- Highlights from the Strongman Sandbag Throw Over Bar at the 2020 Arnold Pro Strongman USA Qualifier in Santa Monica. With a 60 second time limit, athletes will pick and throw five different sandbags over a 15-foot bar in ascending weight.
The Arnold Pro Strongman USA Qualifier is part of the Arnold Pro Strongman World Series, and features many of the biggest names in international competition, including Brian Shaw, Jerry Pritchett, Jean-Francois Caron, Rob Kearney, Matjaz Belsak, and 2019 champion and reigning World’s Strongest Man, Martins Licis. Among the challenges on the docket this year are the 400 LB Farmer’s Walk, 775 LB Deadlift for Reps (w/ Rogue Power Bar), 380 LB Slater Log Clean & Press, and two events featuring Rogue’s Strongman Sandbags: the Throw Over Bar (ascending weight) and Sandbag Load (3 bags carried 30’ each).
The overall winner of the event will earn a spot at the 2020 Arnold Strongman Classic, held March 6-7, 2020, in Columbus, Ohio.
Guy in the camo at 2:08 love how the camera try’s to move away from him and he moves over
LMAO. Thanks for pointing that out.
Haha in the end I think the commentator is told to move to his right to try and cover him
I'm so glad you made this comment! if you didn't I would've!
Dude is kinda creepy
Where the hell did this Maxime come from!? Dominating.
I know right?????
absolutely crushing the events, outstanding
@@heinzpechliwanis1411 could be others were pacing them self which is why he did bad in the deadlift?
@@mrmolasses5366 this really could be the case. theres not much material from maxime online, but its likely that deadlift is also his weakest discipline overall
Ontario baby!
Can we all just take a moment to appreciate 26:05. Pure finesse. (the way the bag just rolls back into the exact spot it was in before the toss.)
Thanks so much for streaming this out for free right where everyone can find it. All of the other strongman competitions could learn something from all of the Arnold's. Arnold's is even better than wsm nowadays if you ask me.
Of course it's better. The events, the implements, the coverage it's just superior. Very little fluff and no cringe.
50:20... That bag DEFINITELY went over the bar lmfao
Video starts at 30:33
Wish I saw this earlier. i fell asleep waiting for it and only woke up because of the crowd cheering 😂
👍
@@axelramirez7337 lmao same here
I thought it starts at 00:00
im high at the moment... I would have watched the whole 30min if I didnt see your comment, thanks captain
Thank you Roque for the streaming so i could enjoy the event live in the Netherlands
Love the confidence in Martin’s interview
Weird seeing romark not brhind the camera
this maxim is like mateusz when he first came out of the shadows of Poland and dominated all events
He came out of nowhere and destroyed the first 3 events. He isn't even that heavy - I think he's 300 maybe 310 lbs ?
@@josephsummers2427 insane. mateusz was also a "light" guy
Dudes a freak.
Awesome comp. BUT that cerebral palsey guy lifting 1.5x bw stone over the bar, twice, is EPIC. NO EXCUSES.
7:00 the legendary Miles!
Boudreault is insane
They breed insanity up here in Ontario, Canada
long life to Arnold!
Maxime "Grumpy Cat" Boudreault, or Maxime "Ron Swanson" Boudreault.
Accurate
bag went over for carons first 60lbs attempt
Caron’s first 60kg throw went over. Why they put a damn flag there to obstruct the visual of clearance is ridiculous.
I’m a huge Brian Shaw fan but have become a Martin Licis fan as of late. He’s funny af and a beast. But still want Brian to win
Check out the Stoltman Brothers! Funniest strongman content imho.
Berserker Barrage Eddie hall with anyone is honestly a blast to watch he’s such a character
Starts at 24:05
Well done JF Caron!🇨🇦
1:54 Roooomark!
Tired Romark
I mean no disrespect, but just out of sheer curiosity, was the guy in the crutches specifically brought in to walk circles around the event between contestants to raise awareness for something?
Im also courious about it
He was part of one of the strongman’s crew.
@@Saskatchetoonerhe does nothing but be juiced up one legged dude always in the fkn way.
@@Saskatchetoonerno he is not
Shaw @ 44:00 and Martins @ 51:45
53:29 Boudreault
18:37 dude that moment was awesome
Lol he pushed the bar lower with his throw at 33:24
starts at 30:30
I love Muchas Ballsachs!
Under Arnold name they put “former governor of California”, but I think “7 time Mr, Olympia” is much more impressive.
Eddie Williams is cool and all but what was the point of competing? He didn’t look ready for anything
He kinda never does
Damn. This is where Brian lost it today. I know he is killing himself for this one.
Were you living under a rock the past 2 years?
you're right. Shaw knew he has to win this event. Because he's built for this event. He's much taller than the others and much heavier. He and Bjornsson are by far the best in this on the world. He knew he had to get all of the bags over the bar because he's slower than most of the others. I think 2 years ago he got 90 pounds over it but then it was not endurance. I think Shaw is having a really hard time because he knows if he wouldn't have made that mistake in the one bag he probably could have managed all bags and that would have been the crucial last point. It's a pity. Shaw not being at the Arnolds in Ohio. He probably belongs there more than anybody else. It's actually also bad for the competition. I'm pretty sure the organizers wanted Shaw to win because he is kind of an iconic figure in this sport. Licis is the WSM but he has not yet such a big fan base and he is still kind of a newcomer. Shaw against Bjornsson would have been the clash but now its Licis and Kieliszkowski who face Thor.
