An attempted Taiwan invasion is the worst mistake the CCP would make. It's also difficult to imagine what mainland china would look like after the war, let alone Taiwan.

Fun facts about the recent military drills as a Taiwanese🇹🇼:
1. The military drills didn’t even make it to the most searched keyword in Taiwan, instead it was a Japanese celebrities’ love affair.
2. Taiwan’s stock market continues to rise while China’s collapse drastically.
3. The Taiwanese military did pretty well on deterring their enemies, China’s J16 fighter jets were targeted and locked tightly by Taiwanese F-16Vs, which means they were one button-press away from being shot down.
It's no surprise that China is so jealous of Taiwan.

One of these drills won't be a drill.
I've been living in Taiwan more than 20 years .. There is no possible way to invade Taiwan without having a massive armada of ships to transport troops across the strait .. It is impossible to hide such a build up .. US and Japan and Taiwan all have radars and satellites. There is a huge difference between sailing some boats around, flying some ships around, rattling the sabre vs actually being physically prepared to invade.. You can't simply turn a drill into an invasion on a greater scale than D-Day.

Taiwan is not alone. The US Navy’s Roosevelt CSG is currently operating in the South China Sea and the Washington CSG is scheduled to replace the Reagan in its forward deployed role homeported in Japan before the year is out.
The "military exercises" are regularly done that I'm not surprised if Taiwan started to hold a festival everytime they did so, complete with food that are now expensive in China, and several trade expo that would never successfully happen in China.

2 carrier strike groups is exactly what's needed in the region, also the USA might wanna consider deploying "brawling" boats like what China is doing with their coast guard. Ships that use non-lethal weaponry to deter Chinese ships that get too close to American ships... this would make the CCP very unforgettable in the region and make it very clear that if China invades Taiwan it's WWIII, not that that wasn't obvious to everyone, but the CCP needs to be constantly reminded what a terrible idea this would be for them.
