CozmicVideos They certainly did a fantastic job with using the FM Genesis sound chip to replicate that acoustic guitar and lead synth. I make Sega Genesis music, and I can tell you that track is solid!
Seems designed partly so the player can appreciate the music. How refreshing compared to other hacks where every single possible event has to have its own song. Sonic CD track renditions are more impressive than I had any right to expect.
This is actually a really great hack. Just needs to be a bit more polished, cut out its fetish for eggman monitors and get fix some cheap enemy placement.
I love how the first stage had both the US and JP present of Palmtree Panic, and also the past version of both as well. Being that the past themes are shared across both soundtracks. Which now that I think about it, would be slightly jarring for anyone playing with the US soundtrack since the past themes are based off of the JP soundtrack. Also the bosses in this game are amazing. The creator definitely put extra effort into making them.
One thing that really puts me off hacks is that they reuse the same boss battles and things from the original games. But I am happy that this one had managed to come up with it's own original boss battle instead. I think this is actually the first hack that I have seen which does this.
+Lamp Skewed I gathered, but it is quite impressive when somebody manages to do so. I think that to many hacks / fan games recycle things from the older games and I really don't think that it works that well unless it is done in quite an orig anal sort of way.
+Lamp Skewed Oh well, forgive me for having high hopes for people and for dreaming of something more. This obviously means that I am very naive and unappreciative of things. Perhaps people should just give up and not even try to improve upon things or to better themselves or to make anything great because it is just to much hard work. In fact why don't we just stop trying to make hacks and fan games in the first place because it is so difficult, and just settle for the old games which are already there and never strive for something more. Or better still, why not just settle for some of the more recent games like Sonic 06 because they fit in with our attitude so well as fans and gives us everything that we could ever want from a Sonic game, and are a true landmark of how games should really be when we do not push ourselves so hard that already gives us everything that we could have ever really hoped for...
+Lamp Skewed Oh I see. But I use the term 'recycling' as a loose term and a figure of speech to describe the unfortunate state of most hacks, whatever the reason may be. I am aware that this is due to the technical limitations mostly (which is why I am not a huge fan of hacks), but I do not believe for a moment that this is the only reason why this is so because there are hacks out there that have managed to be mostly original and have even included fairly original boss battles sometimes too. Also you will notice that when I use the term 'recycling' I am not just referring to reusing some parts of the old games but rather reusing most of them to the point where there really isn't that much which is original about the hack, such as just changing some names and color pallets or something like that, in my opinion this is a bit pointless. But it is not only hacks that do this either, I have also seen many fan games which re-use a lot of things from the older games and end up coming off as being quite cheap and uninspired. I can understand that to make something like this takes a lot of effort and hard work to do and that sometimes it is just easier to re-use some stuff, but I really don't think that it works that well unless it is done in a very good way and there isn't as much of an excuse for it than there is with hack. I believe that if you are going to spend your time doing something like that then you may as well go all the way and try to create something that is original, because the effort will pay off a lot more.
+Pappa Chimp *replies to year-old comment.* Rom hacking itself is not hard, but changing certain things, like bosses, is way more difficult. And why don't we settle for the originals? It's been 17 years since a official game of these kinds came out. And Sonic Mania isn't a fully new experience.
I tried playing this and the second to last level wouldn't let me continue, it kept playing the end of stage results over and over again. It is a great hack though, I wish I could program in assembly for the sega
This hack is awesome compared to Sonic 1 Remastered for both Genesis and 32x. I loathe Sonic 1 Remastered. That is a sick game. I mean what were they smoking? "F" and "S" words are seen at the end credits. Now these guys that made Sonic Mildness have brains, which makes this hack playable.
How long does it take you to master these hacks? Do you pick one and play it for days and days till you get past it flawlessly? Btw, whats that song from on Sandy Palace Act 2
Surely you recognize the Stage 5 boss and Stage 7 themes from Thunder Force 4 in here, right +Razor Zenon ? Your no-miss 5,968,850 run on that is what my Chrome defaults to when I click on UA-cam in a new tab. XD
Ironically none of my art ever got published and because license crap i was disallowed to redistribute it. but it was very good. subpar hack. neat graphics. lol
Tenk Kommander Sonic Mega Fusion//XLIV by GenesisFan64. Project Eggland by DeoxysKygore. Sonic RFG by whoever his name was, a background for RedHotSonic's Hack (which i don't know if he still uses ). Go ahead. check those hacks out. then do tell me about it. Also check my dA.you can see some of the graphics i made mostly for Project Eggland. So yeah i worked on hacks and i could tell you that the hacks i worked on were subpar but had neat graphics thanks to me. So yeah. Also. before you keep going that way. I had to made an agreement that my art would only be used on the hack i was working on and i would not release outside. The art displayed on my dA is rejected ar that, since it didn't got in the hacks. i could release. So, yes, *_Right_*
This game has a fetish for Eggman monitors. They are everywhere. They even hid one behind a bush in one of the acts of Palm Island, which is just unfair and evil, because you can't even see what sort of monitor it is and you get punished for being curious to see what's behind the bush.
I did that and regretted it. I got a shield earlier, hit the Eggman monitor by accident, lost said shield but got my 10 Rings back! That's just pure evil, man...
I agree. I just replayed this hack not too long ago and said to myself how this game just loves its eggman monitors and cheap enemy placements. I swear I ran into more than 10 eggman monitors in the first stage alone. I still like this hack but I feel a lot of the cheap stuff and glitches damages it a lot.

