I've slowly become a huge fan of this band over the past several months. This is arguably their best track. I can't stop listening. It has everything I've come to expect from Ghost - mystery, poetry, sadness, and evil grooves. And that amazing keyboard dive at 1:25. Hail Ghost!
The most amusing thing of all is that even though Ghost has now provided an official upload of Zenith, this version still has clearer audio and so remains the best version on the internet.
so... is this going to be Ghost´s very own "Alexander the Great" and we are going to beg for them to play this live one day? forever? and ever? (forever)
Ghost is like Maiden in that all of their songs are fucking bangers and some of the greats are gonna be lost to popular setlists forever ... Somewhere in Time is my fav Maiden album and we almost never get to hear it's full glory

Big thank you for uploading this, I’ve probably watched it 1000 times over the years. Still come back because the spinning vinyl suits the song in a strange way.
I know ghost references a lot in their songs and the meaning isn't always the face-value, but considering the lyrics, can you feel how ominous this is? You sold your soul to Satan, you enjoyed the gifts he gave you, and you are at the height of your glory, from now on you go downwards, you will grow old and die, your evils will be revealed, shit is about to hit the fan, and you can only be unshackled by the god you gave your back to, if he only wished to. But he won't, and you're going to the age of ages, eternity in hell, no escape. That's fucking dark, man.
That theory actually makes sense, with that theory in mind listen to Deus in Absentia, the devil is here to take his soul and tells him everything is over and he wants to reach out to God but the devil tells him God is not there. Deus in Absentia- God is absent.
@@Hwarming I agree... it feels more like a dark ballad to the plight of the human race... for all of out workings and passions, it will all fade into the grandeur of time and the eventual heat death of the universe... simultaneously transcendent and nihilistic, the way we view it is up to us
@@Hwarmingthere is a figure in tantric Hinduism and Buddhism, the most wrathful and destructive face of shiva. This god figure is called bhairava mahakala... roughly translating to the “the terrible greatness of time”... it is not terrifying because it is evil or malicious, but because it is one of the great universal truths. Eventually everything is ground down by entropy in the passage of time
It feels like something that would be on Prequelle and not just a hidden/bonus track for Meliora. It gives me the dark age/plague vibe like how Prequelle was centered on and not the whole humanism and avarice thing.
It's mysterious..isn't it? The way it works with this band's music.. Some of their songs just have an allure that could only be described as magical. Once you pick it up, it's impossible to put down.
I don't quit understand why they didn't put this on Meliora, especially since the theme of this song goes along very nicely with the one on the album. Luckily I was able to snap me my own copy of the song!
My thought on this is that it would kind of destroy the effect that listening to Meliora as a whole has on listeners. Zenith kind of connects Deus in Absentia to Spirit so that the Album would become full circle. Looks like that was not intended which is why they put Zenith out via Vinyl. This way everyone is able to enjoy Meliora as a complete piece of art and Zenith apart from it. We are still free to download and cue it in a playlist after Deus in Absentia.
Yeah the probable reason is that tobias is a massive control freak and the idea of 2 songs written by anyone else being under the name of ghost is just too far
Hands down my favorite song. I remember when I discovered this about a year ago, it blew me away. The articulation when it comes to the instrumental is so amazing. It sets such a quality of mood as well. I really hope that down the line Tobias makes more of this kind of music when it comes to Ghost. It’s such a shame that they have never played this live.
My theory as to why this wasn’t on the album: Ghost knew it was one of their better songs and wanted to reward their biggest and most supportive section of the fan base. That’s the only thing that makes sense lol Best ghost song ever.
I think it is more having to do the song be written by Martin (Omega) and it's his song basically. And the fact that the lawsuit happened (Martin didn't sue but I would guess he wouldn't want it attached to a lawsuit at the time)
@@robo-ert5754 It was put on Meliora (Redux) which is basically Meliora with extra tracks from Popestar and this song. The lawsuit had no influence on it whatsoever.
