Truly one man out here going "But what if..." You're an absolute legend.
Its crazy :) What I REALLY like is that even tho the water is SSR there are not those classic artifacts towards the sides of the screen, where the SSR is missing in ALL of the AAA(A) games. You are basically the only person, who dealt with this huge issue of the SSR technology. HOW?! :D
I think there's no missing SSR towards the sides of the screen because SSS's SSR isn't geometrically accurate unlike most other implementation (try to move the camera up and down looking at the water).
@@dlanian maybe you are right - to me it appears like its using some off-screen data, but I have no idea :)
@@HybOj its not using offscreen data; bunch of tricks & hacks to stretch the reflections.
Lvutner is right, this is just smoke and mirrors. But I prefer the inaccurate result than the weird fade on the border of the screen.
@@ascii1457 I prefer it as well, smoke and mirrors - thats the whole raster render anyway - and as long as it produces nice images, Im all in. Our life is smoke and mirrors as well, so its realistic. Thanks for your work, its really nice!!!

Beautiful work as always. Would it be possible to add a TAA option for those of us who can't stand jaggies? The TAA mod Alias Isolation did wonders for Alien Isolation. Anyway, great update!
What's the method for water displacement with waves/wind layer? I was randomly racking my brain about this last night and now I see this!
I'm using a normal map for the wind layer and parallax for the waves.

I don't know if you can do it because it has nothing to do with graphics.
the feature is: headtracking like arma 3.
with the possibility of moving the weapon almost independently.
Instead of using the left alt and moving the mouse to look sideways, use inputs coming from headtracking.
I don't know how complicated it is to do this, where do I suggest feature for someone to do it?
Sadly, that's out of my line of work... I don't think there's any specific place to REALLY suggest new features. The best option if you want something new, is to learn things and do it your self.

I was able to solve blinding pulse problem by editing file bind_anomaly_field.script.
I divided every pAno_light.lanim_brightness variable setting as such; pAno_light.lanim_brightness = 0.2/div_brightness
local div_brightness=150 was good enough for my modlist, using Atmospherics and Cinematic VFX 3.7

and when installed , are the effects set at max graphics from the beginning ?
GAMMA automatically install the package, but some features are disabled. SSS doesn't use max graphics by default, all shaders are set at medium/low settings.

I'm curious about how is the temporal accumulation part work.
The reflection buffer keep samples from old frames to build up the SSR image over time. To keep this image stable and without to much blur, pixels are updated based on the camera velocity, out of screen uvs and reprojection to keep the data when possible.
Dear god, it just keeps coming. Maybe you'll actually fix the Anti-Aliasing and make it possible to use DLSS, and FSR someday to make this game truly playable for everyone...

Imo, you have reached the point of which you wont have to improve these reflections any more for years, or atleast untill we get a new engine or game.
GG best looking reflections with current tech.
last time i played stalker i did anomaly escape from pripyat with low/mid graphics to reach a playable state (atleast 90 fps) for me.
Imagine if we could get stalker with all of these super nice looking graphics and shader mods but with a high framerate, guess we need some new multithreading tech or something.
That poor rendering thread...
There's plenty of space for improvements. But at least it's ok now.
