Implementing a just transition: Lessons from Australia and the world

With the passage of the Net Zero Economy Authority Act of 2024, Australia joined a small but growing number of countries that have legislated frameworks for ensuring a just transition to a net zero economy. This panel will bring together trade union leaders from Australia and other leading countries around the world to discuss how these efforts are playing out on the ground. What's working? What's not? What can all countries learn from these early experiments in transitioning workers and communities from high-carbon to net zero industries? And how should this impact the UNFCCC's new Just Transition Work Programme?
