you could call this, PROS VS CONS
Snazz yes
Why is this not top comment?
Snazz Yes.
Lol xD
Snazz XDXDXDXDXD
"Is it worth running out and buying one of these things?" No I would drive.
I’d take the subway, that way I can play the Switch
Sufi Suhaimi I'd take a plane so I can play my switch LONGER
Chewy Boy 2019 a plane is faster than the train
Vasco 😂
I am not old enough to drive, so I would get my mom to Drive me.
It's crazy how apples and oranges these things can be. I love the Joy-Con grip and it sits great in the hands to me.
absolutely, you ask 5 different people and you get 5 different answers on which control schemes they like and don't like
I agree it fits in my hands fine too
It fits fine other than my left thumb so personally I like it
It's my favourite way to play for more intense stuff. Otherwise I prefer one in each hand
I love the joycon grip
Finally, someone that doesn't say you should immediatly throw awau your joycons and buy a pro controller.
Ganonbros idiots
Lol. And but well then ;...
i would use the joycons but for platforming indie games like Shovel Knights or the Binding of Isaac. doesn't seem fitting for mario kart or spla2oon
Karl Faucher That's quite the opposite actually. The joycons don't have a D-pad so it's not the best fof platformers.
Ganonbros I preffer using the analog stick anyway so i dont care
One thing that I haven't heard anyone say yet is just how small the joysticks are on the joycons compared to the pro controller. Totally depends on preference, but worth mentioning.
true, it hadn't occurred to me cuz to be honest the joy con ones actually feel pretty fine to me in use so far, then again something like an FPS might change that fact once we get one on Switch
Kevin Kenson to be honest the joy cons when I got a switch where much much bigger than I expected and I love the joy con grip, maybe cuz Ive got small hands it's just better
I hated it at first, but I got used to it over time
Ron Tozier I agree because if the pro controller never existed than he will never talk about how small the joy-cons are
Right,mate
wtf I love the grip controller, anyone else?
Elias Padilla Yeah I feel like people aren't holding it right or something, I just love it
LightOff lol same
Elias Padilla me too
Yeah, it feels better than the pro controller. I have only tried the pro controller in the store since it's sold out here, but I have used it for about two hours and while It's good overall it's just not wide enough for my taste. The analog sticks on the pro controller have much lighter feel witch is hard to adapt to when you're used to the stiffer analogs on the joycon.
Everybody have different hand sizes so it varies from person to person.
Kevin: so you bought your self a shiny new switch

nice video - I had to get the pro controller for doing zelda combos
Hi
@@Mayo7821 hello
@@Mayo7821 Good morning
The Pro controller is much better than I anticipated. But then again, pretty much everything about the Switch is. (Minus all the online crap not being here, but who cares because Zelda)
Austin Nwachukwu you can already play online. i played a match of fast rmx yesterday :)
Austin Nwachukwu its here online is here
I just want Nintendo Switch XL and I'll be happy
U take that back
Take back wut u said...
Everyone says the grip for the Joy-cons are too small
That doesn't apply with me lol
Zh ng same
Same because I’m a kid so my hands are kinda small so it doesn’t really matter for me
Same also because am a kid so my hands are tiny so yeah it's actually comfortable
I’m an adult an my hands are tiny and works for me!
Same nothing is too small cuz I’m the small boi :>
AKA get it when Splatoon 2 launches.
ProphitDesigns pretty much
or Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (yes i'm gonna get this game XD)
ProphitDesigns that's what I'm gonna do, I need redemption of those darn A+ chargers sniping me, I just can't get to S rank.
lol,
CM 10 once I made it to S rank, I stopped playing just because I was worried I'll be kicked out. I made a promise to myself to not do that again. Lol
the quality of this channel is mad, especially with your number of subscribers. great potential here.

Yes!
How much did he have at the time
playing breath of the wild with the joy-cons detached are the most uncomforable thing ever. it was always a pain to reach the joystick. The grip controller is masterfully great. 100 hours of BoTW later, no complains
I agree
The back gripts are WAY too tiny, the joycons go in vertically and the triggers feel worse, i threw mine out
I can’t even play BOTW in handheld mode, I really tried but it’s so difficult :(
I beat BOTW with joy cons only... idk what you’re talking about...
Joycons detatched are super comfortable actually.
The grip is honestly my favorite way to play zelda from the couch
You're comparing the pros and cons. budum-psh

