Hey how do you cook rice so it doesn't come out mushy? I did even cups of rice per water on high pressure for 6-8 mins. Even with Basmati it comes out mushy idk why. Any ideas or tips?
This didn't work for me. Got the instant pot burn message 2 times. It never happened when I cook pasta without the sauce - it only happened this time (when I tried it with the sauce). I hope it works for others ..

Once the 7 min timer ends on the pressure cook and goes to 0 and beeps should you wait an additional 7 minutes before pressure releasing meaning 14 min or release the pressure right after 7 min right away ? I’ve read wait additional time meaning double the time before pressure release but I’ve done it right away without adding time just curious on your thoughts
In retrospect, maybe the older models have a medium? I keep saying they should have added a medium setting, so it's difficult for me to imagine them actually removing it for newer models... I dunno... 🤷🏻♂️
WHY??? Why don't cook pasta separately ? You started well with sauce, then you destroyed it putting too any spices, sugar etc. On the end you completely mistook putting pasta in the sauce. It is horrible, pasta lose the consistency and it looks like mash for dog. If you trash the instant pot and cook pasta separately in boiling salted water, you get a completely different result more and more good. It is not a matter of time,

So manual is the same as the pressure cook button? I don't have the manual button on mine
Yes
I will cook it tomorrow
Are herbs the same as spices?
yes
No they are not haha

I use the rice setting and I add a little bit more water than the amount of cups of rice. The only rice I use on the pressure setting is brown rice.
Do what he said and add some oil
Ooor do 3mins hp and some extra for npr..
Just add 4 cups of water total for a pound of pasta
Wow!
How many cups is 12oz of dry pasta?
12 oz is 1.5 cups. At least that is what Alexa says.
Lol I was gonna as Siris lol thanks for sharing 🙌🏽

Sorry to hear that what was the temp setting on the instant pot? Sometimes you may need to add maybe a little bit more liquid.
Never cook pasta like in this video.
Parts must cooked separately in boiling salted water. There is no other method, period!

So the sauce doesnt have a water downed flavor? Thats my concern. Thanks for the video.
No because the pasta soaks in the flavor of the sauce.
The water will soak up flavor. But you can also use broth if you want.
Would it be possible to use a jar of premade pasta sauce? (If we are in a hurry)
For sure you as long as you like the taste of the stuff in the jar you’re good.

When the timer beeps after the 7 mins I release the pressure.
@@WhatsInDePot ok ty the reason I ask is I’ve seen videos where some people after timer beeps they let it run additional time before release

Try adding a bay leave and smoked paprika next time. It gives and amazing flavour to it.😊

Always boil pasta separately....or at least for best results
that defeats the purpose of using the instant pot also this allows the sauce and seasoning to flavor the pasta.
