This video has gotten me a long ways so thank you very much. One minor change I would recommend would be to move your lane from tapered median to your offsets, if you have a sloped median. If they are connected to the centerline and you put a slope on the median you end up with a gap between the median and lane on both sides. Lane from tapered median should connect to the median, so it doesn't follow the elevations of the centerline.
Punktmann, I'm sorry for the late response here. I've not been monitoring this as well I should. There are two ways to make the offset alignments. . . 1. Use the standard AutoCAD offset command and offset the alignment left/right. This will make a polyline which you can convert to an aligment later. In this method the polylines are not tied to the centerline alignment. 2. Use the aligment offset command and this will automatically generate alignments left/right. You must understand that with this method the offset alignments are linked to the centerline alignment. As the centerline moves so do the offsets.
hello great video. question, when m corridor crosses the centerline the sections begin to look funky. seems like its doing what its suppose to but im missing some components in the cross sections
You can use the offset command and generate two offset polylines and convert them to alignments. Or you can use the alignment offset command. It's up to you, but be aware that the alignment offset command ties the offset alignments to the centerline and when the centerline moves so do the offset alignments.
Muzammil, my apologies, my colleague who no longer works with us put this video together several years ago. He left us to pursue other interests, but when he left he took the drawing with him. I've reached out to him and he can't seem to find it.
Great vid! Tried doing it but somehow when the LT and RT median goes into one side of the centerline it doesnt project all the way thru..am I missing something here..followed all the steps
I can't say there is because the two instances I have witnessed were random. No one else I've spoken to has had this issue, and I know lots of people using the 2016 software.
yea so i accidentally flagged this video as promoting hate speech by accident. I had 2 videos open, and got distracted before hitting report. I wish there was a way to take it back, but alas there isnt. Sorry for the inconvenience if there is any.
A ten year old video still helps today. Thanks so much
This video saved my day on 23rd September 2024❤

Thanks very much, this is a very good tutorial. I have 15 years of experience with Civil 3D, but your video broght some discoveries for me
Glad to hear it! Thanks for your comment. :)

Many thanks for the tutorial videos God bless you.
It is still very useful until now, thanks a lot
Great vid. How did you make these alignment offsets go across the axis of the alignment, and how did u shape them? Thx!

Hi Sirs,
Very thanks for this video. Can you sent me previous video for my studying .
Great video thanks for sharing
Many thanks to you good Sir.
Very interesting! Thanks.
Thanks, great example
Thanks for this video.
Is it possible to do this when you have a split median for a left-turn lane and the medians overlap each other?
Though I've never teste, I'm don't see why not. It's all based on the naming of the assemblies and the targets you set.
Amazing
can you upload the drawing and I work with 2016
it's just perfect
hi sir !
i need this drawing to understand please kingly upload this drawing .. waiting for your reply

Very difficult but interesting

Are you doing this in 2016? I have found two instances where 2016 was the issue.
Is there any known fix for this issue?
I can't say there is because the two instances I have witnessed were random. No one else I've spoken to has had this issue, and I know lots of people using the 2016 software.
