I have been a desktop user for 12 years and gaming laptop for 5 years but honestly speaking i regret gaming on laptop because of small key spacing. even though I solved it by using external keyboard and mouse. My family were not enjoying the movies on the laptop because of smaller screen. Need speakers separately and cooling pad also. I could have literally built a gaming PC. with even higher specs of my laptop at 50k. 😢😢 i rarely move my laptops also and my display got broken recently and it costs 15k where as a new 24 inch monitor with 100 hz costs 6k only. even if I repair and resale it. Its value is 20k now i am stuck with it. i can't throw it away also so just bought a monitor and using it. and now i am buying a 15k laptop. i would suggest everyone to build a gaming pc and a normal usage laptop.
True..I am a college student (Bsc CS)..I don't know, if there will be really any need when I have to carry my laptop to the college..I have bought a 80K laptop and sometimes I feel, I could have built a pc with far more better specs.. however I am using my laptop as a pc with 1600 cooling pad, 1.4K keyboard and mouse, 1.5K speakers which increase the total cost a lot more. And also, the performance is not optimal like it's been only 10 months and a lot of dust has gone inside my laptop which is causing heating issues. It's touching 95° -100° C sometimes. If I have built a pc, I don't have to face these issues. Also, sitting on a chair, the distance from my eyes to the laptop is high for a 15.6" screen. I have to zoom texts sometimes to read what is on the screen. So, I will probably buy a 24" monitor soon. I'm feeling like I am building a Desktop with my laptop. I have to plug it on most of the time, when I want to use my laptop. Like, I am not actually getting the benefit of a laptop (enjoying movies while keeping it on the lap, running just on the battery).
I own the ROG Strix G17(2022) which cost me 1.80Lakh. Purchased in May 2023, no issues so far but the only con about this laptop is that it has liquid metal which dissipates the processor's heat an Aluminium sink(replacing the LM with PTM7950). otherwise I'm very happy with my purchase. no issues so far.
I disagree with one point, and that is the build quality factor. Typically, the build quality in gaming laptops is far superior to that of their average counterparts. Yes, not every gaming laptop is built like a tank, but the majority of them are, so all you have to do is do a little research before you buy one and you're good to go.

Avoid buying a gaming laptop. My Asus Rog conked off. It was 2 months out of warranty and Asus quoted the same price as the original laptop purchase price for replacing the motherboard. Saw another customer who had a similar issue and had to shell out nearly 2 lakhs. So, I am stuck with a 2 year old brick (purchased in 2021).
I have a gaming laptop that costs about 80 k . The build quality is really good . I travel daily to college in metro ,bus have not faced a problem . The battery backup for it being a 2 year old laptop is also good . I manage to get about 5-6hours these days used to get 7 before but it's enough for college . As for the weight yes it is around 2.5 kg but haven't faced a problem with carrying it daily

Most of the new gen laptops come with different low power/ battery saver / quiet fan modes, and laptops like Lenovo LOQ are slimmer than the Heavy ROG laptops yet give the same output. Basically most of the problems you addressed are getting nullified as the tech improves.
@@ProtonM-uq7op I'm currently using a laptop from 2015 and it's supposed to be a thin and light machine from that era, and it's 2.6-3kg. LOQ being 2.4 kg and yet being a gaming laptop is what I was trying to say. Even in the past few years things have changed in such a manner. I think Lenovo has a light, gaming laptop series as well, I might have mixed up the two.

Rare problem, it's not very common for such issues to happen. Why don't you try non-Asus associated local laptop shops? Or maybe sell the laptop, or it's parts?
i am going to buy a gaming latop soon i really liked u explained the problems but since i know someone who have a gaming laptop i want to tell you that gaming laptops have great quality in them but few dont so it its not a problem with every brand, gotta say u did a great job at this
i forgot to tell that same like the quality the colour also is with brands so it is diffrent in every laptop and thier very heavy due to them having top notch components and even their cooling systems are great so i recommend you go to a service center for cooling

Tuff is 100x better than Rog.. it's battery lasts for 6-7hrs easily on normal use (browsing, coding, movies) and when it comes to gaming it performs better than Rog.
Bro totally depends upon the CPU, GPU, & RAM. I've compared TUF & ROG .... in my opinion ROG gives a more premium feel .. which was why I chose ROG over TUF. Heavy gaming wasn't my priority back then. ☺️

Brother let me tell you something Ive ps4 buying ps5 soon I play games so often on big screen in very high resolution Even on projector. Very happy with it And i had 2 thin laptops on is from hp and new one is infinix x2 slim i5 /16GB/512 GB when i travel i play mk 10 tomb raider injustice 2, sleeping dog, batman all games. And that works perfectly fine.. So in my opinion buying a console is best... Coz it never get old, too much of games options and still you want to play thin laptops can play ps3 games easily.. 😊😊😊