@juiceboii year zero was also written by martin. Ghost has alot of throw away tracks. Time will soon be gone
Right will turn to wrong
Winds come on strong
So help you God

* a vision to soothe? * a vision too soon? I feel either works better, I'll concede if your sources say elsewise.. Thx for posting regardless!
I think it is "soon"
The first part of the chorus is wrong. It's:
"Time will soon be gone
Night will turn to dawn
Winds come on strong
So help you God"
The lyrics are profound af
now... in these time... you are not even able to fucking search the fucking real lyrics of the fucking song.... fucking crystal fucks!!!! go fuck yourself... don't try to hijack the fucking song... it does not belong to you! Go fuck yourself.... Viki!!!!
THIS should have been the official Ghost-approved video of this song. The lime vinyl gives it some additional touch of spookiness. Thank you for your years of service, Jacek. Legend!
Thank you friend, you’ve served us well, it’s officially released on Spotify now
Such gorgeous harmony at 3:35. Thanks for uploading this. It's a treasure.
I've slowly become a huge fan of this band over the past several months. This is arguably their best track. I can't stop listening. It has everything I've come to expect from Ghost - mystery, poetry, sadness, and evil grooves. And that amazing keyboard dive at 1:25. Hail Ghost!
*SAME* to literally everything you said. Especially that keyboard dive - CHILLS.
I LOVE THE KEYBOARD DIVE SO MUCH
Thats awesome when I listen to this song I help but think blue oyster cult.???
@@georgecornish1760 ghost absolutely takes heavy influence from BOC tbh
I have traveled thousands of miles, across oceans to see GHOST. They are by far my favorite group.
I can't and don't want to stop listening to this masterpiece
Beautiful voice. Amazing band. They just keep getting better with each passing year.
I agree, these guys are amazing and i love their work.
A truly beautiful, unique, and mesmerizing song. Ghost is a one of a kind band, masters of the occult.
T.L.K 115 the occult is one beautiful force
The dark lord approves this band 🤘
The most amusing thing of all is that even though Ghost has now provided an official upload of Zenith, this version still has clearer audio and so remains the best version on the internet.
so... is this going to be Ghost´s very own "Alexander the Great" and we are going to beg for them to play this live one day? forever? and ever?
(forever)
(Forever)
(forever)
Apparently they've played it live on rare occasions.
Time to start our own Ghost channel. What say you?
Ghost is like Maiden in that all of their songs are fucking bangers and some of the greats are gonna be lost to popular setlists forever ... Somewhere in Time is my fav Maiden album and we almost never get to hear it's full glory
Why does this band have to be so damn perfect? I mean, Miasma; that amazing sax solo, Zenith; the piano riffs. Every other song; the amazing bass. I wish I could see these wonderful people in concert.
four years late to this comment but YES THE BASS!! as a bassist myself i started listening to them only this past winter and i was hooked by their magic but i was soon caught up in a trance in the basslines of nearly every song
I can not thank you enough for uploading this insanely devious quality
This song is like the best song of a good band, but Ghost is so fantastic that it's a vinyl exclusive bonus track.
It's a limited edition bonus track. Which is also able to stream in Sweden
It is one of Ghost's best songs, though. It really should've been straight up put on Meliora.
the intro is just pure ghost talent i love them so much
the bassline is amazing
Evening listening on Spotify, I still picture the spinning record. I’m coming by to say my thanks as well. We really appreciated you uploading this 8 years ago!
The way "perpetual" is pronounced, I never want to hear it another way.
I dont know how you used to say it but this is quite normal for me
Most Americans pronounce the "TU" as a "CH," which is rather inelegant.
7 years later, Jacek, and I still owe you a debt for uploading this.
And just like that I'm hypnotized..again.
