If your fun is something else then just do whatever and don't let no silly video tell you what to do. Hopefully you did find something useful or entertaining though
My personal picks as ranger (3-6-1 or 4-6-0) will be desert, asgarnia and varlamor. Not sure what to pick first, but probably asgarnia for the void and then desert. For the last pick ill choose varlamore for the chalange and practice in coliseum. Kourend as the 3rd pick for the raid also seems attractive. Fremenik is super good for the gear but i just dont see interesting chalange there. Hardest pick on which im unsure for is first skilling pick (mining of fishing). Mining would solve ammo problems and fishing would solve food. Dragon arrows and darts are not easy to get so getting amethyst ammo would be nice. Im still debating which skill is better for me.
seems pretty good, if you want max power for sure frem is huge, but you're right that it doesnt have raids or colosseum etc. good luck on your colosseum practice!!!
The plan I'm going with for Melee isn't here, it's Varla, Mory, and Tira. You get main game BiS accessories from Varla and Mory, solid gloves in Mory, then Crystal with the Hunleff Blessing will far outstripe damage of full Torva. Plus then ranged is just two swaps away, Bowfa and Quiver from Colo. Plus if you need to mage any, you do get full Virtus and Toxic Trident as well! I haven't had time to look at regions for my alt though, so the summaries of the other styles is really helpful!
5/5/0 with crystal was very appealing to me but at the end of the day it's farming gauntlet. With one of the mini reveals today you can melee Zulrah though which does sound funny
One note, the league DPS is looking like 40 currently Minor changes will push you to 45, but when you're doing 4X main game the difference is not significant and may be better to have more fun regions over maximizing out the DPS
@@DripQuestYTtrue but also going straight to hunleff will be nice and it'll feel more like a regular boss grind and less like a cg grind. Assuming rates are the same and echo isn't too crazy
OSRS wiki states the strength difference between loaded drygore and charged toxic blowpipe is only 10, so I'm not sure I agree with your BiS ranged areas. I think Asgarnia could be better than Tirannwn. If we get a spec relic, Zaryte crossbow will be BiS ranged spec weapon, able to guarantee 110 damage per specs on a high hp boss, because now it never misses. Nothing compares to that, and bowfa is just not as good as it, even without the spec. And with fortified masori and zaryte vems from asgarnia, with dogsword, and the ability to mine amethyst for ammo, I think this is overall better than 8 ranged strength. Id even say varlamore is a better pick than Tirannwn, with the gloves and the boots it provides both being BiS for ranged, as we don't need accuracy from pegasians, and the double healing being OP with the ranged heal relic. Otherwise very nice video, loving the different types of build options!
I had to get the video out in one day after the reveal of combat masteries for it to be relevant content, so I missed some theorycrafting and discussion that has been done in the mean time, and I agree that the ranged build has more nuance than I originally gave it credit for. asgarnia looks stronger than the "maybe sneak asgarnia in" I said in the video
@@krakwithak Tbf i didnt even realise the drygore gave 10 strength until i checked on the wiki today, if it didn't the choice whether to take Tirannwn or Asgarnia would be far more difficult! Thanks for the content!
TFM and TFZ are actually very strong choices for melee. You can Noxious hally or Nature's reprisal Zulrah for the Blowpipe too. BoFa and Blowpipe will be strong at the Inferno, Olm, Shamans, the rope room, Grotesque Guardians and Nylocas room.
Bit of a random one here as a video idea. Im considering taking varlamore as my first region but I am yet to go there properly in the main game. Ive been trying to find a video which would be like a tour of the whole place going through things like whats in the dungeon and what shops there are etc and all the methods like the prayer etc. not in depth on anything but just a general overview. What with leagues being just around the corner you may not have time but just thought I’d throw that out there as a suggestion of some content I’d love to see you make. Super excited to see what you do in leagues regardless and good luck with echo sol💀
I try pick an area with skilling that i find enjoyable, an area with bosses i find enjoyable, and an area where I can acquire gear to fight those bosses. That being said, I plan on going ranged. And picking A,D,V most likely. A, for the GWD and Mole, bosses i'm familiar with and will have fun fighting (Cerb as well) Desert will cover ammo/ KQ is another boss and TOA is a possible raid. Gem shop, Pyramid plunder, and Tempoross are skilling activities I enjoy. And Last was a hard one between V&M, however i think that Moons being self contained and ironman friendly will lend to easy gear progression as I use the Moons gear on my main currently. You also get mixology, one of the only ways to level herblore without farming relic. And the new Agl arena will be a nice afk skilling option. And there's huey and Colloseum and the glacial boss if that appeals to you.