Yeah, I use the pro controller mainly for TV and use the joy-cons for tabletop. I'm sure many of you do that. But if there is a friend I would use the controller and he uses the joycon grip and vice versa, unless it is tabletop which again, we use the joycons.
We could never have a discussion like this about any other console (except maybe the Wii and Wii U, but still not to this extent). People are really underselling how awesome this versatility is. The comfort of the seperate Joy-con, the traditional feel of the pro controller, and the balance struck by the grip all do an awesome job of making your gaming experience great.
Typical Nintendo fan meat riding a cheap company. The joycons are probably the worse next gen controller simply because of stick drift and they shouldn't be anywhere near $70. Doesn't matter how versatile it is when it's trash
@@rushpatriot2866Typical Nintendo hater just hating because they have nothing better to do in life. Go start your own company and create the perfect controller yourself then. Criticism is always needed, but calling others out for liking a product that you don’t like is plain rude, disrespectful, and completely unnecessary.
"So you bought yourself a shiny new switch."
Pfffff... no.
LOVE your content *CRISPY* AF

Ik his content is 😄
I actually love how the Joycon grip feels
Ok but, hear me out…
*Joy-Con drift.*
Yup, that’s enough reasons for me to crush those puny things with my bare hands.
personally, the joycons and grip fit perfectly in my tiny hands
love the joy con grip. It works fine and is intuitive. It has a learning curve like any other new controller. I'll get my pro today but the joy con grip is great in the meanwhile. I don't like using the joy cons with out the grip, that sucks in my opinion.
0:00: So you bought yourself a brand new switch
Me: no
Waiting for mine to be picked up
I use the joy con grip to play splatoon 2. No issues at all.
I got the pro controller because of the distance between my thumb and the right thumbstick. After playing Pokemon for a couple hours my thumb gets sore. So I bought this controller and I am going to test it out. So far, the feel in my hand feels natural for longer gaming sessions.
As crazy as this sounds, I love playing smash on an individual joycon.
Yeah that sounds pretty crazy lol. How do you do smash attacks consistently?
Something I noticed is that most people don't like how the grip feels, but when I tried it the other day, I found it alright. Not great, but alright. I think it may have something to do with the fact that I have really big hands. The spacing with the grip seems to be bad for average or small sized hands, but it worked decently for my big hands because my fingers can reach everything and wrap around the grip easily.
The grip feels good to me, like, I'd like a controller that feels just like the grip... But is just that without having to put the joycons in it. I love the click of the joycons and the triggers as well. If only they had like....
Instead of it being a pro controller, it was like. A Nintendo "casual" controller. Lol
Dude, we just bought a Switch and we had no idea how to use the controllers. Awesome video!!
What
PRO SHOULD COME WITH SWITCH
Nadine Roberts they should have one that doesnt come with joy con but instead a pro controller although I prefer the joy con because they just allow for more play options
Ikr?
DustinCecily&Mary You do realize the Joycons are a main staple of the Switch right? Right up with the portability
The console will end up being a screen with a unoriginal controller also the Pro controller is too big to carry around
papa vaniler and also they can make a pro controller bundle that cost less then buying it separately
A big plus that the pro controller has is that you are able to use thumb grips, the same ones you use on the PS4 controller, for more accuracy when playing shooters.
Split joycon all the way baybee!
Ikr
"So, you got yourself a new nintendo switch"
Me: no
I actually prefer the joycons in the grip vs the joycons separately. For some reason, I have access moving from the trigger buttons/regular buttons to the joystick. I understand why they made them so small, now.
Drifting is now a thing for joycons....
*sees dad's credit card on desk*
Its shipping time!
iDraw2 I get that it is probs a joke but just saying you can get them repaired or replaced for free I believe
Your videos are so great and High quality keep up the good work!
Thank you!
What is up, DramaAlert Nation I'm your host Killer Keemstar!
When I like the joy-cn grip 😑 it is my favorite play method
Hudson Hintze Same here
Hudson Hintze me too
Really depends on hand size
Are you referring to the grip that comes with the Switch? That the joy cons slide onto? Thanks.
Definitely, I bought and it’s so comfortable
I haven’t played with the pro controller yet but the joy con grip to me is extremely comfortable. I think it’s because I have smaller hands. But I also do like playing with the joy cons without the grip, one in each hand. I thought it was weird at first but at the time I wasn’t used to it. I’m in love with the switch lol
Anyone else comfortable with the left joycon?

