    Thank you for this tutorial! Quick question if I was to not select any clips [from beginning to end] and just went straight to bounce to disk, would pro tools automatically create a file from the beginning of the audio to the end?
    Thank you

      You are welcome! Yes, that's exactly the behavior. With nothing selected, Pro Tool will bounce everything from beginning to end... INCLUDING stray automation. If you have any breakpoints anywhere on your timeline after your last audio clip, Pro Tools will continue to bounce until that last bit of automation. This could leave you with a bounced file with a ton of blank space at the end. Something to be mindful of. Cheers!

    I did like you did. but after bouncing, there are many tracks. It does not combined in one track even I choose Intervinced.

      Make sure you are bouncing from the FILE menu and not the track menu. The function is currently called BOUNCE TO MIX. Give that a shot!

    Well my bounced files are grayed out and can't click... what does that mean

    I’m bouncing the file but I can’t hear any audio from it

      Make sure you either DE-SELECT everything to bounce the entire project (RETURN does this wonderfully) or make sure to select exactly what you'd like to bounce. If you have, for example, a blank space highlighted even just a little, you may not get any sound.

    Is there a way to bounce to an MP4 file? Or do I have to bounce a WAV file and then convert to an MP4 file? Don’t think you can do in Pro Tools First.

      Not to the best of my knowledge. It's always possible a plug-in exists to achieve this but natively Pro Tools can bounce wav, aiff, mp3, mov or mxf. For batch converting or just fast format conversions I generally use dbpoweramp. Cheers!

    Why is this called "bounce"? What does committing a mix into a file have to do with the everyday meaning of "bounce"? I have a suspicion this is somehow descended from mixing on multi-track audio tape, with a limited number of tracks available for mix results, necessitating recording over no-longer needed tracks, in a series of steps which "bounces" from one tape track to another. But that is surely irrelevant these days, so I'm at a loss for what "bounce" means when applied to a DAW.

      It wasn't all that long ago that Pro Tools actually still "bounced" everything in real time. When that was still the case... your 10 minute edit took 10 minutes to "bounce". Rendering in real time though had... and still HAS it's benefits ESPECIALLY if you are using a lot of hardware in conjunction with Pro Tools. As an example, most of my EQ and compression is done with external hardware. This being the case, when BOUNCING, I can "bounce" my tracks out of Pro Tools, through the hardware and then back into my DAW. On an HDX system you can do this with minimal latency as compared to a native install of PT. Truthfully... no idea why they chose that vernacular but that's my best guess without digging in too deeply. I truly appreciate how legacy compliant PT is with itself BUT that does mean we suffer through for aged ideas. Cheers!

    I trying to figure out after i bounve my song as mp3. The whole song sounds muffled but in protools it sounds great ... how can i fix that ...

    • @GoodMorningAudio
      @GoodMorningAudio  2 роки тому

      I'd look into what settings you are using for the MP3. MP3 files are "lossy" and with lower a lower bit rate the audio quality can definitely be adversely affected. I'd recommend using 160kbps or higher. 320 is the larger size is OK for you.

      @@blown9079 how did you change the output to the correct one when bouncing ? I’ve been having issues getting the mix to sound the same after bouncing .

      In the BOUNCE MIX dialog (in PT ver 2021.12), in the top portion of the dialog you have FILE NAME, followed by FILE TYPE and just under that you have a drop box allowing you to select the output BOUNCED from. Cheers!

    Can these bounced files be mixed by the receiving party?

    • @GoodMorningAudio
      @GoodMorningAudio  3 роки тому +1

      Not a bounced file. Bouncing is, generally, the process of committing a mix. You COULD bounce stems and then those could be mixed externally by someone else later.
