Hello Everyone - I really can't believe this video has been so popular. In 6 years, 190k views. And Arrow uses it like it's their own :) I'll be remaking this video, with a tripod and without skipping the difficult part that requires 2 hands and a clamp. Until then, if you subscribe, I might actually be able to monitize this and make stapler fix-it videos into it's very own channel.
Alright, stapler jammed multiple times. Got frustrated. Took it apart. Despaired. Watched this vid on YT. Cleaned, lubed, reassembled. Cussed a lot, but it works like a champ now. Thanks! Saved me the price of a new one!
You rock! I was nearly convinced my broken PowerShot was headed for the trash, but stubborn me said, “Open it up, have a look and at least see if it’s fixable” so I did and got it working again with much confidence from your video. Thank you so much!
Same as Teresa Morgan....I put wrong size staples in the gun (someone threw a stick of oddball staples in with my T50's....that would be me). Tore it apart....kablewey....parts everywhere and no idea how to re-assemble. Thanks to your video....I now have a 2nd perfectly good powershot. Yep...I ran out and bought another new one to get the job done last night as I didn't have time to figure it out (search UA-cam) until this morning. Nice video and VERY helpful! Much appreciated!
Thank you so much! I have a Powershot from the mid-90s and the parts are slightly different but your video was perfect in helping me fix it. My husband helped me with the last bit of putting it together. Your video made me laugh because I did exactly what your wife did with another mechanical device that I broke. So glad to have found this and appreciate you sharing and taking the time.
Thanks. Took mine apart to clear a bad jam and didn't get it back together right. Followed your instructions and even re lubed it. Works better than new.
Fixed mine. Though, in your wife's defense, mine flipped out after one rack of staples and for no apparent reason I could find after exploring the jam vids. Your video works. Thanks for posting!
I never would have thought that somebody took the time to explain the re assembly off of PowerShot staple gun and for this I am very thankful I got the complete the job that I was doing and it worked... NICE TOUCH GIVING HER THE "NEW" ONE
Hi Larry. Thanks for creating this UA-cam. Managed to fix my stapler. The small "metal lug" that locates the thickest end of the plastic wedge had fractured off so I stuck a screw through in its place as a "replacement" before reassembling. All working again. Yay!!
Thanks so much for this video. I opened up my PowerShot stapler to clean it out, and everything just popped out like a jack-in-the-box! I had no clue how to re-assemble it. I watched your video and everything started to make sense. With some time and patience, it's back together and it works like new.
Screw you!! You made it look easy!!! I’ve been struggling with mine. I jammed a staple and took it apart to get it out. Didn’t realize it would explode into pieces that I didn’t know where they go. I’ve spent 1 1/2 hours trying to figure it out, while I’m in the middle of a project. Thanks for showing me where the white piece goes
My 23 year old Powershot stopped working so I went out and bought a new one. The new one could also shoot tacks, but was a worse design as far as the staple loading and loader buttons, it also only worked intermittently. So I watched this video spent an hour re-assembled the old one three times and now it finally works again. Returned the newer non functioning and probably misassembled one with a worse design today. Hope to get another 23 years out of the older better one. : )
Thanks man! I took mine completely apart to fix a bad jam and the thing exploded as soon as the last screw came free. Thanks to you, I don't have to go buy one!
Hey Justin, glad you were able to get the tool back together. Typically, you should be able to clear a stuck staple by removing the magazine, as shown here: bit.ly/2LOeUWY. However, if you experience another jam where you cannot clear the tool or if you have other issues with this tool, we'd love to touch base with you directly. Please reach out to us here or at customercare@arrowfastener.com.
Thank you!!! Especially the "good luck" getting the engine/spring back in position. The C clamp suggestion was the game changer to get that done. Saved another DIY job. Damn they make it hard to fix a jammed staple...
😁 I guess I am my own wife, as I dismantled it wrong in an attempt to get it unbound. It had staples stuck in it. Your video helped me reassemble it all by myself with no husband to help. So we wives CAN fix our own oops's lol!