AMAZING 💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪
38:51 - It's not that this guy isn't strong, but his form is pretty bad right at this moment - he didn't even get to parallel with his hips on the squat while swinging, he's missing out on a lot of momentum and energy. It's like a baseball pitcher that doesn't swing his arm back before swinging it forward, same concept.
Pretty sure he's injured
31:10 Event starts.
id love to see them add like average man into these. like one guy who doesnt belong there just to take some tension off
Edddie Williams was disappointing
In order to make this challenge fair, all obstacles - the 52 inch bar, the "throw five different sandbags over a 15-foot bar" etc. - should be adjusted in proportion to the height of each individual athlete.
Thats not how you pronounce Kramer -_-
Crazy how much arnolds son looks like him.
Erlyk Dalkien really?
Boudreault was throwing those like Shaw and Thor were throwing kegs in a WSM several years ago. Can't remember which one but their throws stood out way above the rest but Brian got second because he had too much air lol.
I remember that. They were whiffing them over like nothing.
Maxime attacked them like the younger Brian did. I'm really surprised Brian didn't get all five.
Looks like this Maxime guy is the strongest man ever. Who would have thought?
He was born and is from where I am from
Nobody can beat Brian in this
He was 2nd place in this
Jamal Schlongnyabut well look at what he is doing lol, tons of other stuff besides purely competing, he does a tv show, lots of traveling, collabs with other youtubers
Bad timing for Brian to come down with the flu
@Jamal Schlongnyabut he was sick. Could've won this if he wasnt.
Jamal Schlongnyabut hes in 4th place overall. His day’s of being one of the best aren’t over. Far from it imo
UNCLE NICK!
That guy at 2:15 behind the casters lol.
They need to remove the banner and put it someplace else. It interferes with the event.
Wait so what's the point of some of these guys doing this if they already qualified?
Overall points and standing. It’s cumulative throughout the “season”/year.
Brian Shaw's warm up throw was an emasculating experience for the others I'm sure
Omg Maxime 😳
the mountain just did 88 lbs, although I don't know about the height.
It was 10 feet instead of the typical 15 feet if I'm not wrong
@@langjunxin7874 I think I heard it was 4.5 meters instead of 5 meters, but I don't know how accurate that was.
@@DutchDread 5 meters isnt 15 feet. This here is 4.54m / 15.00 ft.
nice outfit tinkerbell:)
Who’s that guy missing a leg? (E.g. 31:00)
Martins Licis the Winner !
50:18 how was that under the crossbar??? it rolled OVER it !
When will Brian learn that it’s all about speed these days in strongman?
He knows....he just can't do it
Strange isn't it when strongmen isn't mostly about Beeing strong..
Jeroen vdd little bit yeah! At least the Arnold still keeps the events heavy enough that not everyone can complete the events so you still have to be monstrously strong
@@him050 yeah but even Arnold's lowered the bar no more 240kg atlas etc
32:28 Creepy sidenote: that microphone placement in that girl‘s pants (in the background) just looks wrong, very wrong....🤔
most of the women there are jacked. probably packing too.
Belsak's throwing form looked horrible. No hip hinge at all and super narrow stance, it looked like he'd never thrown a bag before in his life
Hire an editor.
erm de fuk hello maxime nice to meet you
What's up with Brian's voice? Is he sick or is that just from shouting?
has the flu
47:15 😘😘😘
Bad timing for Brian to come down with the flu
Excuses
The steep child chiefly hug because sycamore conspicuously scribble atop a steady crime. depressed, skillful turnip
Can ballsack just leave and come back when he’s actually comparable in strength to the other athletes?
Why is it constantly Brian that complains and has to point crap out like he's some damn inspector. Just do your damn throw and move on. It's always something with this guy, you all have the same equipment and bar. Then he'll use it as the excuse when he loses as usual. He's getting old and in decline he can't even win here anymore he's delusional
That guy with the couches and fake leg is QUITE ANNOYING in the background. What exactly is this guy doing? It's EXTREMLY DISTRACTING seeing him pace around the fucking court. SMMFH.
I love how this presenter thinks all Dutch people love bag over bar and the Canadians have strong grips. What can the English do?
They deadlift 🤣🤣🇨🇦🏴
The Brit’s can’t do fk all
What color do I dye my mohawk to indicate that I'm straight?
Red, white, and blue
@A.A.Ron Davis You really think Kearney is more insecure than you? lol
Great event and fantastic stream, the commentary is horrible tho
I am going to be honest, as a hardcore lifter and fan of the sport I love the static events. I love deadlift for max or reps, squat for reps, axel or log, stones. I even like the moving events but I have to say that bag over bar is one of the boringest events to watch and I wish it was gotten rid of. It obviously favors taller athletes, shaw and thor are world class at this event and happen to be the tallest as well. It just is not very exciting, I know it has been around for awhile but sometimes you have to move on. Just my opinion, change my mind.
18:29 Arnold's son.
