Ok a-ha, famous in america for take on me, this song was from their 2nd album in 1986. They are from Norway. They are still touring and their last album was released last November. Morten is one of the best vocalists of all time. That performance was from 1991. Morten is now 63 and still. An awesome singer. He is known to have a five octave range. a-ha have two Guinness book records, for 198,000 attendance at a concert in the 90’s in Brazil. And morten has a record holding long note in the song summer moved on. I’ve been an a-ha fan since I was 12, I’m now 50. They have 11 studio albums and quite a few live albums. They are well know for changing the style of music from album to album. Originally a syth band, but also lots of rock, blues even jazz elements. I’d definitely recommend their 1986 track I’ve been losing you. Another rock pop track and a fan favourite, with a chorus that will stick in your head. Howdy from Dublin Ireland ! 😊

I had to import all their albums not released here in the US. I love them all. Alphaville is another I had to import and it was worth it. ❤

Ladies you really need to listen to more a-ha…I guarantee you will love them even more. This live performance was 1991 when Morten Harket the lead singer was 32 and he’s almost 64 now, his voice is still amazing and he is still very handsome. But it’s the music a-ha has made for 4 decades on 11 studio & 2 live albums which will wow you more than the band’s undoubted good looks. They were lost to the American public after their first two hits…the massive hit Take On Me, followed by The Sun Always Shines On TV, because the band who are Norwegian did not want to keep making the same type of catchy pop music each time… and be marketed as a trio of heartthrobs for teenage girls as their record label Warner’s wanted to do. They wanted be seen as a band of serious musicians who could create uniquely different and diverse music from the run of the mill pop groups. They also wanted to stay in Europe, based in London - which was nearer to home in Norway where they’re from and where their families lived, whilst Warner’s wanted them to move to the USA. They have a big fan base in Europe and the rest of the world especially in South America where they performed to over 3 million people at 25 concerts in 1991, collecting a Guinness World Record along the way for the biggest paying audience at a rock concert at Rock in Rio ‘91 with 198,000. They have now sold an estimated minimum of 100 million units of music (albums & singles) during their almost 40 year career. Thank you for listening to and reviewing my favourite band…I urge you to listen to more tracks and I see I’ve Been Losing You has already been suggested, but there are scores of great ones to pick from…too many in fact, and I can guarantee they’re all great!

Morten Harket (like Michael Hutchence from INXS) was one of those 1980s lead singers you just accepted your girlfriends were crazy for. You didn't hate them, you just wished you were them!

I prefer the studio version. Such a pounder!
Manhattan Skyline is my favorite A~ha song and one of my all time favorites of any band. If I could take only 25 songs with me to a deserted island to live the rest of my life, I’d take Manhattan Skyline.
We talk about the “power ballads” of the 80’s from groups like Poison, Motley Crue, Whitesnake, etc….but this is the ultimate power ballad. From Morton’s increasingly urgent vocals to the switch-up to guitar chords, this song is brilliant.

My absolute favourite song of theirs. After 9/11 I would play this over and over and just cry. I finally found a vinyl pressing from Germany. Most of their work was not released in the US. I love all their music. Like Alphaville, in love with wash album not released here. Hard to track down but so worth it. ❤

This was amazing, watching three ladies of different ages react to a-ha. Lulu has a great taste. Morten is one handsome guy with a great style. Maybe I should say was, I guess his style nowadays would be a little off for her taste. Check out the pictures from the 80's with leather straps, torn jeans and patches. These guys are awesome.