Thanks so much for your video. I still can't get mine back together even with these instructions. It all pops apart every time I try to push one part in place. Probably only got 50 staples use out of this Power Shot 5700 before this happened. The plastic guide part is about to break and the little metal hammer won't stay lined up. Hope I can find my receipt. Mine is less than 6 months old and barely used. Disappointed is an understatement.
Thank you so much for this! My husband's solution was the same as your wife's - I could tell the spring was just popped so gave it a go to fix it. your video saved me a lot of time and mucking about!
Thank you so much! The innards of this beast are pretty interesting. I have no idea how it really works even after reassembling mine! Would not have been possible without your video.
Glad you figured this out! I'll give it a try... it jammed up on day one of use. Took it apart and it exploded the parts all over the garage. Figured I couldn't break it if it's already broken lol
Great information. Very nicely explained. But your camera was shaking as if there was an earth quake there. Kindly use a tripod or use an assistance for camera.
Arrow Fastener I just did it! At first I was working on the opposite half trying to mirror you since I laid most of the pieces in place until I had time to come back. But it wouldn’t stay in place as easily. Then after switching to your side I ended up using a little c-clamp to keep the front metal piece with the ledge and small metal piece still. Putting in the last 2 screws now.
Glad you were able to get it fixed! If you have any more questions about this tool, feel free to reach out to us here or by email at customercare@arrowfastener.com.
In the same boat. Suggestion for any possible future videos...invest in a tripod that will hold the camera still while you assemble with both hands. Will make it much easier for you and the vkewer.
Glad you were able to get it back together. If you run into anything else, feel free to email customercare@arrowfastener.com or 800-776-2228 for some troubleshooting help!
Good tutorial and helped me out a lot getting mine back together. A little tip for ya tho, talk louder and put a light in front of you. Your shadows made it hard to see what you were doing. Us with vision and hearing problems would very much appreciate it. Otherwise it was very informative. Thanks!!!
Glad you were able to get it back together. If you have any more issues with it, please give us a call at 800-776-2228 or email customercare@arrowfastener.com.
. This took me 3 hours, the hardest part was getting the curved spring through the notches, it would always slip out. I used a vice grip like you suggested to keep it from sliping out, and when it came time to put the plastic cover on, I slowly fitted the casing through the gap above the staple holder while releasign the vice grip. Took longer than I wanted, but it feels good to get it working again :)
3 hours? what does the tool cost $25? I tossed mine after trying to get it back together for about an hour. Couldn't get front fork to stay inside the hammer. I tried several different ways and whenever I tried to put the top case on it would pop. Time/money, you have to know when to cut your losses. Now my only decision is whether or not to get another one or use the original.
Would love if you could do another video of this same thing but this time make sure that the camera is actually showing the stapler at all times, and just move a bit slower so we can follow along without having to constantly pause with greasy fingers.
You cut out the most important part, getting that main spring to snap in the back. You have to have bionic strength to get that to snap back. That was the only thing I could not do, so how you did that would have been helpful. Mine is still broke because I can't set the spring.
Big thanks. Mine exploded when I opened to fix a jam. One tweak.... Line up rack/end piece to rack before loading/inserting spring tension. If not the bolt hole of staple rack won't line up.
I got all the way up to the end where you put the tray back in and the holes wouldn't aline and I couldn't get the casing to fit back on snug. Its been about two hours. I gave it a genuine attempt but I'm going with the option that your wife chose lol
I gave up too. Simple to get it all back together until I reached the part where you have to get the engine/spring over the little edge. Every attempt ended with the whole thing falling apart. After several attempts and very greasy hands, I decided to buy a new one. Safer, easier and well worth the $22 to get a new one. I don't even care that it ended up in the landfill!
Hey there, we do stand behind this tool with a warranty, so please give us a call at 800-776-2228 or email customercare@arrowfastener.com, and we will find a solution with you!
this video is great...just need to pause and go back a bunch. HEY I got a .5in x .5in square piece of flat metal that yours didn't have...any idea where that would go?
