"Here's a chap who's permanently high, while his mates sell blubber for cash. It's Bob Marley and the Wailers"
I immediately texted that to a couple of friends to see if they'd guess where it's from 🤣
Who was that?
Glorious line👏👏💯🤣🤣
Its the eye-roll that does it 🤣
Crime writer Mick Herron has a line about someone being as miserable as the ghost of Bob Marley. "Don't you mean Jacob Marley?" "Depends, which one was surrounded by wailers?"
That silence when he opens up... the total control of AP and the spark in his eyes, knowing he's in control, and the subtle sense of wonder and excitement from Key.... This is ... can't even bear this level of subtlety. In online comedy....
How he can STILL after all these years be so brilliantly funny is a testament to Steve Coogan's unequivocal genius. He really is.
No one does poignant pathos like Reece Sheersmith the man's a genius
i love how alan manages to reach this guy, so good
Furgetta bout iiit!
It's like he's ALMOST a decent person... Sometimes... In very small doses 😂
My beloved Reece Shearsmith there
There can't be many occasions when either Steve Coogan or Reece Shearsmith are in a room with someone else who matches their ability (apart from all those times Shearsmith is with Steve Pemberton!)
Love how Alan handled him. "I'll tell you who I wouldn't nominate..." "We could all do that mate: Hitler!" Lmao!!!
Very James O'Brien. :)
@@eightiesboy I think Coogan gets most of his material from JOB
@@james-5560 coogan doesnt write it
@@smoosev89 Actually he does. He co-writes it with the Gibbons. (The brothers, not the animals) although technically they are/is animals…

It’s funny but not a believable sponsor.
there hasn't been this much comedic talent in one room since.... I'll get back to you on that

In a chain smokers voice too 😂😂
@@tmason1987 😂 that makes it even funnier 👏🏻
Can't wait to see Alan Partridge playing Jimmy Saville.
Yes, Coogan has the voice nailed so will be a great performance I reckon.
Not sure why he went method though 🤔
Seeing Coogan and Sheersmith together like this is just brilliant. Ive been a huge fan of both for a few decades now.
"Don't do one of those ..."
Just brilliant !!
Sublime stuff.
Now that's a great way to kick off my day. *Back of the net!*
JURASSIC PARK!
I’m glad he’s with Angela.
Subtle layers of comedy
*Good humour*
Yes it's an extender

loved league of gentlemen, but he's a good actor as well, I'd watch him in anything
League wouldn't be as good if it wasn't for the amazing acting. It's a huge part of its success. And that goes for Inside No9
He was amazing in Catterick too.
Here is a Californian taxi going round in circles on a sliproad roundabout and is asked by his dispatcher where are you going? It`s `Nowhere Man` by the Beatles.
Reece Shearsmith is my favourite from L.O.G.

Alans got good again! This is more like the writing from Armando with all the funny dated references and a bit more of Alan's arrogant side
this is new content, right?
@@ots1634 Yeah I think so
@@ots1634 NO
This is what 10 years old??
@@butterflymoon6368 Oh, that's why I love it then, it comes from a time when Coogan was still playing Alans character properly. The latest incarnation of Alan is irritating and over affected with completely the wrong accent and not even the same personality.
I don't really understand people who think the current Partridge is funny because it's not anything like the original one.
The original Alan written by Armando and co with side parting, nasal voice, and arrogance was much funnier than the silly voice one.
Unbelievable

Is this material new or old MMM?🤔
Old, Im afraid. I think this is S2 of MMM because S1 is owned by Fosters (lol but good on em). There was a new series of This Time with AP in 2021 which was very good but MMM is just sublime comedy.
@@skullsaintdead Thanks for clearing that up.👍🏻 I’ve got a MMM dvd somewhere, but just couldn’t for the life of me remember Reece Shearsmith being in an episode. Although MMM has just so much gold and variety in it, it massively warrants regular repeat viewings, as it’s some of the best Partridge IMO.🙂
@@tetsuoshima7385 I agree entirely. You're most welcome.

why do people think mid morning matters is new???
I don't ever remember Reace Sheersmith being in it originally. Maybe they did a second series?
Is it ironic that we have Reece Shearsmith in a sketch about free speech, when he had to back pedal over The League of Gentlemen, claiming he suddenly realised that it was wrong to use the inappropriate and sinister "blackface" minstrel make up, to help create a showman type character who was intended to be inappropriate and sinister.....?
Luckily Netflix saw through his apology and removed the series from their listings, even though they'd been happy to have it for quite some time, and have since been happy to feature other comedy which is transphobic, homophobic or racist.
They even have films and documentaries containing actual racist Nazis.
That all seems to be ok.
But a fictional sinister circus owner wearing blackface, so highlight his inappropriate, sinister nature?
Oh no no... So very wrong.
Don't melt there petal ❄!! .. how dare comedy not be 100% PC and sensitive to your feelings (+ not allowed be funny )
Please try to separate reality from fiction.
@@bennyblanco936 sorry benny, I was being too sarcastic, and you seemed to believe I was genuinely concerned about the presence of Nazis on Netflix.
Of course, if you're making a film about WWII, then having Nazis in it is a good start.
My point was that Netflix was wrong to remove League of Gentlemen, through fear of it suddenly being offensive to people.
Also I believe that Reece and his gang were wrong to suddenly panic and claim that Papa Lazarou was a big mistake.
Are we back on track now?
@@wretch1 please explain?
Let me check what my points were....
Reece in a sketch - which is fiction-
The sketch is real, but the content and characters in the sketch are all fictional.
OK?
Reece has previously, several years after it's creation, felt compelled to apologise for The League of Gentlemen, largely due to the inclusion of a "black face" character.
This occurred at a time when there was a witch hunt against anything that could be perceived at supporting racism.
Do we both agree that's a fact?
Netflix removed TLOG pretty much for the same reason, to avoid being accused of being racist.
Fact again? I think so...
Netflix has since gone on to host content that could be considered much more offensive to sensitive groups who are quick/keen to view things out of context.
Another fact. Are we all up to date?
I was using sarcasm to mock Netflix.
So, please elaborate as to your point, if I've missed something.
Oh and happy new year, as well.
@@ajmaloleary3553 well your terrible at making a point if you have to keep explaining your dry witticisms and sarcasm.. + I'm good, right back on track
Alan Partridge has been thoroughly ruined beyond repair
What are you on about, High Noon? 🤣
This is peak Partridge, what you on about?
@@georgeohunt2263 the silly partridgeisms were never the best bits, the best bits were the satirical moments when you'd see Alan willing to cut any throat to get ahead and it's totally lost
@@elvishpresley185 fair enough mate, to each their own. I personally love the subtlety of a lot of the humour in MMM, but I get that everyone's got their own preference