I just dealt wwirh the weirdest glitch. In Central Chaos Act 2's end, the game went into an infinite score tally. it was the strangest thing I had ever seen. I could not move, I could not advance to Act 3.
it fucking is jesus christ I was waiting for the main bit to kick in with bated breath, praying he wouldn't get an invincible box and fuck things up and it was *so* worth it
This hack was 'ok'. I give it a 4.5/10. The enemy and obstacle placement made momentum a fantasy. Also there were far too many hazards at Sonic's height. For example, putting retracting spikes where an item box is is just plain cheap. Or putting spike traps and enemies outside of the field of view or in very tight corners where maneuverability is extremely limited. Some of the placements of the item boxes nearly REQUIRES you to get hurt to get them. Speaking of which, I have no idea why over half of them were Robotnik boxes. This doesn't add challenge, it adds frustration. The music, for the most part, was terrible. And the bosses were a mixed salad of original, cheap, and borrowed. My favorite one was vs. Silver Sonic. But it was kinda bad that you could halfway defeat him in the beginning by spindashing in the center for like the first 10 seconds of the fight. The game tries too hard to make your life a living hell, but rather than provide actual platforming challenge, it basically forces you to lose your rings or die by simply following the normal process of a Sonic game. If you play it like it's a Sonic game, you're going to lose. You have to play it like a relentless, slow paced platformer that OCCASIONALLY moves quickly. Also, the programming is shit. There's a glitch after act 2 of the final level that causes the score to tally up infinitely. I've reinstalled twice. I'm just done.
Tienes razón en algunos puntos, per al menos para mí, la banda sonora mayormente remixeada no es mala, hasta incluso sale una buena conversión del tema Panic Puppet zone del Sonic 3D Blast de Sega Saturn y del Nyan Cat Theme.
13:18 The HUD said "Fuck, I need to use the bathroom!"
22:09 "Okay, I'm back... How long have I been in there for?!"
Props for giving the US soundtrack of Sonic CD the attention nobody gives it.
CozmicVideos They certainly did a fantastic job with using the FM Genesis sound chip to replicate that acoustic guitar and lead synth. I make Sega Genesis music, and I can tell you that track is solid!
I just find the JP version more speedy.
Chalky Ruins is the best looking Labyrinth Zone.
Also that delicious VVZA2 remix in Sandy Palace Act 1
First Palmtree Panic US, then a 16-but remix of the PAL version? YES. A lovely mix.
Personally, this is the best hack made so far. It has a smooth feel to it, it has a lot of good music, and a lot of awesome well designed levels.
I almost died when I heard Palmtree Panic, the USA version in this hack.
It makes me think of Crash Bandicoot
+Travis Mull Gaming ok
Yeah they did a good job didn't they?
They did awesome! Although the Robotnik monitor placement is just pure evil, though.
Seems designed partly so the player can appreciate the music. How refreshing compared to other hacks where every single possible event has to have its own song. Sonic CD track renditions are more impressive than I had any right to expect.
10:20 Sonic + the intro stage music from megaman zero 2? Awesome combination! Pretty rad mod overall. :3
For the first time i see robotnik acutally controlling the robots.
I playes this so much as i kid. I'm so glad i found this hack again.
28:54 - The Metallic Sonic Duel Battle - Thunderforce Style. The best battle ever. Even it was a short one.
this music on this game is fucking sick as fuck dude. amazing
The creator of this is KiNG for using the Sonic 2 Game Gear boss music on the second zone. Fantastic.
This is actually a really great hack. Just needs to be a bit more polished, cut out its fetish for eggman monitors and get fix some cheap enemy placement.
I REALLY want that remix of Volcano Valley Act 2 at 6:06. O.O
EDIT: Also that remix of Mega Man 8's Stage Select music at 22:57! OwO
Am I the only one that gets goosebumps whenever I hear 'Splash Down' from Ristar? (12:37 onwards)
I'd get it if I heard Du-Di-Dah.
This looks great! Thanks for showcasing these hacks with your spiffy speedruns!
Love the Ristar and Thunder Force soundtracks man. Cheers!
34:00, through the power of the chaos emeralds, Sonic causes many animals fall to their deaths.
Guess that's why he now collects 7 of them.

