Just an FYI, most states do have requirements if you sell eggs. Even if it’s a very small scale. If you are selling them for money it’s a good idea to check out the requirements in your state. Typically it’s something like: they must be me cleaned, refrigerated and a label on the container with specific information.
@Split Arrow Homestead oh wow thanks, I have 3 hens and 2 roosters🤦♂️ I wanted to eat some eggs and hatch some as well, how many days should I wait to do the candle test? Thanks so much!👍
Thank you for such a knowledgeable video, I have a question Please my Daughter in law gives me fresh unwashed eggs, which I wash as I use them, but a lot of them have a very WATEREY WHITE. I mean really wagerers, and the yolks have a old ring ? Do u know what could be causing this ?? Also if I set these unwashed eggs on my kitchen counter, and wash them as I am ready to use them, BUT THEY ARE BEGINNING TO REALLY STINK. DOES THAT MEAN THEY ARE BAD ?? THANK YOU 😊
I would try the test in water and see if they sink or float to help here. Also know that even if they are not cleaned they can still go bad so you will want to make sure that they don’t go bad! Additionally you might want to clean the coop a little bit more and then will help keep the eggs cleaner as well!
Super informational video 😊 In cases where I want to use the egg shell as well (to feed to animals), would doing a proper wet wash right before consumption make the shell safe for them to eat?
Hahaha honestly so true. We have a fenced in area that most of the chickens stay within but the poo everywhere has been hard to manage with us as well. Best of luck and sorry I can't help too much with this issue.
Such great information. I had no idea about the water test. Can’t wait to start getting these from you guys again ☺️
So happy to hear and yes! We have a lot of laying hens :)

Great video and tips! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
How do you know if they are fertilized or not? Only once you open them? Thanks
If you have a rooster you will most likely have fertilized eggs but you can also candle them to see

Hi Sharon, if you clean the eggs they need to go in the fridge as this ‘cuticle’ coat protects from bacteria getting in :)
Super informational video 😊

Glad it was helpful! I would look into it deeper dependent on the animal
So do we need to do a dry wash before storing them in the fridge?
You don’t have to!
Great info . Thanks
Thanks and great to hear that this was helpful!
Great info thanks!!!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you
Welcome!
How long do farm fresh washed eggs last in the refrigerator?
They should last around 2 months in the fridge. Best of luck!
Sorry, my phone changes my words, I ment to say, these eggs have a BLOODY RING in the yolks, and the WHITE PART is like pure WATER ??
THANKS 😊
Thanks!
Thank You❣️
:)
An egg exploded in my face...I have never viewed stray eggs the same since...i literally run for cover. 🤣🤣🤣
Oh no! You have to watch out for those stray eggs. Best of luck!
I free range my chickens too but their poop then becomes land mines in my yard. Haven’t figured out how to manage this mess on the lawn???

Nice content, but little bit irritating voice, needed to turn down the volume on this one!
