      Hey sorry for the late reply but I actually don’t have any clutching or tuning done yet. I have kept it pretty stock this far!

    I put one of these in my pro xp. i dont have a belt temp gauge but a figured it would be something good to have. Almost wonder if you had snorkels if you put it on the heat exhaust side blowing out if the numbers would be better

    • @SchmidtysOffroad
      @SchmidtysOffroad  Рік тому

      That would actually be a really good idea, never though of that! It would definitely help pull heat away from it, I would wonder if it’s better for cooling than having it setup how it currently is. I haven’t seen a ton of snorkels in the Pro but if they have enough room that would be a interesting idea to try out!

    Whats all the fan noise you can hear during the video. Both before and after the blower was used.

      It’s the S&B particle separator. It was right behind the GoPro so it’s pretty loud I just realized it in this video though. I did have the fender well version and it was quieter but I couldn’t get it to work right so I changed to the one that bolts to the roll cage

    How did you attach the sak it?

    • @SchmidtysOffroad
      @SchmidtysOffroad  Рік тому

      I have done it two ways, the first one is through the holes right above the exhaust cover, you can fish it through them (kinda a pain in the butt) but you can. I just recently added two eyelets and drilled into the rear plastic where I wanted them to go and now I use those! It’s a lot easier to take it off and on.

    Have you had time to test it in the dunes yet? Similar results?

    • @SchmidtysOffroad
      @SchmidtysOffroad  Рік тому +1

      I didn’t take it off when I was in the dunes but when we went in March the highest temp I saw was 148 and that was running 4wd back to back drags in the sand. As soon as I came to a stop it brought the temp down really fast so I definitely think it works! I haven’t noticed any downsides at least.

      @@SchmidtysOffroad awesome. Yea I ended up buying one a month ago and went to the dunes with it after I got it. I figured the same thing at least keeping it in neutral and letting it cool it down when stopped would help more then hurt. I don’t have a temp gauge though so thanks for the input!

      @SchmidtysOffroad  Рік тому

      For sure! I would make sure you clean your clutches often though because with that fan it’ll pull more dust in so just keep it clean and you should be good to go!

      @@SchmidtysOffroad I noticed that. You can see all the sand cake on the vents after riding for a little.

    Since you have a razorback gauge why wouldn't you opt for their fan as well? It connects to the gauge and adjusts the speed of the fan based on the belt temp. Plus, the max air movement is 430 CFM vs RPM's at only 225 CFM. That's 91% more airflow.

    • @SchmidtysOffroad
      @SchmidtysOffroad  9 місяців тому

      They didn’t have it released when I got this setup. I had been watching their testing on that setup before I got this. I think the razorback setup is the ticket because like you said, it pushes more CFM and it’s variable so I think as the belt warms up it pushes more air

    • @Duneriding
      @Duneriding 9 місяців тому

      @SchmidtysOffroad you are correct. By default the razorback pushes at a constant 5% whenever the power is on. Then it increased in speed based on the belt temp. However, they allow you to go in and adjust all of those numbers.

    The fan only comes on around 3k rpm or lower cause its made for low speed riding and the factory cooler ramps up higher then the rpm one so..... and they said this on there video

      I have had mine pretty hot but still hasn’t gone yet. I have smelt the belt maybe 2-3 times and then inspected it and it looks good still. Over 1000 miles on the original belt

    Not seeing the need to add this device for such little gain. Belt management starts at the skinny pedal and knowing when to go to low. I wonder what happens to the belt temp when that fan fails and now you have a restriction on the inlet???....hmmmm....there is another test for ya!

    • @SchmidtysOffroad
      @SchmidtysOffroad  5 місяців тому

      Fan works so well haven’t had that issue! It works better than what that video showed. I went to the dunes and I have stock clutching but ran 32” paddle tires. I was doing back to back races with another pro xp that didn’t have a fan and my temps stayed 10 degrees cooler on average and when we came to a stop my temps went down immediately. His actually increased for a few minutes before cooling down.
