Meet any enlightened Guru like Sri M. Take initiation from Him/Her. Begin practice (sadhana) according to Guru's instructions. You can evolve into enlightenment. Whether you should take formal sanyas or be a householder yet sanyasi within will be decided by the Guru. An enlightened one is an enlightened one, whether sanyasi or householder, don't bother about that.

I think his point is to do experiments yourself and actually try them out. Sure there are many vids on the plant/sound experiment, but then doing them for oneself and actually seeing and experiencing them are a whole different story.
