Great review Alex. I currently own a couple of the Reef Factory flare bars and they’re great combined with T5’s on a frag tank I have. The problem with these Pro lights is they’re priced too similar to the Radions and they simply aren’t as good IMO. The same is true for the Red Sea lights. Unless there’s a bigger difference in price I just wouldn’t ever consider buying this light over an XR15.
Apart from the xr15 doesn't put out anything like this kind of PAR. 250 at best at a 6inch depth. I was going to go for a Radeon until I started reading that.
That “intensity” slider is a huge advantage over the AI range. So annoying when you want to simply increase or decrease a few percent of power on the Prime!
Great review, good looking light with a lot of features, I do think the price is slightly punchy if they are trying to break into the market. If they included the mount in the 350 I’d be more tempted.

Adding multiples of this light would do the job nicely Apologies if this is obvious in the review but can you programme each channel individually throughout the 24h period? Looks like you do that to achieve your evening blue look? The bracket looks like it is not strong enough to hold the puck horizontal, allowing it to sag a bit - that would really bug me so I would need to use one of the alternatives
You can, yes - you just set a time point for the specific colour you want. I have it set to all blue channels in the am and pm. Looking at it, it sags by maybe a couple of degrees. Hardly notiecable to me but you might want to look elsewhere or at least see one of these in the flesh...
I’m a white light and shimmer guy . Are you satisfied with the amount of shimmer you are getting. I can’t wait til they are available in the 🇺🇸 it looks good provided the shimmer is good. Thanks

Looking at those new lights and being looking for a new light option I have three doubts that perhaps you could help to clarify, first is what would be the coverage of the unit is positioned near the water surface like at 15cm? I think that you have them positioned at 30cm +- that is what the brand recommends? Also when the funs do run is the noise audible? The last doubt is regarding the diffusion of the light, it is noticeable the individual LEDs on the sand? By some videos I saw it seems they are and I even ear the brand will have a difuser for those, not sure if it is just a rumor. Thank you once more
Mine are about 28cms off the surface and I think Reef Factory say 30cms plus is best to get the most spread. 6 inches is low though and you'll have bad spread with most lights at that level i'd guess. Fans still haven't come on yet so don't know about noise. There's definitely a bit of colour separation, yes. It's about the same as my gen 4 Radion XR-15. If colour separation really bothers you, go for Kessil

Hmm. All the RF workings are based on 2 foot tall tanks and that extra 6 to 12 inches makes a big difference. It'd be much better than your xr15 but probably still not enough

Not a lot more to add - I'm still using it, still like it. I turned the red and green off after this video because I found it quite static-y but it's better now.
Really hard to say without knowing more about your tank but you won't go wrong if you start at a low intensity - say 30%. I have all blue and violet channels at 100% with white tweaked to what looks good to my eye.
@@ReefDork i have a same tank as you. Mixed with sps, zoanthus, clams. My light IS above 25cm from the water... I put 100% intensity.. not good? What about the red and green Channel ?

I wanted to run a refugium, and I was wondering if you had any tips in sub-dividing the sump up for that purpose. I have a WB20 Cube at the moment, and no fish so I am not fussed about running a skimmer. A merry Christmas to you and yours.
Sounds like a plan - I'm not familiar with that sump but I'd email Waterbox and ask them. I bet you're not the first person to ask so they're bound to have some advice. Maybe they'll start making their sumps refugium ready 🤞

Depends what you want - in my opinion, all of the major brands will do just fine and there won't be a significant difference for your corals. So for me, things like features, colour, shimmer are my deciding factors. But short answer(!) is I prefer this to my previous XR-15...
Yeah, that's fixable by changing the shutter speed and frame rate but i'd prefer it to be perfect in auto mode. My Red Sea light was a nightmare for that too annoyingly!
It seems my comment has disappeared. Life is too short to type all that again. Suffice to say I am not happy with Reef factory. they did some software tweeks to their Smart reef GUI last weekend and now it tells me my dose pump, switch and thermo controller are offline. Imagine my horror waking up to see that. My wife tells me everything is up and running (as I am a long way from home). Advice from Reef factory was to reboot everything which my wife did, but all my kit is still offline and that is the last I heard from Reef factory.

100 percent there to close to Ecotech and Ai price and not such an established brand need to under cut the top brands imo

Just use two fingers and slide up to increase overall intensity

I have 4x Flare Blues on my main tank. They're good. Your coral health won't be suffering because of your choice of light fwiw.

Kessil or maybe Red Sea will be a better fit for you then. The shimmer's fine, but Kessil shimmer is the King!

I'm looking at getting the pro.s blue. With the fan, is it on all the time or only if the light hits a certain temperature?
I run it at 50% and the fan never comes on so I think it's based on temperature, but I can't tell you if it's on all the time if it was at 100%

Never heard UV is harmful - most lights come with a UV channel...
the sun puts out a lot of UV, we need it too

The RS has better shimmer but the RF has better colour and more power - personally I don't miss my RS90...