5:45 actually FTA is best for blowpipes, given that void just outclasses masori. However, if you want the TBow you will need some raid region, so that'd make AFD or AFZ the best (with either drygore or salamander being your weapon progression towards tbow)
Actually Void is stronger than Masori and darts + Ward/Buckler = Drygore so Desert is equal to Morytania or Zeah since the only possible upgrade from your 3rd region is the Twisted bow which outclasses any other build. The only place where Scythe is stronger is the regular Nightmare and that's it.
I was planning on saving TVZ for until after Sailing comes out, since I feel the 'Western Sea' between them would nicely tie the regions together. But with how strong the synergies are looking, I decided I'd go for it after all (especially since Jagex effectively scuttled my plans for an AMV joke build to assemble Echo Boots... but hey at least they'll look nice with the default colours of crystal armour, haha). Thinking over the combat masteries, I think I'll go with 6-1-3. Having the option to long distance melee with Kourend's echo, there would be not a lot of places where I'd switch off-style, so I think I'll just go for the mage sub just to 3:0 Olm's right claw with the Zeah-mander and eventually the Shadow. SMG Blowpipe is pretty funny, but my region combination makes it somewhat hard to source darts, so I don't think I can rely on that for a range sub unfortunately. Gonna do the unadvised thing and start with Tirannwn first. Power Mining Zalcano, at a low(?) level. It's gonna be heck. >:)
Thank you so much for this list! I'm mostly skilling while I play osrs, so it's good to know there's not too much pressure in picking certain regions over others :) You did say it's not worth picking Kandarin over all, but might it be viable for skilling? Such as hunter and agility maybe? I've never managed to get too far in leagues before, but I want to try this year.
It might be, but almost every region has skilling methods, I decided not to include them in this video, look for information from another creator for that or just do what you want

I was super torn yesterday as well, but I'm leaning toward dropping asgarnia for frem. The only really big thing you lose is the zcb, dogsword, and amethyst (which could be important if there's a spec relic). But after those three things, it's pretty barren if you plan to main range. Meanwhile from frem you get a fun weapon (venator bow), you get 5x ammo savings, and you get biiiiiiiiiig dps And just for my preference, I haven't done a lot of the frem content (no muspah or duke) and gwd is kind of boring to me after a while But of course, do the content that you think you will enjoy the most! I'm so sold on the 5/5 build, with echo boss mechanics being unknown I'm gonna not redeem the slayer mob point until after echos, in case I end up needing the tier 6 effect to beat them
Wildy was so good for free points last league, I feel like your whole "for points" segment was just do what you have fun with instead of any evaluation.
T6 melee is genuinely *not that good* so i'm actually seriously considering a 5/5 build. It will change immediately during the league if people prove the echo bosses im up against use the Prayers, but otherwise the passive for Tier 6 of prayer penetration is actually *useless* for me in VMF because nothing uses overhead prayers. And the melee T6 is just like... a 7.5% dps buff? The rare chance for DH to absolutely CHUNK but thats not that exciting if its super rare. Instead i'll likely be going 2t Tbow and 2t Scythe.
5/5 isn't risky like you said, the t6 combat masteries are pretty mid, especially the range one as the weapons that benefit most from the other 5 tiers are all already extremely accurate, and the "hit through prayer" effect is fairly pointless as almost nothing prays against the player anyway, demonic gorillas do, but if you're taking kandarin you've got bigger problems than needing to hit through prayer
Yes, I pinned a comment and think 5/5 is going to be pretty good after seeing more discussion on it. but I disagree t6 is mid, blowpipe/knives/darts hugely benefit hugely from guaranteed hits, prayers are on tormented demons, gauntlet, raids 3, all pieces of content a lot of people will be doing. melee t6 can do actually ludicrous damage, and mage t6 annihilates anything with low-mid health pools. t6 is great. but 5/5 also turns out it could be great, props to Jagex for good design on that one
@@krakwithak It's such a funny guaranteed game winner. So much so, I don't think I'm going to do it lol Just throwing dragon darts with a dragonfire ward is the same DPS as BP, just hardly no range :p
Magic is probably going to be better than Melee for AFKing, look at how the Magic 4 and Magic 6 masteries work together. Don't even need Ancients unlocked. You're also sleeping on the Khopesh for melee, it's being theorized to be better than Scythe (because of rounding, Scythe doesn't play well with the echo hits). Dogsword is for healing and defense reduction, every region gets Burning Claws, which are higher DPS, and if you're using Total Recall anyways healing is irrelevant.
