When I use the white brush over the black layer mask it does the opposite of airbrush, it reveals the raw skin. Can someone please tell me what I did wrong please 😣

All is fine , frankly to get the perfection, what's the aperture and iso settimg that shud appear as on skin ..? Also the type of light that would bring out on a portrait

actually it depends what type of picture you want, but always try to keep iso as low as possible, and if you want more details increase aperture vale , and lighting is very important to get a sharp eye catchy portrait.
