1984 HT4100 models were "slightly" better than their 1982-1983 counterparts.

Whoa Nelley, 1984 and soon to be out the door. John Speer Cadillac is possibly Lawrence Cadillac of Abilene, TX now.
We got the VIN, we win: 1G6 for US made Cadillac, A for manual seat belts, W for Fleetwood Brougham, 69 for four door sedan, 8 for 4.1L (252 CID) V8 with DFI, Cadillac produced, aka RPO code "LT8", aka "1-2 punch out to lunch and I hear ya knockin'......", 7 is a check digit, E for the 1984 model year, 9 for Clark Street, Detroit, MI assembly and the rest is the production sequence. The Clark Street plant closed in December 1987 and the last weeks of operation can be found on YT. The HT4100 was a heap of an engine and a black eye for Cadillac, turning Cadillac loyalists into import buyers for life. It would blow in the intake gasket sending a soupy mix of coolant and oil through the engine, eventually wiping out the bottom end and totaling the engine (and sometimes the car).
We got the SPID, glad you did: AG2 for power passenger seat adjuster, AM6 for split front bench seat, AR6 for front seat restraint system, AU3 for power locks, A31 for power windows, A81 for power passenger seat recliner, A90 for power deck lid, A91 for power deck lid pulldown, B34 through B36 for front, rear and trunk mats, B84 for bodyside molding, B93 for door edge guard ornamentation, CAD for Clark Street, Detroit, MI assembly, CB5 for full vinyl padded roof (so yes, it was a vinyl top car), C49 for rear window defogger, C68 for automatic temperature control, C93 for exterior opera lamps, C97 for courtesy lamps, DC2 for inside rear view mirror with reading lamps, D60 for color/trim override, D64 for RH illuminated vanity mirror, D74 for LH illuminated vanity mirror, D98 for body accent stripe and decklid, GU6 for 3.42 rear axle ratio, K19 for AIR injector reactor system, K34 for cruise control, LT8 for 4.1L V8 HT4100 engine, MW9 for THM200-4R four speed overdrive automatic transmission, NA5 for Federal emission system, NB1 for closed loop emission system, N30 for deluxe steering wheel, N37 for tilt and telescoping steering wheel, N91 for simulated locking wire wheel covers, QKU is a tire code, T80 for automatic headlight control, T82 for automatic headlight on/off control, UB8 for high note "C" horn, UM6 for AM-FM stereo cassette with ETR and clock, UW8 for garage door opener, UY9 for MPH and KM speedometer, U66 for four speaker system, U75 for chrome power antenna, VK3 for front license plate bracket, V51 for license plate frame front and rear, V73 for US/Canada vehicle statement, YL1 for leather and vinyl upholstery, 17L and 17U for Silver lower and upper exterior paint, 17T for silver vinyl top, all of the 22 codes are for Light Royal blue trim items (seats, door panels, moldings, seat belts, etc.), among other codes. Yes, 1984 is the first year for RPO codes on passenger cars---trucks had them earlier than 1984. That decal on the fan shroud is for the "horse pill" coolant supplement campaign.
Whoa Nelley, Cadu and it's over for you. That's it, time to quit. Fleetwood now ain't no good. 4.1 and it's done. RPO "LT8" was never great. Made at Clark Street and now in defeat. Painted gray and soon to go away. Four doors and it doesn't go no more. Going to be flat and that's that. Fleetwood Brougham soon to go home. Please don't get squished because the Cadillac faithful, a few here, probably not Benny, but the Google Man is going to be very, very pissed.

Hey Benny remember this famous movie line? "Where's the Cadillac? The what? The Caddy you know the blues mobile? I traded it. You traded the blues mobile for this? No a microphone. A microphone? Okay I can see that. But what the heck is this? It's an old mount prospect police car they were practically giving them away.😂

HT 4100 engine is the worst Cadillac engine ever produced !! They were gutless piles of crap. As an added bonus, they would overheat and warp the cylinders in the aluminum blocks. They only had 3 torx head bolts holding the flex plate to the crankshaft flange, Lol Absolute garbage !!
