I'm amazed that they are not more common in the USA, especially in hot parts of the country. Having these types of window blinds reduces the need of air con significantly and increases security. These shutters are practically standard on pretty much most houses in Europe (except the UK).
LOL0I0TROL0U I lived in Germany for 3 years and the apartment we lived in had shutters....I loved having those....you could open and close them just like curtains or blinds.... and yes most of the homes there have rolling shutters.
I feel there has to be a physical lock of some sort which could not be hacked electronically, as in these times where keyless-entry cars are being stolen. Yeah
@O O Not needed, the original german ones are manual, have a belt to raise and lower inside, americans as well as new zealand, australia (british ancestors) have backwards window systems compared to europeans

Only if it's wireless and doesn't use Zero-knowledge proof authentication. The shutters themselves can't be physically lifted from the outside.

No the these ones are out dated made with plastic the new ones I install are aluminum much stronger and will last longer