We conquered the magic, we counted the stars
Deciphered the clockwork, enacted this farce
Devoured by shadows, we cling to the light
Deluded by wisdom, the bringer of night
Now and for always, a perpetual rise
A followed illusion
Your zenith fades into eternity
Time will soon be gone
Night will turn to dawn
Winds come on strong
So they do not come unleashed
You're set free
A genesis captured, ignited by truth
A murderous rapture, a vision to soon
Devoured by shadows
We cling to the light
Deluded by wisdom, the bringer of night
Now and for always, a perpetual rise
A followed illusion
Your zenith fades into eternity
Time will soon be gone
Night will turn to dawn
Winds come on strong
So they do not come unleashed
You're set free
Time will soon be gone
Night will turn to dawn
Winds come on strong
So they do not come unleashed
You're set free

Big thank you for uploading this, I’ve probably watched it 1000 times over the years. Still come back because the spinning vinyl suits the song in a strange way.
Thanks for your service 🫡
I know ghost references a lot in their songs and the meaning isn't always the face-value, but considering the lyrics, can you feel how ominous this is? You sold your soul to Satan, you enjoyed the gifts he gave you, and you are at the height of your glory, from now on you go downwards, you will grow old and die, your evils will be revealed, shit is about to hit the fan, and you can only be unshackled by the god you gave your back to, if he only wished to. But he won't, and you're going to the age of ages, eternity in hell, no escape. That's fucking dark, man.
To me this is a very humanist song. That we've conquered the wild forces and mastered the world around us, and we're in a continual zenith
That theory actually makes sense, with that theory in mind listen to Deus in Absentia, the devil is here to take his soul and tells him everything is over and he wants to reach out to God but the devil tells him God is not there. Deus in Absentia- God is absent.
That itself is just one of the many reasons why Ghost is my favorite
Eventually everything is ground down by entropy in the passage of time
picture this: this song with a backing orchestra and a live choir in a historic theatre 😍😍😍
Mario Castillo youre right. most of their songs would sound amazing with a live orchestra especially this one deus in absentia and infestissumam
They've already done a performance with a choir at Hellfest 2016
LeMetalleuxFou True but it was a kids choir and it doesnt sound as cool as a full adult choir
And Deus in Absentia!!!
Epic!!!!
I can picture this being the end credits song of a movie
It honestly very well could be if Ghost makes a movie like they've been talking about of late
Can't beat the old songs of ghost. This is up there with the best of them. Sheer class
Back here listening again all this time later to say this is still my favorite song of theirs and you’re the reason I even knew it existed! Thank you!
I now think Zenith was a prequel/prologue for Prequelle.
It feels like something that would be on Prequelle and not just a hidden/bonus track for Meliora. It gives me the dark age/plague vibe like how Prequelle was centered on and not the whole humanism and avarice thing.
Clicked out of curiosity and can't. Stop. Listening.
It's mysterious..isn't it? The way it works with this band's music.. Some of their songs just have an allure that could only be described as magical. Once you pick it up, it's impossible to put down.
welcome to the clergy
That is Satan tempting you.
That happened to me when I first heard Cirice!
My cat is named after this masterpiece
Omg that's a brilliant idea.
Zenith means the Success of something so your cat Zenith is your success
@@Palisade28 Zenith means the peak of something, you can google it if you'd like
Lucky cat.
I named my bong after this song! lol
Might be weird but listening to this song on a nice warm summer night, just is beautiful
❤ thank you for 7 years of Zenith, king 👑
Thank you for 8 years of Zenith! Legend 🙌
That’s the only thing that makes sense lol
Best ghost song ever.
@@NHR_Music why not release it on similar version of a digital album :|
@juiceboii year zero was also written by martin. Ghost has alot of throw away tracks. Hunters moon was even a meliora throw away track that he juat had lying around and felt it fit for the halloween movies. Tbh there is no telling why this was only released for a limited amount of people. Only the band knows. But i wish it was on spotify 🤣
Thanks for all you done bro for that last 8 years. You will be remembered 👍
I must have listened to this song a good two hundred times by now, it only grows and grows in quality each time.
