    Just used on my Joy Xtra to make a Christmas ornament. I apply vinyl to back to make engraving stand out. Loved how it turned out.

    😎! I have the foil tip for the joy xtra. After my warranty is up, can I use it for score lines using the basic cut feature? Following the instructions based on the engraving you did in this video? Or, will you make another video on scoring with the joy xtra, using the foil tip and basic cut feature?

    Also question… do u keep operation as basic cut? Just before u load Matt change your tool ? Also what kind of acrylic or the brand? Or what was the max thickness

    • @CorinneBlackstone
      @CorinneBlackstone  2 місяці тому

      @@chastitymcelrath556 as noted in the video yes it’s all done as a basic cut function. Everything used in the video is linked in the description. For the joy the acrylic needs to be quite thin as the bar sits very low. The extra can do a bit thicker but not much as again the bar is low. I go over all of that in the video.

      I’ve always assumed it would void it if something went wrong when using a non-Cricut tool in a given machine & someone wanted to try to get the warranty to cover repairs or more. I’ll add that if someone has a credit card that offers extra warranty beyond a manufacturer’s when paying fully for the item with the card, then I suspect the same issue would apply if seeking some type of coverage. Not to suggest at all that you didn’t, Corrine, test this & other adapters well before sharing, but I don’t want anything to happen to my Cricut machines even after any warranty has expired. I already had an issue like that & it wasn’t due to using any adapter or incorrect usage (my Maker rubber rollers at the ends we’re getting damaged by the gears).

    I’m a lil confused they say the joy and xtra doesn’t engrave but there is an engrave “blade” or whatever u call it on Amazon that says it’s specifically for cricut joys and it’s for actually engraving…?! lol WTH. I’m going to try this but I’ll prob be confused the first five times lol

    • @CorinneBlackstone
      @CorinneBlackstone  2 місяці тому

      @@chastitymcelrath556 as discussed in the video the tool is not made by cricut and cricut did not intend for the joy to engrave. The cricut joy and joy xtra have the exact same blade housing and holder which means they share the exact same tools.
