Cheers for the videos bro. I'm new to riding so I need all the tips I can get. Maintenance and riding tips
Hey bud How's it been !! I like the squeeze bottle idea, I've been just using a little bucket but your idea is much better for even coverage...it's the little things sometimes lol I like you man...your channels gonna blow up !! keep up the great work !!
I wanted to make it easier, since I clean my filters all the time. Squeeze bottle is working pretty well. Thanks for encouragement bro!
Johnny Yuhas any type is ok, I like nonpetroleum stuff that's why I use notoil
So no one is going to talk about the dog sleeping in the top left?
Another awesome video man! Air filter maintenance is key to having the bike running in top shape 😀
yeah, keep those filters clean!
Geez some of these comments 🤦🏼♂️
Wow, I never thought of using ketchup. Learn something everyday. Just kidding.
hahah, in my first air filter video I actually used ketchup bottle for filter oil.. to add little more confusion, :)
hey i have a question. when i oil my air filter it doesnt become sticky or something. i use putoline air filter oil so it should be good right? i let my air filters dry for a couple of days and even on new air filters it wont become sticky but it just stays wet. do you know what could be the problem?
Great video! Thanks for the support 👍
I use gas to clean and chainsaw bar oil to oil my filter 😂...seriously..it’s stuff I always have readily available so no kits for me. Great vid 👍🏼
That's awesome. How does it work holding back the dirt?
KingJamesVL I always used wd40 to clean then PAM to oil😂
@@Mackenzie.Grant95 I imagine with bar oil being extremely tacky, it would work well. I used to heat my house with wood and found the dust stuck pretty well to the bar of the saw.
Should I use k&n oil? On yz 250
Any oil i guess is ok
no, you cannot, k&n air filter oil is only meant for there reusable pleated cotton screen type filters, not for foam filters it is not tacky and will just leak out of a foam filter i know from experience lol🤣
Why does it need to be oiled?
to catch all the fine particles
Remember to put grease on the rim where it touches the air box for a type of gasket!
yes!
Thanks man
I dont think putting oil that much on the filter is not good. It will limit the air specially in high revolution.
Its looks like a ketchup by theway
Works for me every time
What oil do you use
wow, never knew you needed this much oil
yea, quite a bit..
Better a little too much than not enought
i would say he went a little bit too light to be honest i dunk mine in a container of oil and then squeeze out as much as i can
@@jacobgomer That's my struggle ... finding that balance of enough, but not too much. Too much would affect the airflow and breathing, and not enough might allow dirt to penetrate.
Haii,, do you need to dry out the oil before put back into the bike?
no, it should be sticky.. it wont dry anyway
Hi, can this oil also be put in the filter of a scooter 50? Is it the same if I put in engine oil? Thanks in advance for your time and response.
I just bought a $10 spray can of filter cleaner. I can already tell it's not gonna last very long. I heard something about using gas to clean it.
Is there something cheaper I can use, like a household product, to clean it before I oil it up?
you need to use solvent if you are using petroleum oil for the filter. Gas is not recommended, its too aggressive. Use some mineral spirits or kerosene. I like notoil products because they are the easiest to apply and to clean and not that expensive. Also notoil is non-petroleum product.

Thanks man!
And thanks for the vids! I just subscribed and been getting tons of knowledge from your videos. One of the better channels I've seen.
I'm getting moto-vated 😂👍
+Nube Toob Thanks brother and welcome on board!
I know this is a little late, but if your using no toil, oxy clean is the same exact thing as their filter cleaner
Can I just use the 10w-40 I use in my engine ?
i am new to this but can annyone explain, why would you press sand dust inside your filter?
sorry, I dont understand the question
thanks for the video bro
no problem, hope it helps!
yes sir
Do you trail ride or just mx ?
+killerkork thanks bro! I do more trails actually. Probably 70/30 trails/MX. Love both, sometimes want to jump and rail some corners, sometimes want to get fresh air and natural terain of single track. How about you?
Yeah, I'd say I'm about the same, about 70/30 as well. The track can scare me somtimes, but then again so can the trails lol
I watch alot of Vids from CROSS TRAINING ENDURO SKILLS, alot of great content on that channel and I can actually say I have applied much of what I've seen on there to my riding. Do you watch that channel?...if not, you should check it out...I'm sure you would like it.
