If you keep your tip clean with a wet soldering sponge, and then dip it in a flux paste (then wait 5-10 seconds to reheat) then you can put a small dab of solder on the iron as in the video (at least that is how I would micro solder it myself).

Built a circuit similar to this for someone that's blind. Used to fill a glass or bowl or pot with fluid without overflowing it. Simple, just used an NPN transistor, battery and buzzer.
@@samjones3106 You could providing the liquid is at a reasonable temperature. If the water is boiling hot from a kettle, not so good. In addition, the person had neuropathy, which is nerve damage so the consequence is loss of feeling the liquid.

Next, the LEVEL INDICATOR is hung on the edge of the mug. Only the probes are placed into the mug while the other components hang on the outside of the mug. The boiled water is poured slowly into the mug untill the buzzer sounds. No spillage and no scorched fingers. I watched the process many times to make minor adjustments to get just the right level. Works great to this day.

I wonder what the relay is for in this circuit. Does it switch the LED? If so, why need a relay for this? A Darlington circuit -maybe 3-fold would do the job much cheaper. Even for distilled low-conductive water.
...a BC517 will do the job, omit the relay, the Transistor give enough current to drive the LED and the bleeptone. I would use 2 transistor in a Schmitt-trigger configuration to get a defined threshold and a hysteresis. This is electronic basics

You could probably make something like this and stick it in the basement tap it off of the water heater or whatever and it would let you know when your basement starts flooding You could even wire it up to your sump pump so it automatically turns it on when a water level is detected or have an alarm go off when the sump pump fails

I wonder if this can detect water in diesel fuel,without having to pull a 5 gallon sample and then having to wait for it to separate?? I know all diesel does have a small moisture content, but as a diesel tech,I have come across several machines with contaminated fuel,but it takes quite a while to pull a good sample,then have to wait for it to separate to confirm....if this can work for that,it would save me quite a bit of time in diag for bad fuel...drop the leads into the tank...if it beeps,the fuel is bad...no beep,the fuel is good.....can anyone confirm if this concept can work? Or will any liquid trigger it?

Nice high water or over-flow alarm, with a visual tell-tale indicating its functioning status I would add a momentary switch that tested the alarm just to be sure. It could easily be altered to initiate a solenoid that started a pump.

That is called a fluid level limit switch, nice and quick setup, but you don't really need to solder. Better to build it on a breadboard its easier, also make that square wave rectifier so you have an available power supply(s)...an regulated +/- 12v, +/-6v, +/-3v, and a variable speed DC power supply. Then your Johnny experimenter.

Actually, that's the wrong way to solder. Some of those joints may be 'dry' because they haven't been heated effectively.

Hay varios sistemas hidroponicos. Este invento se podria utilizar para prevenir el derrame del agua en un sistema ebb & flow casero por ejemplo.

Useful for basements. If the sump pumps fails and the water in the collection pit is rising, the sooner you fix it, the less expensive it is.

You're not gonna want to send current through gasoline. Better to have a float in the gas tank that connects outside the tank to a sensor.
