i have tried many technique but yours is what i enjoyed most, except that i usually donate my bait, specially if I encountered a cuda i tried putting a leader wire but my wobbler suffers most, now mag try ako ng fg on mono, thanks for ur vids,great tutorials 🤛😎

I know this is from a year ago but thank you!!! I finally learned this knot and pulled in a huge tarpon from a kayak the knot didn't even budge very strong!!
I love the fg knot. Sometimes I just sit in my garage and see how fast I can tie this knot. It's like mediation for me. One thing I do different is finishing with a rizzuto knot.

Thanks this is my favorite line to leader connection for sure. I got myself an old rod and cut the handle ,then cut that in half to tighten that braid works fantastic and easy on the hands

Braid swivel - swivel leader - lure, bale ginyan ang wet up. Para sana madali mag palit ng lures.

Yeah I can do that exact same thing but whenever I tighten the knot down the tag end of the Flouro slips all the way through the knot every time.

This is how I tie mine. eventually it unravels From the half hitch side
Every once in a while, i'll watch another vid on how someone is tying this knot just see if there's a different way. I stopped using the FG knot for the same reason you did. With enough casts, the braid/reel end of the knot gets frayed and loosens up. I tried tying normal, more half hitches, a uniknot, the rizuto finish, crazy glue, no crazy glue, UV fly knot sealer, etc. Eventually, the glues break up and work loose and the hitches fray the same way. That tag end does not hold up to through guides.
@@littlegoobie I do the 15 wrap fg with rizutto. Had problems with it unraveling after a few sessions, got rid of the problem after switching to a softer shockleader (Varivas Ocean Record), my mainline is Saltiga 12 braid.
Try a softer leader if you still want to use the fg, I think it helps the braid grip it even tighter.
littlegoobie on last half hitch wrap tag end around main line 3 times instead of once, locks it, won't unravel. Been using this knot and doing this for 7 years, no issues.

Am I the only person who ties the FG, then a couple half hitch knots tighten everything down, then do another FG knot on top followed by a couple half hitches.

Although these knot tying videos are straightforward, there is a lot of subtle nuisance that the fingers do to make this knot. Perfect practice makes perfect.
