Never owned a horse. Never owned a mule. Never owned a hound or hunted lions or anything you do really. But your channel has absolutely become one of my few favorites that I look forward to every episode. Pleasant and real...keep 'em coming and thanks for sharing! Greetings from MT.
Every time you take Bonnie out she adds $1,000 to your $50,000 goal. She will become a celebrity. I could smell the rain while watching the trip. Thank you for the adventure.
She just enjoy's being out, i had a horse loved being out and looked at everything, never had issue with her...my horse loved watching my dog chase the deer,,,and i told come on go and pointed her to the dog running,, omg so much fun going thought the trees/never hit my foot or knees she always knows where they are....her out right running is very soft one amazing horse she was
It's impossible to not fall in love with Bonnie. She is so beautiful. Looking forward to seeing Clyde on the trails. Love your new puppy. 54 years ago i had my very first pet dog, German Shepherd. His name was "Duke". I miss him still to this day. God Bless you Brett and may the Peace of the Lord always be with you. 😊
Thanks again for dragging me along on another fun adventure. Your videos are always a highlight in my mornings. I'm 65 and nursing a broken arm that enhances the 2 blown discs in my back. Needless to say I won't be able to make any adventures on my own. I thank you for doing what you do and sharing it. You will probably never realize how much enjoyment and relief your videos bring me. I'm sure I'm not the only one. I'm not rich, so all I can do is say thank you! Keep Smiling and Stay Grateful
Great country, elk, turkey, mountain breezes, rain on the leaves, and needles….thunder cracking….cooking on open fire….eating outside, most people never experience it ! I’m going again fore long, think I told you I was down to Alpine, north of you…not long ago. Thanks Brett 🤠👍 I luv that mule ! !
Thank you for sharing your adventure with us Brett. Felt like I was right there with you. Bonnie was quite a find for you. She has a spring in her step that shows she likes going on your adventures. Keep the content coming, you have a great platform and I truly enjoy coming along for the ride. May the Good Lord bless you and keep you where ever you may go.
When you get comfortable with Bonnie and she gets comfortable with you , I think you will really enjoy the way she steps out and takes in her surroundings .
I had a buddy with a mule named Spark Plug he sold and reposited him three times. We renamed him Boomerang. Your videos truly do keep getting better and better. Wet saddle blankets every day will fix any problems with that fine mule.
Thank you for taking us along it's so relaxing to watch you with your animals and camping in the peace and quiet, I could almost smell the rain. Please keep sharing your travels.
I thought about "Yelp" too, or "Howler." How about "Yodel" maybe? He'll grow out of the whine, but sometimes first impressions stick, and I happen to like puns, so I'm thinking "Merlot" because he's kinda red and whines 😁! That's a nice little homestead in that canyon--I was already checking the place on Google Earth before Brett rode down to it--I like it when video producers don't try to hide the location of their outings.
I made the same mistake once and ended up at that house. I was coming down black canyon and was worried about getting shot. Turned out they are super nice people. If everyone would respect other’s property they would probably leave the gate open. Thanks for sharing
I really love Bonnie, she is such a good mule! She has her issues but we all do lol! If I were to name the puppie right now it would be squealer, because he cries a lot probably because he is a puppie and wants his mamma!
Enjoyed that rain you had a few hours north of you. In the woods now watching this with my dogs ( they chew cud!) they all heard the puppy, and the coyote call sent them to orbit! 8500' is low enough for me , but I do like the desert in winter. That Bonnie is beautiful! I live at saddle speed!
Your determination and resilience during the 3-day camping journey in the rain, balancing cooking and riding, showcase your adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors. Your ability to find joy in challenging conditions inspires admiration. And I am Floating Village Life
If you want to make your coat or a brush popper melt 500grms of paraffin wax and add one pint of mineral oil. Iron the mixture onto what ever and it will shed water like a duck! Won't be stiff at all. Stays payable and not oily either. You'll want to do everything. You can make great tarps out of king size bed sheets too.
That pup sure squalls like a predator call ..😂 ... maybe Bonnie could smell what was tracking you... 🤔 Anyway, that was sure a nice trip in spite of the rain.. Reminds me of the days when I was strong enough to do all of what you do.. That's why I enjoy your channel so much. Keep going as long as you can👍
Thanks again for another fantastic adventure. The wilderness is the best!!!! Beautiful mule and so happy she is going to be a good hand!!!! How about Quirt for a name for the pup? Well done again on a great adventure. You ARE living the life!!!
