I tried to model my house using Sims 4. It was impossible. You're limited to rooms that fit a 1 metre (1 yard) grid. There are many other limitations too. Like you can't have split levels, and there is a very limited choice of furniture, windows, doors, etc.. I'm still looking for an affordable home modelling software.
I agree. I have been trying to learn build mode & get comfortable with designing. After spending hours & hours (days, weeks) trying to master it but instead I’ve become more frustrated. Things don’t line up, or completely disappear. It’s a pain placing things because they don’t want to go where you want them to go, even when using all the mods & cheats! And so I keep looking for something similar but less tedious.
@@scotth6814 I use cc modes, honestly the Sims 4 without modes is boring, just download modes in your game, everything you are complaining about you will get in modes
@@jknntm maybe you didn't save them, I don't face the same problem, mine is completely fine, and when your game updates it will remove the cheats and mods, all you need to do is to re-install the mods back
It might be too late, but if you are still interested, I'm building a free home design web app. It is completely in 3d with realistic real-time render. It'd be great to have you give it a test run.@@scotth6814
Thank you so much for this. But are this tools free to use on phones? And what size of Android phone can work with this tools? Will also appreciate if you could drop the links to downloading these tools. Lastly, can you share a detailed video on how to use these tools to create a floor plan design from scratch. Am a new architecture student just about starting school with no basic knowledge and so am doing extra research on UA-cam. Thank you
Hi, Which of these is the simplest to use for a beginner, to be able to visualise the living room furnishing options in 2D and 3D to scale? This would help greatly! It could help avoid expensive mistakes Great video, thank you!
Is there an app that allows you to rearrange your EXISTING furniture in your home so that you don't have to physically move them? In other words, you take a picture of your room with all YOUR furniture and then you can move them around in the app to see what it would look like. I research and cannot find any that allows you to do this.
One such app is the IKEA Place app, which allows you to browse and place IKEA furniture in your home using your smartphone's camera. Another app is the Amikasa app, which allows you to customize and arrange furniture from a variety of brands in 3D. The Homestyler app is another option, which allows you to create a 3D model of your room and add furniture to it.
It might be too late, but if you are still interested, I'm building a free home design web app that can deliver what you described. It'd be grea to have you give it a test run.

I tried it. VERY limited choice of windows, doors, furniture, etc
I have it. It actually has tons of customization options. And you can design and export your model into other 3d software. Planner 5d…. Can’t do that.
How do you use autocad for a beginner?
I am currently in interior design school and am unsure what is best for the industry.
what did you come up with?
Sketchup but for app Homestyler