This hack looks really good, i love how there are loops in every stage
24:30 what's this music I love it!!!
27:20 Nice MD version of the Saturn's Panic Puppet Zone music.

Pappa Chimp Try playing Mobius Evolution or The S Factor. Those hacks have custom bosses.
Sometimes the most entertaining part of a hack is seeing the demo footage during the credits when the hacker didn't bother changing Sonic's actions
+Nick Keriazakos Most of them don't. The hack Knuckles in S1 by Stealth did have that fixed.
21:43 *Sonic Dash* Menu Theme! :O
and Blue Sky from Sonic Jump
DTxHero21 lol
It is like you made this game you know exactly where to go!
Amazing walkthrough and the soundtrack is incredible!
music is good too ive heard no other remake music that sounds anywhere near right
Lo juegas bien chido mejor que yo yo apenas estoy con los hack rom de sonic sigue asi eres el mejor 😎👍
09:26 - Wait- I hear boss music playing here. Was there supposed to be a cutscene or transition where the video cut of to the Special Stage?
Also that frigging guitar in CCZ2 though...
Might give this one a try, digging the level design.
title screen music from MegaMan 10
i love the us palmtree panic music they gave in this hack.
Well that was cool. Better than everything being autumn colours for no reason.
10:20 is that megaman zero music i hear?
The music on this rom hack is FIREEEE
you sir truly are amazing I love it
Chalky Ruins, Abandoned City : where's the HUD ?
That's an awesome hack.
Good robotinik first zone; good sandy palace 2 (colors).
I tried playing this and the second to last level wouldn't let me continue, it kept playing the end of stage results over and over again. It is a great hack though, I wish I could program in assembly for the sega
That was an pretty awesome playthough! :D I've been pretty curious lately where all of the music of Anbondon City are from, they're nice tunes haha
Act 3 is Megaman 8's stage select theme.
I've yet to find out about act 1 and 2 though.
NegaNekojin Ah, thank you for finding one of them kind person :D
Act 2 is Blue Sky Zone from "Sonic Jump", used later in "Sonic Dash".
Only first act left, and it sound very familiar...
Alrighty thank you so much! Haha only one more to go!
+Tails Doll in Sonic Dash is used for menu theme
Holy Crap!!! It is Awesome FG!
it's nice to hear volcano valley
5:02 Sonic MT.bin SHC 2015 Boss Theme
what is this theme I know I heard it somewhere 0:05