Bro if I were you, them I'd either extend my budget for a 100% srgb lappy or I'd lower down my expectations with GPU & pick a 100% srgb laptop in my budget. Remember GPU can be upgraded, but not screen. Or you can start with nitro 60% srgb & get an ext. Monitor with 100% srgb. Multiple options, totally depends upon your use case. 😊 .... I've a lot of friends who own different gaming pcs, Acer Nitro, Pavallion, Asus Tuf, ROG, predator , etc...... kisi ki bhi build quality achhi nahi hai ... compare it to professional laptops of HP or Apple of the same price range. Mere laptop ke keyboard pr crack ana, lit ka mur jana shows how fragile these laptops are .. jabki mene apne HP ProBook laptop ko bhot ROZ se zada roughly handle kiya ... lekim HP ke lappy kk kuchh ni hua .... Long story short .... comparison kisse kiya ja raha hai ... vo matter krta hai ... baki creators say ki build quality achhi hai in it's segment of gaming lappys .... they don't compare normal laptops with gaming ones. I hope I was able to justify my concern .... 😅

I DIdnot face your cons, i am using my asus tuf a 15 for 2.5 years .. i travel to college come back home play games with the laptop . There is not even a single body damage on my laptop though i treat very rough. performs really good. temps stays under 80c while playing games .. and while doing normal task it gives me around 5hr backup on battery even after 2.5 years. and yes it also costed me around 75k with ryzen 7 4800h and rtx 3050 model

It will give you the most immersive experience with opportunity to upgrade your screen (maybe even a curved monitor or maybe a dual/triple monitor setup which one of my coder friend uses) ... The PC will cost you less coz you can customize it as per ur choice.... I guess you haven't done any research before purchase 😑 i purchased same model with Rtx 3050ti with Ryzen 7 4800H with 16GB ram at 72k on Amazon sale, so waste of money with 1650 2. Body design, Trust me im careless person and rough use my laptop still it's working new as it's. 3. You need to change location bcz as per my knowledge and friends feedback Asus ,Dell and Hp are doing great in service. 4. Heating issue i agree but if you working under a A/C room then it's total normal 5. Last if you want to play games only then go for PC, I won't suggest anyone to purchase laptop for gaming.... You will get descent pc at 75-80k with Rtx 1660ti or 3060ti

Bro I haven't used that model, so can't say it's the best or not. But I'd say 1.1Lac is a decent budget... think of other factors too apart from the processor & graphic card. Go to showrooms of all these brands & get a hands-on feel ... that's what I did. :)
helios is good other good option is Lenovo Loq which is in the same price range and one which is little more proffesional looking and more understated is HP Omen although it will be little costly than these two but thats a good option if you are looking for something like that

Everything you said is completely true..but also I would say, the biggest advantage is that, after you buy a gaming laptop, there is not really any task that you can't run smoothly..Like you have all the ways open..use it or leave it is your choice..but when we buy a normal thin and light laptop, we block a lot of things initially. That's the biggest disadvantage. So, if you can carry weight, if you are okay with all the cooling fans that run on 2000 rpm all the time, if you are okay with poor battery backup with long charging time..then most welcome, you can perform any task and experience any game you want. (One more thing: I am a Nitro 5 i5-12500H user, and Windows is not really optimised for my device, like the waking up time from sleep is too long. But, in the thin and light or evo laptops, windows is optimised very good as far as I have seen. So, keep this in mind also)

And if I talk about Nitro 5, I am completely happy with it..I have just one complaint, the hinges could be better. It's good, but each time I want to open my lid, it creates a little noise, very little. Overall in terms of performance, battery backup, display quality it's worth it and even value for money. I bought it for 78K (8gb). If you get it for 70-72K you can definitely consider this one. And in my opinion it's still better than the new nitro with RYX 4050, if you ignore the 6gb vram.

I have been a desktop user for 12 years and gaming laptop for 5 years but honestly speaking i regret gaming on laptop because of small key spacing. even though I solved it by using external keyboard and mouse. My family were not enjoying the movies on the laptop because of smaller screen. Need speakers separately and cooling pad also. I could have literally built a gaming PC. with even higher specs of my laptop at 50k. 😢😢 i rarely move my laptops also and my display got broken recently and it costs 15k where as a new 24 inch monitor with 100 hz costs 6k only. even if I repair and resale it. Its value is 20k now i am stuck with it. i can't throw it away also so just bought a monitor and using it. and now i am buying a 15k laptop. i would suggest everyone to build a gaming pc and a normal usage laptop.
True..I am a college student (Bsc CS)..I don't know, if there will be really any need when I have to carry my laptop to the college..I have bought a 80K laptop and sometimes I feel, I could have built a pc with far more better specs.. however I am using my laptop as a pc with 1600 cooling pad, 1.4K keyboard and mouse, 1.5K speakers which increase the total cost a lot more. And also, the performance is not optimal like it's been only 10 months and a lot of dust has gone inside my laptop which is causing heating issues. It's touching 95° -100° C sometimes. If I have built a pc, I don't have to face these issues. Also, sitting on a chair, the distance from my eyes to the laptop is high for a 15.6" screen. I have to zoom texts sometimes to read what is on the screen. So, I will probably buy a 24" monitor soon. I'm feeling like I am building a Desktop with my laptop. I have to plug it on most of the time, when I want to use my laptop. Like, I am not actually getting the benefit of a laptop (enjoying movies while keeping it on the lap, running just on the battery).

