forward to the range tour.

Cool rifle Bill! Very similar to what I always wanted. But the one I want is a 12g 1886 lever action. Like the one in Terminator 2.
@cornflake71 Yes it would. No it's sold as a handgun. Thanks.
@GunWebsites Thanks Pete!!
@RoninEnsse Henry Rifles makes this now. I've never owned a Henry but I'm told they are well made.
Mr45Bullitt I have the Henry mare's leg in .357 and it's pretty sweet. Going for the Axe .410 now, just to have it because it's a crazy cool looking gun.
@MrJimbofox Thank you Jim!
@ChromeFreak123 Thanks Mike. Yes I had to have this one.Of course I say that about all my guns!LOL!

@xreddeadx Yes it was! Thanks!
@RoninEnsse The action is pretty smooth to me. I haven't tested it for accuracy yet. I can hit what I aim at but from the hip I need lots of practice.. I had tohave one though as I grew up watching the old westerns. Thanks.
@Rock3t138 Thanks. I really wanted this gun.
@ristin59 Me too! There were so many westerns back then. Remember Shotgun Slade? Thanks.

@Snicke22 Thank you!
@jimkressin So true! Thanks!
@hathcocked LOL! How did you know. Yes I had to have it but couldn't afford $1600.00 for it. Thanks Jason.
Very cool Bill.. Very nice looking rossi. Excellent video

@jocephus44mag 20 years ago maybe.LOL! Thanks Buddy!
@MyYogiB Thank you!
