Just did a review of this stick myself, it's what I use now and cannot recommend it enough - great review!
Thanks Grump, I've been looking at this recently, so this is really helpful. I'm running a STECS and their rudder pedals, both of which are excellent.
Just need the Gunfighter IV + grip to complete the set. :)
"my stick is the best ever" - literally everyone in the comments who have only owned that one high end stick
exactly
Pretty much, I do love my virpil t50 stick. Granted next up is building a vpforce rhino. Want thar nice force feedback
Idk mobydick I have the Virpil CM3 base with the dampers and it was the biggest waste of money, and I’m a Virpil fanboy, that’s saying a lot lol
Have been using the Mk III for 3 years, it is IMHO without doubt the best stick and base you can get for the money. Shipping in the EU is from NL so just a couple of days. The fact that they downright encourage you to take the base apart and fiddle with it is pretty amazing.
Great review Grump!! informative and entertaining. 👍
Very nicely done. Entertaining and informative.
Loving the review from grump as GR baby would say more, more, morrrreeeee!!! 😂
Excellent. I do enjoy a Grump review.
nice setup Grump !!
That is a very impressive setup I've been wondering about how you have all your stuff set up for the Sim.
Love the use of the Ace Combat 7 OST
Do It GRUMP!!😎
Good solid review, excellent production value. Your USA and EU bias is noted.
Tht was cool & Gumpnik WOW! lol
These are great. I have been starting to save up for my next joystick. I've been into Sims since I was a kid, ran with the Logitech Wingman Warrior and a Thrust Master Top Gun with I was a kid, and have been making do with a Logitech Extreme for a few years. So I definitely deserve something quality and I believe you have convinced me.
Absolutely love the product review of grump, and when I upgrade from my x56 this will definitely be what I'm looking at.
Also just curious are you no longer putting out any of your Sluggers DCS content? I really miss watching those
Our Sluggers numbers have diminished greatly so no, I haven't been doing cinematics. I still stream the missions every Sunday though.
I run the GF3 with the MCG Pro and a 10cm extension, its fantastic.
Great product assessment, competition is always a good thing as TM kind of dominated for too long, as for me Im WW all the way the Orion2 is just too good.
+GrimReapersAtomic *The Virtual Engineering Bureau MPO (% VKB Controllers US LLC) has an ideal control column for a simpit based on the OKB Pavela Osipovicha Sukhogo (Komsomol'sk/Amur, RUS) T-50 (AFIC: Felon) in the Gunfighter IV MCG-U.* The ST⩥ECSᵀᴹ Mini Plus and STEMᵀᴹ Panel should go, respectively, on port and starboard levels, as VIRPILⓇ Controls has more durable corner panels in the VPC-401/402.
*Addition:* The VIRPILⓇ VPC-402 has the necessary buttons for a notional Sukhoi-57 Korabel’nij Perekhvatchik (Ru: Сухои-57 Корабельний Перехвачик; AFIC: Felon-D). Tek Creations Pty. Ltd. has an appropriate Hook switch; Thrustmaster an appropriate yaw/brakes set in the Pendul-R. (The brakes on the Pendul-R can be disabled, as the Federal Russian Aerospace Forces favor a successor to the pneumatic wheel brake system on the combat aircraft o' the past.)
Hey Grump, how about a walk through of you setup, PC through to all connections, trhough to your add on's (desk/screen's etc).
When Cap issues another GR members PC setup, I may go into more detail than my last one.
I have winwing f18, and f16 joysticks and throttle and Virpil Alpha joystick and CM3 throttle. I love my Virpil throttle the most out of all of the throttles. But I like my Winwing Joysticks handle a lot. Never used a VKB but Winwing and Virpil have amazing quality. But Win wing for the price has by far the best quality to price.
nice :)
I don't get notified of your videos anymore.
Yeh I can only reach about 20% of GR subscribers, other 80% have to check channel manually for new vids.
Excellent review grump, I'll swap out my x56. Do they ship to south africa
They should be able to. I recommend you check the website to make sure.
More Wolf Pack, Please.
So how does it compare against a Virpil CM3 base which has easy access to the spring pre-tensioners and dampers from the top and a 200mm goose neck extension?
VKB also has a gooseneck extension you can buy. You can open up the base from the top or bottom depending on what you want to do. I recommend checking out the VKB playlist in this video description for a full explanation of the assembly / dismantle process.
love this stuff cap
my crappy laptop cant run dcs online lol
i want to upgrade my setup and i was thinking of getting the Thrustmaster MFD and i want to get a display for it and i found a few but i am interested to know wether the CUBESIM MFD display is a good choice or not
It depends on your affinity to Chinese developed and manufactured products; meaning not just manufactured in China.
@@WyvernFalken do you know any non Chinese ones that aren't insanely expensive every time i look the only thing i see people talk about is now they ordered a 30$ screen from aliexpress and somehow mounted and programmed it to work on the display
May I ask that do you guys who are using the device have the same problem I am experiencing now? I put the grip on a table. My forearm sometimes touches the edge of the metal baseplate or the metal grip base, I got a feeling of a light electricity shock or static electricity discharge. I think the electric grounding of the device is not done well.
I also brought the STECS throttle. The throttle baseplate is made of metal and has the same static electricity problem.
If you're experiencing it from both platforms that leads me to believe you have a grounding issue outside of the devices. You might look if any if your other electronics are experiencing static discharge or shocks.
@@WyvernFalken Oh my other device doesnt have this problem. Weird. Becuase Im pluggin in the device onto my computer USB. How can I check where the grounding issue is coming from?
Prices are just crazy, right ?!
It has dampeners? Why would you want your joystick wet? Dampers would do a better job and keep it dry.
Damper and dampener can be used interchangeably.
dampener
noun [ C ]
UK /ˈdæm.pən.ər/ US /ˈdæm.pən.ɚ/
something that makes something less active, less exciting, or less enjoyable
Synonym
damper

Great base but for desktops kosmosima grip would be better. Its pitty they abandoned gladiator pro line. MCG grip is just too tall for desktop. Its simpit gtip.
you cant say your vkb came from china then say the reason winwing is cheaper because it came from china
There's a difference between China manufactured and China designed.
