Grandaddy would take any pruned branch more than 6" long and carefully 'score'? them, soak them in birch water of roll them in rooting powder then stick them in pots of growing medium. They would then be placed in a shaded section of his greenhouse to root. He was third generation on a farm with a peach orchard that had been producing heritage fruit since the early 1800's.

He also raised and sold Stone Mtn. watermelon and the seeds through a local distributer. I wish I could have apprenticed my young self to him and Grandma. Keep On Posting ! God Bless !@@NorthFork-Ranch