0:58 that is why you need the strap
Underrated comment
Pro controller hands down. I have one and boy... when I tried the grip for the first time (I started with the pro controller) I felt a little awkwardness at first but later got a bit better. But I'll never get over the small analog and buttons plus no D-Pad I highly recommend a pro controller for true console play
0:58 pause it fast
Its a wii remote is in the tv

And why are you telling people this anyway, like is it important?
Jonathan - ROBLOX & More! your channel makes me cringe
JonathanSS OV I did
Yeah them rage days
Or pause and then tap the blue thing
I love the grip. I'm just getting a Power A Switch controller because whenever I need any of the other characteristics from the pro controller, It's enough to get the grip with both joycons attached
Thank you Kevin great vid! unlike other youtubers who only do unboxing and tell u thing u already know, ure 1 step ahead... nice!
thanks!
just got the pro controller and WOW - by far one of the best controllers out there. very solid and comfortable. the design is freaking awesome too
The picture of the wii at 58 seconds I see my self doing
I respect his option but I think the grip that the joycon slide into is actually very comfortable
When i got my switch and opened it up, I said “wtf are these joycons, I ordered regular not extra small”
My friends thought I was playing telepathically because I was nonchalantly playing Odyssey and were like WTF
why do all of the UA-cam gamers hate the Joy-Con grip? Mob Mentality?
Alovon Yeah i have the switch. The joycon grip IS NOT UNCOMFORTABLE AT ALL. Hand size is pretty average, every setup of the switch is extremely comfortable for me. Never will need pro
Sweaty try hards use the pro controller. I've been good at games since the Tekken 3, I don't need the pro controller. It's just an easy way for poor players to try to get an advantage. Hopefully they bring out a solid fps for the switch, I'll still be good at that too. A bad workman always blames his tools.
+Omar Beydoun I'm a PC gamer and I'm fine with the grip dude :|.
I got large hands and I love em
Yep, there's absolutely no way that people with different-sized hands and varying degrees of understanding of good controller design might just respond differently to the grip. _Clearly_ the answer is mob mentality.
There are some Nintendo Switch games that involves motion controls from the Joy-Con as well as the Pro Controller. Although the Pro Controller has a little wider than the Joy-Con within the Comfort Grip, the Joy-Con without the Grip delivers more freedom to both arms and hands separately. Also, I think the silicone/gel protectors for joystick should be able to allow those with big hands to operate them without problems. The same goes with the shell protectors that has contour grips at the bottom. The Pro Controller is a good option for big-handed players, but I prefer the Joy-Con any day no matter how small they are in my hands.
great...
Nintendo taking more money from us buying accessories
Darnit Productions just like apple did.

that Zoolander reference
it just seemed too obvious not to use
I may be alone here but I have always preferred Nintendo default controllers. I enjoyed playing with the wii u game pad, and wii mote before that. Pro controller button placement is different and it makes switching from handheld to dock play weird. I'm always hitting the home button, or when I want to capture something I can't find that button lol. I guess I'm joycon grip team.
Come on npthing beats a traditional controller so you should definitely get it. But tbh the controller should come with the switch. It's crazy that you have to pay extra for it to get it.
I love the Joy-cons. Even tho a pro controller might be more of a traditional controller, I still like the feel of the joy-cons. Think I’m gonna buy another pair, that way I have “4” controllers for party games like Mario Kart :)
we need portable gaming setup
oh don't you worry, I've got more switch stuff in the works, gonna do at least a couple more vids in the next week
The joy con grip is really comfy not gonna lie
Thank god i have small hands, the joycons don’t feel that small to me 👍🏼
Since I am a child the joy con grip is perfect for my hands so honestly it would be overkill to get a pro controller.
Kevin I love you're Hylian shield
Angeldan 762 I is like you're grammer
I prefer the pro controller, Growing up I used I've been playing Xbox for a while so I kind of got use to the comfort of the Xbox controller in my hands. The pro controller has the same confort and accessibilities I like to use.
0:58 lol play it in 0.25 speed🤣🤣🤣
Honestly, IMO, theres no best controller or comfortable, because once you get used to it, thats it.
However its completely up to you, its your game.
Try being 6'7" 😭😭😭😭
The joy cons feel weird when they are disconnected but they feel just right when you attach them to your switch in handheld mode
Im a 13 year old kid with pretty large hands (as in long fingers), and i think the joy-cons in the grip are ok, but I'll probably get a pro controller when it gets on sale because i tried one at the store and its much comfier
I'm sorry if my english is bad, im from Sweden sooo...

hello
sorry for bad english
My pro controller produces ground up dust from sliding the analog sticks too much. It’s a very common problem and I can’t believe they missed it
Unfortunately you'll have to pay an arm and a leg for the pro controller. I really don't think it's worth it.

