Fun Fact, Justin: the two videos from this concert (this one and Cloud Factory) are the only ones where you see Eugene playing a 4-string bass and Roman playing his OD Guitars' Rhea. Up until the Cloud Factory album they tuned to drop C (after that they changed to drop A), so when they included the older songs in their setlist, they used to carry these two guitars to play those songs. They don't use them anymore because all the songs they play now are from the drop A albums/EP. It's kind of funny seeing Eugene using this bass because he previously used a 5-string bass when they played in drop C. 🙂
They do speak Russian. Part of Ukraine speaks Russian, and part speaks Ukrainian. From what Eugene (the bassist said in an interview, the languages are very similar, and most of the band can speak both. They can also all speak English, but apparently Tatiana, and Eugene are most fluent.
Great reaction. Few facts FYI: 1. Tati speaks Russian at the end of the video. 2. She's Russian speaking person, as well as the rest of the band. All of them except Vlad (drummer) are grown up at the East of Ukraine. Most people living there have Russian as their mother tongue. Vlad from other part of country but he's also Russian speaking person. Obviously all of them fluently speak Ukrainian. 3. All of them learned 3 languages in school - Ukrainian (as the state language), Russian (as their native language) and foreign language (English in most cases, much rarely it could be German, French or Spanish). 4. Also Tatiana learned English in Institute. She's graduated from the local Institute of Foreign Languages. She is a teacher of literature by education. As I remember Eugene also has education related with foreign languages.
Loving these jinjer reactions, yall should react to "on the top live in kiev" 🔥 and it's crazy because i do agree 100% on this song being a tool vibe, i never thought of it like that. And i seen from a couple comments that she normally writes the songs in russian at first and then she translates them into english
You are right Justin, Tati was speaking in Russian. Fun fact, when they write their music, the guys compose the music, Tati comes up with the melodies and lyrics, she writes then first in Russian, and then translates them into English. They do have a song that is entirely in Russian, it's an early Jinjer song and it's called I want it, I'll get it, there is a video for it. It's really cool, it has a definite "punk rock" feel to it. It might be a song you might want to react to. Cool reaction once again you two, and as always, stay Metal. 😊🤘🤘🤘🎶🎶🎶
This songs great! Of course I love the entire "Cloud Factory" album. So good! BTW's my sons started watching your bass videos. I started him on guitar but the boy went to the dark side after a year of playing. lolol J/K Really amazed me how good he's gotten last two years. He said what videos he's watched have been good. Now that you've heard Tatiana introduce Twelve Foot Ninja I'd suggest TFN's song Over And Out with Tatiana doing featured vocals. If you do, could you please please pleasepleaseplease instead of saying the band's name cut in Tatiana saying it because that would be awesome. Unless it's really a dumb idea and I just don't realize it - in which case, never mind haha.
Yes, they write in English for a wider audience. Most eastern and western European audiences speak English as a second language. An interesting note is that she actually writes the lyrics in Russian and then translates them into English once she is in the studio. That's why the lyrics sometimes comes across sounding very wordy. The Russian will sometimes need an entire sentence in English to say what is just one word in Russian, and vice-versa.
Great reaction on a track from their Cloud Factory album, arguably one of their best albums. I would say keep diving but go back even further...listen to the band as a 5 piece band, and with a different drummer. I am not trying to discredit Vlad at all, but just suggesting it is a great place to start as their core sound can be detected and get a better feel over all. Plus the raw energy of songs like Outlander and Sit Stay Rollover will have you feeling the more Punk elements and grateful for the free energy.

This. Both bands are well aware of each other, of course Tatiana knew about Courtney's abilities since she was in iwrestledabearonce, where she met her husband with whom she started Spiritbox. An extraordinary band. And for sure, Spiritbox is a tiny bit tired of the "female fronted" thing, as Courtney thinks it should not play a role which gender is up front. But let's face it, Jinjer and Spiritbox both are really hot metal acts that got really famous on YT during pandemia times. For a reason. They are fantastic, very different in style, but fantastic, versatile, skilled, great songwriting and lyrics. And awesome videos, too.
What's with the outfit - sponsorship! As far as knowing languages, there is an old joke. If you know three languages you are trilingual. If you know two languages you are bilingual. If you know one language you are English. Most of the world speaks more than one language it is English speakers who are the exception. Jinjer and 12 Foot Ninja had a great relationship on tour. You have to react to 12 Foot Ninja's collaboration with Tatiana. "Over and Out" (OMV) is a great song that doesn't get the love it should. 🌻💙💛
