Thank you Bernie for speaking up for what is right. We have the safeguards in America so that we are not complicit in war crimes but it seems these are being overridden to supply Israel with arms with no real conditions for how they are used. We can at least stop supplying them with dumb bombs and 2 ton bombs, we can do air lifts of basic food and medical aid (as France and Jordan have tried). At the end regardless of it is true or not the world assumes that Israel is not capable of moving at such an extreme without US consent. My worry beyond the terrible human tragedy this is creating is that this will blow back on the US in the long run and force us into more forever wars and a-symmetric battles such as what is going on with Yemen. I now understand why people in the Middle East hate us!

Yes! Please do something! Please fly to Gaza and talk to Hamas to stop the decades of terror attacks. This is really not okay. And please make them realise that you shouldn't burn babies alive, you shouldn't brutally rape women and you shouldn't start a war in general. Tell them you don't take babies hostage...oh and ask them to take all the money donated for the poor people in Gaza and not for terror tunnels and weapons and tell them it's not okay that their leadership has millions in their bank account while they starve and dumb down their population. A suggestion for stopping both conflicts! Raise the highest income tax bracket to generate a TRILLION dollars in additional revenue! Take the costs for the Israel /Hamas/Yemen war and that of the Ukraine war, out of that Trillion with the balance going to pay down the National debt. Then we'll see who really wants war!

Just checked, and I posted a statement from Bernie on this topic on my FB page on October 11th. The views he expressed in that statement are consistent with what he's saying now -- he accused Israel of war crimes.

In the Israel, Hamas conflict, it is important to always talk against the terror that both Israel and Palestinian civilians undergo in this terrible situation. Forgetting one population takes a side in what is now clearly showing to be two terrorist factions going at each other in the same indiscriminate aggression. Biden, I understand the support for Israel and the destruction of the Hamas terrorists, but so far, Israel has used the same indiscriminate tactics in a barbaric siege, leaving Gaza civilians without electricity, water, food and safe corridors for evacuation and humanitarian help. All that shows to the World that both sides use terror on each other. Israel's Allies and Biden should demand an immediate ceasefire or/and the implementation of safe corridors to evacuate, at least, women, children, elderly and hospitalized people, and also restoration of all basic necessities. If Israel does not comply with this minimum, allies and the USA SHOULD NOT engage in this conflict between terrorists and only bring humanitarian aid. In this second speech, the only promise of Biden for the people trapped in Gaza was “We will send trucks of goodies” without any timeline and absolutely nothing about Israel killing and starving innocent civilians. WTF Mr. President? This is how you make extremists and start stupid wars, by showing that you don’t care.

Sorry but I have to point out the elephant in the room. Everybody has a smartphone with a camera these days. If there were emaciated children starving to death in Gaza, there would be photos of them posted online to convince the world to step in and help. Where are all the photos of these emaciated children? Skinny kids, yes. There are skinny kids all over the world. But to die of starvation, you get emaciated first. Where's are the photos? I just don't buy it.
It sadly & maddeningly seems that we too often cannot take countries let alone individuals _’at their word’_ any more. Judging by the last 100 days, Israel’s initial response to Hamas’ horrific actions on October 9 was understandable. However, a despicable line was crossed & the hostages & the civilians are wrongly paying for it. Many of us care about *ALL* of these people. Compassion needs to show an upper hand. Innocents are in need of medical attention, food & water plus some semblance of *REAL* safety.