Oh and by the way, you asked how I liked my 2004 KX250 that I recently picked up. I got a few rides in on it now and I can say, I love it. It's got great power spread, feels pretty nimble with a somewhat grunty bottom end and comeing off a 125 it's like a torque rocket lol I've been hearing the 04 is a really good year and I would have to say, I agree. I'm pretty happy with it :) But a 2017 or possibaly 18 KTM 250 xc is really appealing...sorry for the rant lol
yes, I watch those videos all the time, I kinda like his humor and his riding tutorials are great, I am trying to apply it to my riding as well. He quit the job not long ago and now he does youtube and coaching for living. hmm.. not a bad idea ;)
I bet that KX is great ride, my KTM is 2004 and I love it, torque is just enough, always there when you need it. how do you like it on the trails? I admit, my KTM is not made for trails, I am playing with settings, but the suspension is just not made for it, I am hesitant to send it out and spend $1000 for revalve etc. I will play bit more with what I have and work on my riding instead. Just as Barry form Crosstraining said, its 20% bike and 80% rider.
Yeah Barry seams like a really cool guy and does a awesome job at what he does, he's got a good thing going with the youtube and coaching thing...any time you can do what you love and get payed for it...your doin somthing right ;)
The KX seams pretty good on the trails. I recently had my suspension done and it's now set up for my weight, feeling pretty good but still gotta play with the clickers and since I ride mostly trails I'm gonna trhow on a FMF gnarly pipe to give a little more bottom grunt. I haven't hade a chance to get on a track yet so can't comment on that. But yeah, it's definitely 20% bike and 80% rider but when you have the right bike it can make that 80% a heck of alot easier lol
who's trying to charge you a grand for a suspension job...I just got mine rebuilt and revalved, front and rear for about $550
+killerkork I browsed few websites, like racetech or factory connection, by the time they replace bushings and seals, have new oil, valves springs, etc... It adds up to 700-800 depends on the brand and parts. Who did your suspension?
Is that ketchup?
Hi - thanks for the video -does this process apply to 4 strokes as well.
Yes, the same.
is it ok to use regular engine oil?
+Echo Outdoors no it's not, regular oil will leak/migrate to lower parts of the filter, it should be very sticky oil, use special air filter oil always
You could probably get away with Lucas oil supplement as it is very sticky. Don't use the stuff in the black bottle though, use the white one.
can you make a video of the best
- Air Coolant
- Chain Lobe
- Engine Oil
- Brake Fluid
it would help me out alot since im not getting into motocross.
+JohnnehRL sure I will put it on the list.
ok thanks
Strawberry pie
I'm new to riding, what is the purpose of this?
you need to clean and oil your air filter frequently, otherwise your bike doesnt have enough air and the engine will get damaged by dirt particles that can pass through old/dirty filter. this is basic maintenance you have to do. check out this two videos to learn more:
ua-cam.com/video/P4SsGnhtpkA/v-deo.html
ua-cam.com/video/uDfWPFM28BE/v-deo.html
thank you for the video man , helped me alot , thumbs up !
+paz paz you are welcome my friend!
Hello there, what type of oil did you use?
In this video i used notoil oil
I'm looking for my first bike I don't want to break the bank and I'm 4'8 just wondering if you had any ideas and keep up the good work
Justin, what is your age and weight?
I'm 12 and 95 lbs
klx 110 seems like a good option. It has clutch less 3 speed transmission, you can learn basics on that bike, and later after season or two get maybe crf 150 or ttr 125.. try to check them out, sit on one if you can, its good to have first bike that fits you well, you should be able to touch the ground with both feet and feel that you have it under control,. if it falls down you should be able to pick it up, etc.. good luck Justin
Dirt N Iron thanks
What oil you use for the filter I just use spray
+Zach Turner I use notoil oil, it's biodegradable.. non petroleum
Pretty tedious way to oil the filter
+gcmkt p yea, it's bit boring, I try to perfect my art with the lines and curves to keep it interesting. ;)
can I use any oil or does it need to be air filter specific
it should be air filter oil, not just any oil.
Thank you for the quick answer, keep the great videos coming.
no problem, dont hesitate to ask if you need help.. good luck!
Put atleast 720x60
+Blaž Benčič what do you mean? My videos are all in HD 1080p
Well i can put max 720p on UA-cam, i think your camera films in 1080p but you upload to max 720p to YT
+Blaž Benčič I upload always in 1080p, that's how I extract all videos from my editing software. Are you sure you can't change it on the player inSettings? Maybe the internet speed or bandwidth.. not sure
No, sadly is 720 max to me on this channel
+Blaž Benčič sorry to hear that, hope it will change soon