Purchased in May 2023, no issues so far but the only con about this laptop is that it has liquid metal which dissipates the processor's heat an Aluminium sink(replacing the LM with PTM7950). otherwise I'm very happy with my purchase. no issues so far.

I disagree with one point, and that is the build quality factor. Typically, the build quality in gaming laptops is far superior to that of their average counterparts. Yes, not every gaming laptop is built like a tank, but the majority of them are, so all you have to do is do a little research before you buy one and you're good to go.

I have a gaming laptop that costs about 80 k . The build quality is really good . I travel daily to college in metro ,bus have not faced a problem . The battery backup for it being a 2 year old laptop is also good . I manage to get about 5-6hours these days used to get 7 before but it's enough for college . As for the weight yes it is around 2.5 kg but haven't faced a problem with carrying it daily

Most of the new gen laptops come with different low power/ battery saver / quiet fan modes, and laptops like Lenovo LOQ are slimmer than the Heavy ROG laptops yet give the same output. Basically most of the problems you addressed are getting nullified as the tech improves.

LOQ being 2.4 kg and yet being a gaming laptop is what I was trying to say. Even in the past few years things have changed in such a manner. i forgot to tell that same like the quality the colour also is with brands so it is diffrent in every laptop and thier very heavy due to them having top notch components and even their cooling systems are great so i recommend you go to a service center for cooling

Tuff is 100x better than Rog.. it's battery lasts for 6-7hrs easily on normal use (browsing, coding, movies) and when it comes to gaming it performs better than Rog.
Bro totally depends upon the CPU, GPU, & RAM. I've compared TUF & ROG .... in my opinion ROG gives a more premium feel .. which was why I chose ROG over TUF. Heavy gaming wasn't my priority back then. ☺️

Bro if I were you, them I'd either extend my budget for a 100% srgb lappy or I'd lower down my expectations with GPU & pick a 100% srgb laptop in my budget. Remember GPU can be upgraded, but not screen. Or you can start with nitro 60% srgb & get an ext. Monitor with 100% srgb. Multiple options, totally depends upon your use case. 😊 .... I DIdnot face your cons, i am using my asus tuf a 15 for 2.5 years .. i travel to college come back home play games with the laptop .
There is not even a single body damage on my laptop though i treat very rough. performs really good. temps stays under 80c while playing games .. and while doing normal task it gives me around 5hr backup on battery even after 2.5 years. and yes it also costed me around 75k with ryzen 7 4800h and rtx 3050 model

Bro if u're 10000% sure that u don't want portability then go with PC any day! It will give you the most immersive experience with opportunity to upgrade your screen (maybe even a curved monitor or maybe a dual/triple monitor setup which one of my coder friend uses) ... The PC will cost you less coz you can customize it as per ur choice.... Just make sure u go with a RTX3050 or higher with 2TB SSD Ryzen 5600H or above ... 120Hz or above refresh rate screen with 100% srgb ....

Okay, i have lot of things to correct..... 1. I guess you haven't done any research before purchase 😑 i purchased same model with Rtx 3050ti with Ryzen 7 4800H with 16GB ram at 72k on Amazon sale, so waste of money with 1650
2. Body design, Trust me im careless person and rough use my laptop still it's working new as it's.
3. You need to change location bcz as per my knowledge and friends feedback Asus ,Dell and Hp are doing great in service.
4. Heating issue i agree but if you working under a A/C room then it's total normal
5. Last if you want to play games only then go for PC, I won't suggest anyone to purchase laptop for gaming.... You will get descent pc at 75-80k with Rtx 1660ti or 3060ti

Bro I haven't used that model, so can't say it's the best or not. But I'd say 1.1Lac is a decent budget... think of other factors too apart from the processor & graphic card. Go to showrooms of all these brands & get a hands-on feel ... that's what I did. :)
helios is good other good option is Lenovo Loq which is in the same price range and one which is little more proffesional looking and more understated is HP Omen although it will be little costly than these two but thats a good option if you are looking for something like that

Everything you said is completely true..but also I would say, the biggest advantage is that, after you buy a gaming laptop, there is not really any task that you can't run smoothly..Like you have all the ways open..use it or leave it is your choice..but when we buy a normal thin and light laptop, we block a lot of things initially. That's the biggest disadvantage. So, if you can carry weight, if you are okay with all the cooling fans that run on 2000 rpm all the time, if you are okay with poor battery backup with long charging time..then most welcome, you can perform any task and experience any game you want. (One more thing: I am a Nitro 5 i5-12500H user, and Windows is not really optimised for my device, like the waking up time from sleep is too long. But, in the thin and light or evo laptops, windows is optimised very good as far as I have seen. So, keep this in mind also)

And if I talk about Nitro 5, I am completely happy with it..I have just one complaint, the hinges could be better. It's good, but each time I want to open my lid, it creates a little noise, very little. Overall in terms of performance, battery backup, display quality it's worth it and even value for money. I bought it for 78K (8gb). If you get it for 70-72K you can definitely consider this one. And in my opinion it's still better than the new nitro with RYX 4050, if you ignore the 6gb vram.
