There are dog programs as well. It would be great if prisons all over the country could have both dog and cat programs like this. It's a win-win for both the animals and the prisoners.😻🐶
These type of programs bring a level of emphathy (which otherwise can't be taught) to these inmates. Nice to see the US prison system doing something right every now and then.
I read an article that the new modern technology to heal sports injuries is based on mimicking the frequencies of a cats purr. It is said a cats purr creates positive feelings & in studies people with cats healed better from injuries.
I’m not too fond of prisons, but the program that the prison came up with for the cats is a good idea that they should do it in all prisons including women’s prisons. This proves to show you that not all inmates are really bad people and you can’t judge a book by a cover. They just needed help like everybody else as well as love. God bless the inmates who are in the video. ❤
While I agree, I feel like abusers shouldn’t…. People who abuse animals and people shouldn’t get to spend time around animals that they can abuse. I don’t want any of those sweet cats to be around people who will ruin their trust even more.
@@pasadenacatpink After Hurricane Harvey inmates of the Texas Department of Corrections donated thousands of dollars from their commissary accounts to assist in the relief effort. I’m sure it was a very real sacrifice for most of them. We need a better path back into society for nonviolent offenders.
@@TheDepressoExpressoI think those types of offenders wouldn’t qualify for the program. They have to be reviewed and do an interview to qualify. Not every prisoner is eligible to participate.
I think it's awesome and every prison should do this. The one inmate just said it makes you wanna behave so you don't lose your privileges to see the cats. It's a win win imo
This is wonderful! Kitties are so zen and pass it on to humans! Nurturing the kitties lets them experience empathy, compassion and love, no judging. I wish more prisons would do this! 👍
The inmate Nate Boles is so well-spoken & compassionate with the precious kitties, 🐱🐈🐈⬛😽😻I'm glad these kitties are very loved & cared for. I hope they all find forever homes or if they remain at the facility, that they live their best lives♡♡♡☆☆🫶🏾🫶🏽
What a fantastic project. I don't know if anything similar is done here in England but it can surely only help these offenders to calm themselves and learn to really care about other beings, whatever the species. To be locked in cells day after day must be soul destroying. Isn't the point of jail time to rehabilitate? Bravo. More like this please.
Yes, I did earn the money to support the prisoners to be caretakers of the pets well Healthcare beings and their good hard work with Healthcare and education ours are all the same animals on earth and everyone's matters of values.
'You can see the results of what you do, by how they approach you' it's interesting that this thought process just occured to him like it's something completely unfounded. My man, if you use that same mentality to humans you probably will never get in trouble again. I hope you'll have a great restart in life after parole.
I've found Many 11 and 12 HR videos on Utube, that are to specifically out to calm cats and helps them sleep better. I listen to different ones every nite, with my Tablet above my head. Mostly soft piano music. It might be nice to have something like that playing at your Facility. Luv and Hugz
My question might be stupid but what about people who are arrested for abusing animals? I guess they aren't allowed to go near the cats (or other pets), right?
Yeah they said in the video the prisoners have to qualify and have an interview to be around the cats. It’s not open to all prisoners. Also sounds like if you violate rules, you can get your cat privileges revoked.
Anything that gets the inmates engaged and encourages empathy can only be positive.
😊Exactly
great story!! Reforming prisoners and cats!
There is something healing about a cats purr.
Um, cat purrs are healing!
Cat purrs have been scientifically proven to purr at a frequency that stimulates new bone grown and lowers blood pressure.
They actually DO heal us.
The purring has actually been proven to heal broken bones faster and heal with illnesses of all kinds.
Glad to see they haven't shut down this program.
"Ironic that these sweet and innocent creatures came to a prison to find freedom."
I’m tearing up 🥹
agreee
Such a win-win.
Beautiful! ❤
We should have this all over the country. It’s a love love deal. Symbiotic. Healing.
There are dog programs as well. It would be great if prisons all over the country could have both dog and cat programs like this. It's a win-win for both the animals and the prisoners.😻🐶
Every prison needs this kind of program to help both cats and inmates
These type of programs bring a level of emphathy (which otherwise can't be taught) to these inmates. Nice to see the US prison system doing something right every now and then.
You can't help but wonder if these men had more animal love they might not be where they are now.
Love this!❤️ Broken people and broken cats are helping each other to heal.
this helps the cats and prisoners gain trust and a friend they would never have.
I read an article that the new modern technology to heal sports injuries is based on mimicking the frequencies of a cats purr. It is said a cats purr creates positive feelings & in studies people with cats healed better from injuries.
It is all about love, real love, unconditional. These babies love these guy so much, and the guys feel the same way. It is all a win win!

Exactly! ❤
A great cat can bring a tough guy to his happy side.
Nothing can heal us like animals can. ❤❤
Yes true🐈🐕💚💚💚
This is a win win situation for the both the cats and the inmates. I truly wish they would implement this life changing idea to every prison. ❤
What great inmates-taking things very seriously & enjoy the time with the kitties 😊
I absolutely LOVE this!!! ❤ i wish every prison had this

They could use that in TX jails we have lots of stray and homeless cats

Cats make everything better
Oh yes
This is such an amazing story!! Thank you and your team for the wonderful report and uplifting message,
🥰
This is a win-win - simple as that.
Yes, I did earn the money to support the prisoners to be caretakers of the pets well Healthcare beings and their good hard work with Healthcare and education ours are all the same animals on earth and everyone's matters of values.
Animal therapy is a no-brainer. I just gotta wonder if anyone else agrees, the last cat is a dead ringer for Ron Pearlman?
I love this so much ❤
Cat's keep em in line.
a win win!!! 😊
the way to meet for recognize us are all from humanity
beautiful
love this
every prisoner deserved a cat if it makes them a better person, the cats need somewhere to be safe too
Why do I think that the main contraband item is catnip in there?

They should try this in the uk 🇬🇧 instead of riding the female staff
Cats are sweet. It's their default setting. But if your cats is an a-hole, that's entirely your fault. They just don't trust you.
My question might be stupid but what about people who are arrested for abusing animals? I guess they aren't allowed to go near the cats (or other pets), right?
Well they explained this, if you're paying attention
Yeah they said in the video the prisoners have to qualify and have an interview to be around the cats. It’s not open to all prisoners. Also sounds like if you violate rules, you can get your cat privileges revoked.
Bloody hell those cats are treated better than many pets! They live in luxuary!