I don’t know why but when ever I beat act 2 Central Chaos zone I get stuck on the results screen
Were these guys worried that you'd run out of Rings or something?
How long does it take you to master these hacks? Do you pick one and play it for days and days till you get past it flawlessly? Btw, whats that song from on Sandy Palace Act 2
yep, it takes a lot of tries
*****
And the fact is you don't get as much subscribers for that hard effort, it's sad.
+polaski421 Agreed, been watching this channel for the last weeks (huge Sonic fan). These runs are great!

Beautiful game but it's a shame the enemy placement ruins it a little bit.
Gotta say it's slightly better than some of the hacks i have provided art for.
Ironically none of my art ever got published and because license crap i was disallowed to redistribute it. but it was very good. subpar hack. neat graphics. lol
Zana GB rite.....

Zana GB was not doubting you, I just said... ''rite'' as being a little unsure about if it was true or not. Either way well done on the graphics.
sirkastic are you mad? or are you just just really sad? oh wait yeah you are.
Palmtree Panic Present US? Amazing!! And it sounds fantastic!!
Palmtree Panic Past TOO!?
*cries*
brb downloading!!
24:30 Is that....the Attack On Titan op?

What's the song on Sandy Palace Act 3???
Mega Man Zero 2 ~ Departure (Intro Stage)
Jordan Scott also sonic boom
That title screen music is almost exactly the same as the mega man 10 boss select screen music haha
What's the music of Sandy Palace act.1 ?
Can't recall where I heard it ?
It's a remix of Volcano Valley Zone - Act 1 from Sonic 3D Blast, the Genesis/Mega Drive version.
@@WickerBasket9 Oh yes thank you !
You're welcome.
@@WickerBasket9 It's actually Act 2 so...
You know, I expected something far more mediocre by the name being "Sonic Mildness". XD
вооо, вот это что-то действительно новое!
Razor, what emulator do you use?
YES MEGAMAN ZERO MUSIC
Anyone know what song is used for Chalky Ruins Act 3 ?
***** I think the songs were made for the game. Maybe they don't have a name on themselves but the name of the zone itself.
NoxUmbrae No, they're all taken from other sources.

supermariobro93
Awesome, that's some of the mystery solved.
20:26 sonic 1 and 2 win theme
anyone know Egg Blaster act 1's song?
Almost perfect. Just the world "Mildness" looks out of place on the title screen. Fix it, and this is perfect.
+Joshua Wardle I believe the subtitle "Mildness" was an intentional misnomer, not only because the game is ironically not 'mild' but intense, but also because a lot of hacks and fan games out there are given really rad or extreme subtitles, like "Megamix" or "XG" or "ZX" or "Overdrive"-to have a name that clashes so much with what's 'in style' these days, it is like a jab at the vogue naming sense.
For the life of me the Egg Blaster tracks sound familiar, but I can't place my finger on it.
I just dealt wwirh the weirdest glitch. In Central Chaos Act 2's end, the game went into an infinite score tally. it was the strangest thing I had ever seen. I could not move, I could not advance to Act 3.

Abandoned City Zone Act 1 BGM is Smile.DK - Boys
Where have I heard the instruments in Sandy Palace 1 before?
Kidou It's a slowed down version of Final Fortress from Sonic Heroes.
JCRMLSS10 Actually it's Volcano Valley from Sonic 3D Blast (Genesis). It's a little remixed though.
Dave15166 Oh my god thank you that was bugging me all month.
It's a remix of Volcano Valley from Sonic 3d Blast (Genesis Version)

Eggman at the end tho :P
Does anyone if this Rom can be played on original Sega genesis hardware console