About a month ago I got a dachshund pup to keep my adult female Pippa company. He was born all white which is unusual for a dachshund but he’s getting some faint tan markings on his ears now. I’ve named him Cooper.
AWSOME Video! Thank you for taking us along. I have a perfect name for your new dog. "COMO TU" You'd get a chuckle when asked, what's his name. I also think you Hit a Homerun with Bonnie. You never disappoint, I get lost in you video's. Not a bad thing. Thanks again Sir.
That big metal tank-in them rocks was an old boiler for steam engine that ran a sawmill. That was an old sawmill camp in that area. I seen it about 50 years ago. 👊👍😎
You need a lunchbox stove. They are sold at any truckstop. On days when it’s raining you can plug it into the cigarette lighter plug-in on your dash and heat up a can of soup or even cook a meal right there in the cab of your truck. Use those aluminum pans and cleanup is a breeze.
Glad to see you in the high country with green trees and camping. You look happy up there. I got 2 new horses I’m working on so I haven’t been on a mountain in a while
Bonnie seems like riding a thoroughbred 😂 gotta hold em back if you’re going for leisure. She’s a beauty though for sure ❤ great video. Loved the terrain .
I am so enjoying your videos! Makes me want to saddle up and hit the trails.. I used to love horse-camping and, like Bonnie, my young mare needs some uphill miles.. She’s gaited, has a fast natural walk, and wants to go, go, go!
Once again amazing video bud. Mule is sure turning out great. Can't wait to see more of that pup. N more information on him too . Keep livin the dream bud.
Bret, I've done a LOT of camping, and one thing I always loved was waking up to the birds........looks like ya got a good mule, and are having fun.....far as I know, that's a great thing man...:) . . . . . Thanks for taking us along Bret ......."Brownie" for the purp........OnWard.......
Thanks for your channel and sharing your experiences. I grew up on a Ranch in Southeastern Colorado and saw a lot of those native American peckings and paintings. Found a lot of artifacts while hunting cattle or being horseback for any reason. I watch on UA-cam T V and finally figured out how to subscribe and hit the "Like" button but I have to get on my phone to comment. I also used to rope a lot. USTRC #4 header and heeler. I haven't roped in a bunch of years. My music was keeping me so busy I had to let my horses go. Now, horseflesh is so high, at 76 years old, I don't want to spend the money..LOL! Keep up the good work!
You bet thank you for watching ... I use to rope a lot but like you said horse flesh is so high .. I finally got a good mule again but I would like to find me a nice heel horse or at least a prospect that I could afford before I can't do it anymore .. Thanks
She has a very nice animated walk. Happy to be alive! My horse always had the same look when we went out in a new area in the metro park woods, she never exploded.
Those guys and gals are coming through on that road on the Tour Divide Bike Race that started in June 16 up in Canada and finishing in Antelope Wells…dealing with rain. Yuk. However beautiful country…went downstream from your camp fishing…came across a couple graves. Also fished upstream, was a lot of fun. Mule is great. Love watching you work with here. The trail on the other side of the creek used to be a mess…you end up on a cliff overlooking the creek. Maybe it is better now.
If you’re still working on a name for your pup, how about Clyde or whatever name you don’t use for Bonnie’s stable mate. There will be a tie in to your new crew. Loved the video.
I would enjoy every minute of going camping just love it the sounds of the rain the forest the woods just love itl Thanks for sharing you got this good luck love the dog.
This old biker just enjoyed the trail. It reminds me of the days my Harley would just idle on them trails but she always gave me the adventure. Lol some people would say, hey ya got out here on that bike, lol as I ate my MRE. I would call my Harley my lil mule. Thanks from Gonzales Louisiana.... Ps, I was supposed to b cutting grass, hell, I'll get it done tomale.
Sure enjoy your videos. This area looks extra nice. I'll have to look it up. I want to share my camping pizza. "Stone fire" Naam bread. "Stone mill" Artichoke, jalapeno, parmesan dip spread. I make a topping cooked ahead with chicken, onions, garlic, mushrooms a little bit of oregano, and pesto. you can add any other veggies too. A little shredded cheese on top. Cook over the fire in a pan or dutch oven would work well, or on a BBQ grill with foil. About 15 minutes or until heated. The bread gets crispy and boy is it tasty! Until next time!