If you mean afking slayer mobs it sure is, but if I want to afk a boss like bandos, you have robes competing with bloodfury justy healing Varlamore gloves plus melees leech relic. No shot mage is that strong AFK. you might be right about me sleeping on the kopesh though, I was mostly looking at it's special effect and not being too impressed over it's raw DPS, haven't looked into that or heard other theorycrafting on it yet
@@krakwithak Yeah GWD would probably be too much damage taken for the magic build, I was more thinking slayer, Fight Caves, Wildy demibosses, F2P giant keys, clue scrolls, totems; with spam resetting open to everyone though I don't think it would be worth afking the GWD bosses
drygore bp is only 1.5 dps less than toxic bp with the t6 range mastery. and bowfa with t6 is worse than drygore bp on t3.... you do not NEED tirannwn for range.
0:59 solomission is trash though? he always falls out of the race after week 1. Theres a reason his MUH RANK JUAN screenshots are momentary 1 minute snapshots of 1 to 10k points. Zerg rush the easiest points in the game for clickbait, get your clickbait for like 5-10 days, be left in the dust now that you dont have easy 200 point challenges left. Every leagues. How have you not picked up on it
But everyone knows his name and those screenshots, making him the perfect example to use in a video. Also he makes great content, especially around leagues time, absolute beast!
I'm really confused why they made the Tier 6 for Range and Magic be huge consistency boosts, but Melee it's a huge RNG roll. Means I'll probably be going from a 6/0/4 to a 5/0/5
@@krakwithak I'm personally expecting the Echo bosses to be balanced around the higher tier of relics, especially the harder ones like Sol might be balanced around you already being Tier 6 with some sides. So my expectation a 5/5/0 is a build that might struggle a little more with Echo content but will make all non-echo content super comfortable and easy
@@exa_eille i would guess 5/5/0 is great in raids or other hybrid content, but any time you have the option to use one style 6 will be crazy DPS while still having reasonable hybrid

Yes, I pinned a comment and think 5/5 is going to be pretty good after seeing more discussion on it. but I disagree t6 is mid, blowpipe/knives/darts hugely benefit hugely from guaranteed hits, prayers are on tormented demons, gauntlet, raids 3, all pieces of content a lot of people will be doing. melee t6 can do actually ludicrous damage, and mage t6 annihilates anything with low-mid health pools. t6 is great. but 5/5 also turns out it could be great, props to Jagex for good design on that one
also echo bosses are very likely to have prayers
I just want to have fun :)
I'm sure you'll have no problem doing so, leagues is awesome
@@krakwithak And this one seems to be the best one yet, cant wait!
I really really hope the inevitable clue relic is not against grimoire..
It’s not
Smh no mention of Justiciar Blowpipe. Unsubbed.
Jk, great video and great points made! Have fun, everyone!
yeah I saw the range tank build today haha, that looks funny, woulda included it if I had seen/thought of it while making the vid
@@krakwithak It's such a funny guaranteed game winner. So much so, I don't think I'm going to do it lol
Just throwing dragon darts with a dragonfire ward is the same DPS as BP, just hardly no range :p
You'd be absolutely right for that sorta content
drygore bp is only 1.5 dps less than toxic bp with the t6 range mastery. and bowfa with t6 is worse than drygore bp on t3.... you do not NEED tirannwn for range.
Obviously you don't NEED anything for anything, you can pick whatever
Ultor is in varlamore these league
void adds more dps than masori im afraid
True, that would pull ahead with guaranteed accuracy, definitely makes that Asgardia pick more enticing
Means I'll probably be going from a 6/0/4 to a 5/0/5
rng is fun
Cool, I'm keen to see the 5/5/0 builds, but I certainly want those tier 6 for way more power on the main style