Thank you for sharing and your good mood.❤️I just realize now that this very good ''live'' from a-ha would be a beautiful tribute to the victims of September 11, 2001...🇨🇵🙏🏻🇺🇸 2024, yes still fan of this very good group ∆-H∆

Haha - been privileged enough to see them live. The 3 Norwegians are very good looking yes, but also incredibly talented. Not everyone looks good in leather pants - so by all means mention it! You won't go wrong listening to more a-ha. ⚘

A ha's music videos are very good: Take on Me, The Sun Always Shine on TV and Manhattan Skyline. I'm happy that you're discovering this one of the iconic bands of the 80s and that, here in Brazil, broke an audience record at Rock in Rio! His successes are very famous here, especially among those who lived through A ha's heyday, between the 80s and 90s.
Please watch the original music video for Hunting High and Low.
    Brazilian greetings. success!

Hello ladies,im guessing from the high resemblance, that this is 3 generations from the same family? I have raided alot of channels with my favourite metal band Nightwish, and i have seen alot of duos (brother, sister,or husband and wife,or other similar relations, but this might be one of the few ocassions i have seen 3 various generations react together, and i LOVE it!)
Theese guys has been with me basically ALL my life,as my mom and my grandpa together bought theyr debut album to me in 1985,alongside my first ever walkman. It was my first favourite band, and they have never withered,i would say instead they have just elevated on my favourite bands list as the years has gone by.
Try to think of any band out there, that has managed to stay together for 41 years and counting. A few healthy breaks they have taken, but always came back together. The original lineup, they have never has "substitute" or replacement members. A-ha has theyr own liveband extension for when they tour, but thats it.
It always baffled me that rolling stone magazine and the US in general, accompanied by other countries in the world categorize them as a 1 hit wonder. Wich is not true,as they got tons of songs that are actually way better lyrics and composed songs then Take On Me. They basically only got somewhat punished by coming from Norway,i feel like.
Imagine if they came from The US? They would have been living legends today. I never liked nor understood why it has to matter where you come from,if the music is good and the talent is impressive, the band should get the same recognition regardless. Its ironic how Norway hasnt had any other band or artist make a breakthrough like A-ha did ever since. The closest ones are a childhood friend duo called Nico & Vinz. You might have heard theyr first song released several years ago called Am I Wrong? They actually moved over to the US to pursure a change of copying A-ha,and they have come really close.... but no cigar yet. (Dont smoke kids, its bad for you!)
Back to you ladies,i enjoyed seeing the youngest being really invested in both the music as well as the performance, and even Mortens leather pants! She had me falling over! But Morten has MANY admirers all over the world,so shes not alone for checking him *ahem* his style out hahaha. Females or gay men, they all have crushed on Morten. And he describes his style as "i just mix different clothes together wich i feel comfortable in,its no real trend at all,i just mix them up". Funfact,Paal aka Paul on guitar in this performance thanked Morten for his wife Lauren Waaktaar-Savoy paying attention to him, wich resulted into them realizing they felt a mutual attraction and BOOM,they became a couple. Paul had not had much luck in his love life before he met Lauren.
They also created a sideproject band together, wich they simply called Savoy (It was Pauls idea to name it Savoy,to show his love not only for Lauren, but the amount of acceptance and love he received from her family, when Lauren presented her new boyfriend at the time in Paul) If you are curious how Savoy sounds like, how about theyr first hit together where Lauren has the main vocals? It even has a official video on YT: Savoy - Star (Im Not Stupid Baby) Its said to be Laurens own declaration of her love towards Paul for becoming a part of her life. They are of course husband and wife today, with a top apartment in New York where Lauren comes from,so they can be closer to Laurens family, and a big family house in Norway,so they can more easily visit Pauls family as well) They got a all grown up boy together as well, named True August Waaktaar-Savoy(his artist name, his birth name was Augie, and yes he walks in the footsteps of mom and dad, creating music on his own)
A-ha suggestion? How about a video that they shot and had directed in ...... *drumroll* 🥁New York! 🥁 a-ha - You Are the One (Official Video) This doesnt get suggested as one of the first songs, but it is seriously a contender to many new A-ha supporters as a new "favourite song",after they hear it. You get to see the guys out of theyr comfort zone walking the streets of New York, and being seriously goofy in between. A feelgood song!!