@@jerrysommer5379, thanks for the response! We don't recommend disassembling this tool because that often happens after putting the tool back together; additionally, a full disassembly voids the product warranty. We actually have a special tool at our Saddle Brook, New Jersey, headquarters to assemble this staple gun! Thanks for sticking with one of our tools, and good luck on your projects. 👍
I'm only 3.5 minutes in. I appreciate your experience in this, but I'd like to suggest maybe slowing down for folks like me. I'm a single mom with literally no idea what I'm doing and I can't afford to do what your wife did. Lol. Maybe after each of the main pieces are in place, show us what it should look like before moving on to installing the next piece. Again, thank you! Hopefully I get this thing back together.
Hey Susan, if you're still struggling to get this back together, please give us a call at 800-776-2228 or email customercare@arrowfastener.com, and we can help you out!
Question: Have you remade this video with the corrections you mentioned 7 months ago and posted that version? I was doing OK up until the point where the video was paused then resumed without showing how that incredibly stiff piece of steel was forced back into place.
It's hers and till you forget where you put yours. I am thinking I like the wife's idea. Just buy another stupid stapler. I can't get mine to load staples as channel too narrow . oh and I was getting a tiff neck watching video as stapler would run to top of frame and i'd foolishly thinking I could see it by lifting my head higher. Ha. Just had to wait till your left hand camera operation got unit back in frame.
Hey there, sorry you've been having issues loading your stapler! This tool works with T50 staples up to 17/32-inch, as well as 5/8-inch and 9/16-inch brad nails, and you should be able to load the tool from the back, as shown here: ua-cam.com/video/FsVq10PHkog/v-deo.html. We're happy to chat with you here or at customercare@arrowfastener.com to troubleshoot what could be going on and see if it falls within our warranty!
I found this piece of crap at the thrift store! I see why someone got rid of it! After the gun kept jamming, I had to take it apart. Watched the video and you skipped the part that I needed help with! What a waste of my time! That engine was a monster. You said I'll be right back and like magic, it was fixed! I threw it in the trash. Won't be back.
It was great up until the part where the engine had to be pushed up in place. Then you said you'd be right back, & suddenly it was in place with no explanation! That's where I'm having trouble; I took the unit apart because there was a broken staple stuck in it. Will check a couple other videos to see how to push the back end of the engine up into its slot...
Sorry about that! I lost that video clip. You'll want to put the front in first, then clamp it with vise grips or something. Then you'll need to pry the back into place.
larry averitt I found another video that shows it, but it still wasn't easy. Got it back together & working again! Guess I should have been more careful when I took it apart, LOL.
Yea I noticed that too. When I tried to put mine together the fork kept popping out of the hammer. Couldn't get the front case on. After an hour I tossed it, time/money. Great concept but judging by the amount of people who replied to this site I have to realize this tool needs improvement before I through $25 away on another one.
Yeah, without that bit the entire video is sort of useless. On attempt #4 I managed to shoot the head bit into orbit, so, having wasted several hours on the damn thing, I still have to go buy a replacement. Ugh.

But get a damn tripod dude.

how did you get the engine arm to bend and lock in place?
Yeah! He shut off the video on the most important part!
Thank you. This video was very helpful.
Thank you very much for your video my wife did the same thing now I put my back together and it works great

Thanks for the video. Got mine fixed so we can tackle a reupholstering project on our Corona quarantine.

Ugh.
Thank you 😊 so much
Very helpful thank you.
Lmao @ the wife broke. Exactly why im watching this now! Hope i can fix her or the gun
Could you shake your camera a little more? I almost got to see how the thing fits together. Uff
Your right that is hard to put back on
"The wife" comment 🤣
You need to have someone to hold camrà.
Cause you move too much and out focus.
I needed to know how to put the “engine” in place. 🙄
