You rock! I was nearly convinced my broken PowerShot was headed for the trash, but stubborn me said, “Open it up, have a look and at least see if it’s fixable” so I did and got it working again with much confidence from your video. Thank you so much!
I salute you for attempting to demonstrate this, but this was infuriating to try to follow. Really bad camera work. Thankfully I found this much more concise and clearly filmed demo of this same rebuild: ua-cam.com/video/Qb4W7WLL9Y0/v-deo.htmlsi=0JjaOttuBZZByP51 ua-cam.com/video/Qb4W7WLL9Y0/v-deo.htmlsi=0JjaOttuBZZByP51
Question: Have you remade this video with the corrections you mentioned 7 months ago and posted that version? I was doing OK up until the point where the video was paused then resumed without showing how that incredibly stiff piece of steel was forced back into place.
“The hard part is getting the engine back up there. I’ll be right back.” And you don’t show how you put the engine back in. Most of the stapler is cut out of frame thru most of the video. Dude. Really?! I got sea sick watching this thing.
Well... all i basically saw was your feet! can you please redo this video with camera stable, because you moved it around so much didnt see the actual assembly..
LOUSY Video. Keep the project centered .Too much bouncing . Totally disappointed . Most important reason for watching was how did you get the main spring in, and YOU JUMPED RIGHT OVER THAT !!! GGGEEEZZZZ man that is the hardest part of the reassembly!!! Folks when I bought mine they only had a two-year warranty. Now I see on their website it is a life time guarantee . Save some trouble. Keep proof of purchase and get a new one from Arrow.
Thanks so much for this video. I opened up my PowerShot stapler to clean it out, and everything just popped out like a jack-in-the-box! I had no clue how to re-assemble it. I watched your video and everything started to make sense. With some time and patience, it's back together and it works like new.
Hello Everyone - I really can't believe this video has been so popular. In 6 years, 190k views. And Arrow uses it like it's their own :) I'll be remaking this video, with a tripod and without skipping the difficult part that requires 2 hands and a clamp. Until then, if you subscribe, I might actually be able to monitize this and make stapler fix-it videos into it's very own channel.
What's up with the "Be right back" crap? You stop filming then when you start again your stapler is ready to have the spring reinstalled. You omitted the process of putting the fork into place. Why would you do that? Clearly it's the most difficult part to install. So why is that not shown? You didn't want people to see you struggle & possibly look foolish. At least you showed where the pieces go & in what orientation. Still gotta give it thumb down for skipping the crucial step.
In the same boat. Suggestion for any possible future videos...invest in a tripod that will hold the camera still while you assemble with both hands. Will make it much easier for you and the vkewer.
You cut out the most important part, getting that main spring to snap in the back. You have to have bionic strength to get that to snap back. That was the only thing I could not do, so how you did that would have been helpful. Mine is still broke because I can't set the spring.
My 23 year old Powershot stopped working so I went out and bought a new one. The new one could also shoot tacks, but was a worse design as far as the staple loading and loader buttons, it also only worked intermittently. So I watched this video spent an hour re-assembled the old one three times and now it finally works again. Returned the newer non functioning and probably misassembled one with a worse design today. Hope to get another 23 years out of the older better one. : )
I found this piece of crap at the thrift store! I see why someone got rid of it! After the gun kept jamming, I had to take it apart. Watched the video and you skipped the part that I needed help with! What a waste of my time! That engine was a monster. You said I'll be right back and like magic, it was fixed! I threw it in the trash. Won't be back.
Alright, stapler jammed multiple times. Got frustrated. Took it apart. Despaired. Watched this vid on YT. Cleaned, lubed, reassembled. Cussed a lot, but it works like a champ now. Thanks! Saved me the price of a new one!
Thanks. Took mine apart to clear a bad jam and didn't get it back together right. Followed your instructions and even re lubed it. Works better than new.
Thank you so much! I have a Powershot from the mid-90s and the parts are slightly different but your video was perfect in helping me fix it. My husband helped me with the last bit of putting it together. Your video made me laugh because I did exactly what your wife did with another mechanical device that I broke. So glad to have found this and appreciate you sharing and taking the time.
Would love if you could do another video of this same thing but this time make sure that the camera is actually showing the stapler at all times, and just move a bit slower so we can follow along without having to constantly pause with greasy fingers.
Great information. Very nicely explained. But your camera was shaking as if there was an earth quake there. Kindly use a tripod or use an assistance for camera.
Fixed mine. Though, in your wife's defense, mine flipped out after one rack of staples and for no apparent reason I could find after exploring the jam vids. Your video works. Thanks for posting!
Not an easy thing to demo! Thanks for doing it!
Very helpful thank you.

Thank you very much for your video my wife did the same thing now I put my back together and it works great
Lmao @ the wife broke. Exactly why im watching this now! Hope i can fix her or the gun

Could you shake your camera a little more? I almost got to see how the thing fits together. Uff

Your camera work is unparalleled. I hear Hollywood calling. Do not answer. Please, for the love of God just don't.

which screw driver used to disassemble the frame , how you removed the black screws
Qlpphp
That was an Event. It's working. Thanks
Came home to a totally dismantled staple gun 😮. Your video was money, thank you!! Up & running once again..
5:08 "I'll be right back" and you cut out the most important part.

sorry about that - I'll work on creating a better version of this video. It was difficult, requiring multiple vice-grips and some luck :)
Did not work for me. Guide was blocking top section from going together. I'll just buy another one

I needed to know how to put the “engine” in place. 🙄
Thank you.. For being such a bad aim , you sure made a thorough video. and. you showed all the important parts. . Great job
Sir, do you have a tripod or something upon which to rest your camera? Just saying...I feel like riding a roller-coaster watching the video!
Thank you
Here the hard part.. then doesn’t show how to do it. Thanks
Thank you sir....I mistakenly remove my PowerShot guntucker....
Thank you SO much for making this video....never thought I'd find a video to fix my PowerShot! You are a GOD Sir!!!!
Thanks so much! And boy was the introduction spot on for me :D
I can't believe I got this thing back together! Thank you!
You need to have someone to hold camrà. Cause you move too much and out focus.
how did you get the engine arm to bend and lock in place?
Yeah! He shut off the video on the most important part!

Thank you! that was a real bitch to get working again.

Why did you not show how to do the hardest part
My issue is that it doesn’t staple at all brand new from Home Depot. So annoying.
"The wife" comment 🤣

Thank you. This video was very helpful.
