I used to work at a cinema. Clean up after this movie was always a joy. Got to hear this so many times. Was also fun to see the audience stay in their seat....some singing along, some just silently nodding their heads...good times :)
this entire scene and song and energy gives me indescribable chills. did as a 6 year old kid and still does now being 25. Influenced me to become a musician one day and it happened. I hope my kids fall in love with this movie as much as i did growing up. “Music is my life man…what do you want me to do?!” - Dewey Finn
Best ending is that we know now that Rober Maxwell - the father of Ghislane owned 51% of MTV. Thats funny since one of the movie quotes is "It was called rock 'n roll, but guess what, oh no, the Man ruined that, too, with a little thing called MTV!"
RIP Kevin Clark. 2:40 I always loved that he’s wearing a Green Day shirt here! 💚⚡️ Rivkah (Katie, bass) said that Kevin got them into Green Day back then. It was his choice to wear the shirt. It’s also subtle character development and a nice touch within the movie. Since getting into Rock, the kids have their own personal taste and favorite bands now. GD is my favorite band, so I love that they’re part of Freddy’s journey too.

Had not heard that he had passed away, jesus. Him and this movie singlehandedly got me into playing drums ever since the movie came out, what a loss :( RIP
The best thing about this scene is that it's clear that Dewey/the rock band experience softened all their parents into allowing their children to continue to play. Every time I see Zach ripping his solo on his nice Gibson I can't help but think that his stuck-up father finally relented and allowed his son to have a little fun and the kids all became happier people.
I mean, not only that I mean look Ned throughout the entire movie he was debating what his job should be because he wanted to teach so badly but a part of him didn’t want to give up that rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle so for him to dump his girlfriend and realise hey I can have both I can teach and still do rock ‘n’ roll