I used the X-Box 360/One controllers for over a decade. So consider that when I say I actually preferred the layout on the Wii U pro- controller/Gamepad. The symmetry made more sense to me and it's much easier to claw-grip (forefinger on stick and thumb on buttons.
I wished they allowed pairing of the Wii U pro controller with the Switch so at least people would have options. The Wii U supported every Wii U, Wii and GameCube controller released since 2001 and the Switch supports none of them. A massive step backwards.
You can play Switch with a GC Controller, you just need an adaptor. :)
0:57 subliminal message alert!
Thumbs up for having the Surge grips, these things make an uncomfortably small joy-con much better to hold sideways.
step 1. be at least 18 years old
step 2. buy an gamecube adapter
step 3. plug it in
step 4. profit
My Joy cons had drift problems, so I sent it into Nintendo. I was going to buy another pair of Joy cons, but saw it was cheaper to buy a pro controller. Totally worth it.
I asked my Mum if I was allowed to buy myself a pro controller and she said no. A couple days later a a parcel arrived and I went to the door and collected it and opened it. It was the pro controller. It’s for Christmas so I put it back in the box and pretended I never saw it so she wouldn’t feel bad if I didn’t look surprised.
Thunder Bolt5826 Same 🤣
My hands get too sweaty when I use each in one hand.
IMO JoyCon Grip> Pro Controller
I'd wor perfectly if they decided to port Tekken 7 or put Tag Tournament 3 on switch
I don't get why everyone hates it so much.
I hate it because my hands are too big for it and it's not comfortable at all
LightXDark689 joy sticks is better
Do a controller comparison between the switch pro controller, the hori controller, and the 2 joy cons. This would make my day :D
sub just for the zoolander clip lol
I perfer the joy-con grip, I think its really comfortable and your controls are just better in placement. The single joy-con play is basically hell for me, as they are incredibly small and you can't manouver easily. However, I havent tested the pro controller yet.
I like the grip better than pro controller. I just wasted $70
*cough* I'll take it off your hands.
Sem same, I'll take that from him
Am I the only one who has absolutely no problem playing all games with just the joycons in handheld mode? Everyone rags on the joycons but they work great for me and I’m a 36 yr old man with normal man hands. The Switch and this joycon setup brought me back to gaming.
Pro controller
Cool
I like the 2 separate joycons too. I didn’t like it at first but once I was playing Mario Odyssey a lot it became really comfortable.
Why is it called a "Pro" controller if it only has the basic controller features (apart from the HD rumble but honestly I don't f*cking care) 70 bucks for a Controller, for that price it should at least have a headphone jack, a speaker and a touchpad or some sort.
AVM3798 HD rumble, motion controls, 40 hour battery life. Also way more comfortable than the joy cons
They are releasing one with bluetooth capability for headphones next year when they release their online system
I don’t mind the joycon grip, it just seems a little cheap. I prefer the pro controller because I like the joysticks and triggers better than the joycon ones. I didn’t buy a pro controller for a long time because it didn’t seem like a necessity but I’ve really enjoyed using it.
I say if you're going to get get a pro controller, just spend ten more dollars and get extra joycons instead. You get the same functions with motion controls and 2 controllers for multiplayer.
Captain Newfag to play with 4 people or play 2 player on games that need 2 joy cons per person
I don't have enough friends for that😪

Pros vs cons
Alectronic bad copied joke
So thirsty for likes
Lmao true, what a copier
Having a joy-con in each hand is actually a hassle like if you have to drink or get something with your other hand, you'll have to put it somewhere compared to using the grip and having one solid controller.
0:58 LOL XD
E back in the day
XXXXDDDDDDD
"I'll briefly brush A or X." Maybe it's because you're pressing the buttons weirdly?
Yeah I thought that was weird, I never have that problem
So glad i didn't waste my money on a pro controller :')
Tando well it's a good thing that it isn't a waste of money
Alright (& what. Lol)
Yeah ;...
It is not a waste of money, but yeah I understand
Tando I mean it's the definite way to play. Soooooo...
God I love me some Kevin kenson switch videos
From a person that bough the switch I can say that if you have bigger hands the grip helps you reach the triggers easier
1:24 I NEEEDS THOSE ATTACHMENTS the joy cons hurt the moment i hold in my hand