Brett that Bonnie sure reminds me of my old Arabian. No fear. She thrived on adventure and would get so excited when I hooked up the trailer and practically drag me on to it. I think that’s what Bonnie is, just likes to go see places. That balled up feeling is probably a well balanced critter in good self carriage, an athelete, using her whole body. When you get a horse or mule that moves like that, buddy you definitely hit the jackpot!
I think so .. she is fun to ride and the more I do the more confidence I get in her ... next we are taking a pack mule .. Thanks for the support I made a video just for members that has some parts that I cut out of this one .. if you like ..
Great video! I remember going on pack trips in the mountains of West Virginia. We would stop by a small branch or creek and catch native Brook Trout. We would cook them and fried potatoes for lunch. We would then ride for about three hours and setup camp . For the people that has not experienced camping in the wild and riding mules to get there . Can not understand the draw to keep doing. The taste of camp food can not be duplicated by any 5 star chef. Thanks for taking me back in time. God bless and onwards and upward.
Really is a beautiful country, those pines must smell awesome in the rain after a hot day your pack mule could have fun keeping up with Bonnie?😃 thanks for sharing Bret. Appreciate looking around through your eyes and lens, that's a fantastic little pup you've got, keen to what you end up calling the pup. 🇦🇺👍🇺🇸😃
I really enjoyed your video as always. I appreciate you sharing your experience and adventures. Thank you for sharing them. I was thinking of Bonnie the way-she keeps looking around often. Could be that she is enjoying the ride and the views that surround her. The person that owned her before you may not have ridden her in places like you do. It could be that her protective instincts is more heightened because the bond you both are creating together.
Wow!! Noticed your tin can cup!! I made one right after we got married. Went camping and was short 1..Wife was impressed!! Still have it hanging in my living room!! Cup gotta be pushing 50 yr old!! Love it!! THX
My riding horse is same way. I've had him since he was 1 turned 22 this year and still rides out like that. I've always said it like riding a time boom but he has never blown up. A guy can cover some ground like that. Love riding him.
Brett, beautiful country it reminds me again Payson Az area, pines, big & small Mtn’s with shrubs. No traffic maybe bird chirping, dogs barking especially new puppy. Thanks bringing us along.-Kid

Down that far south you can grub out some scrub oak for grilling meat in the southern most Tiaga of the inter mountain Rockies. The rain there reminds me of the summer monsoons there in the San Francisco Peaks of Arizona.
Appreciate the ride enjoyed it awesome country, good workout for her ,we appreciate the time you spent putting in to your videos thanks and be safe. Sisco from south Texas.

I also think you Hit a Homerun with Bonnie.
You never disappoint, I get lost in you video's. Not a bad thing.
Thanks again Sir.
Your mystery object was an old boiler used to generate steam. Most old mines and or sawmills had them for power. Cheers Dave from down under
Great adventure. Best channel on youtube
Great Video! Always love watching you outdoors with your mule and dogs! Making me jealous!
I have been in the mountains years ago when a flash flood came through an Arroyo where I had been only a few minutes earlier. Be careful.

I know what you mean about palm leaf hats. I’m on the 4th of 5 that I bought about 12 years ago.
She sure covers the country good. Think you’re going to get along good. Got some bad needed rain last few days, thank god.
You need a lunchbox stove. They are sold at any truckstop. On days when it’s raining you can plug it into the cigarette lighter plug-in on your dash and heat up a can of soup or even cook a meal right there in the cab of your truck. Use those aluminum pans and cleanup is a breeze.

Yes, Bonnie is a good looking mule. Nice country that you are in and you got some weather.
Beautiful mule and My favorite spot. Black Canyon. Many memories there. We were there in the spring shed hunting. Lots of country.
I had a dunn horse once, he could run faster and farther with hobbles than most horses could without. Finally started using an anchor.
Always look forward to your next adventure, you hit a home run with this one, thanks for the ride.
Bonnie seems like riding a thoroughbred 😂 gotta hold em back if you’re going for leisure. She’s a beauty though for sure ❤ great video. Loved the terrain .
