Not much for me, a locked and smooth 60FPS is good enough for me, but I do understand how higher refresh rates make a difference in responsive gameplay, specially in heavy action and competitive titles. Not all games feel right in very high refresh rates, though, just like many movies feel weird past the usual 24. It depends.
thank you - very informative - ordered Mega 1 yesterday directly from Blackview (gray color is sold out) - looking forward to check it out - value for money is excellent. Didn't know it has no headphone jack. Would be perfect with GPS support for car navigation on a 11.5" screen
Did you try the Oscal elite 1? (I think it is also from blackview) It has a 12.1 inch screen and support stylus pen (as they advertise) and i think it has an aluminium frame
Blackview Mega 1 with a 50MP camera? That's unexpected! Helio G99 should be able to process photos quickly too. Interesting option for mobile photographers. I think the mediatek chipset is an impressive one!!
Nice vid! Planning to buy one. May I ask what controller did you use in the video? Do you think Ipega will also works fine? How do you also enable the additional RAM EXPANSION as claimed? Many thanks...
You're better off getting it on AliExpress using the link in the description. It comes directly from the seller including warranty and returns. The Android 13 is a very old tablet, definitely don't get it on Amazon!
Not clear Mega 1 has 60 Hz refresh rate as an option, whether as a durect setting or in battery saver mode. According to GSM Arena, Mega 1 does not have compass feature, which is important to me, whereas Tab 18 does have compass, according to same source. Blackview could attract a larger clientele if it would provide for 2 OS upgrades. If the margin of profit is really that tight, possibly make it pay-per-upgrade, provided the upgrade is reliable. For me, Harmon Kardon audio makes the decision between Mega 1 and Tab 18. AFAIK, all or most budget tablets and brand-name economy models (eg, Lenovo Tab P12, Galaxy Tab A9+) have USB2.0 at the charging port, which limits interaction with other devices because of reduced data throughput.
I wonder how well the Mega 1 would do Xbox Remote Play. I think the xbox does the work and it just streams to the device. Do you think it would be able to handle that without big issues.
Thanks for the review. I’ve ordered one for mainly moonlight streaming. I noticed that decode latency with the g99 processors decode is sitting around 20ms which seems standard for this. Something to do with the newer decoder not having low latency mode. Hopefully it gets sorted with a update or something. Out of curiosity, did you notice much Input lag/delay whilst playing sonic ? If possible. If you happen to use moonlight again, could you test it with performance mode on and see what the decode latency is ? I’ve heard it makes a difference ! Thanks :)
@@RetroBreezeYT is the expansion RAM really works? How? It was mentioned you can have additional 12 GB RAM. Many thanks for this nice informative video!
Can you not just use a micro c to 3.5mm audio adapter (many people use one for my mobile phones without a physical audio input)? Also Can you not attach a bluetooth keyboard to the Mega 1?

How important is a high refresh rate or high FPS to you?
For MOBA, very important

For pubg mobile it is more than important
Very
Perfect review about all my concerns (emu + moonlight) !! Thanks a lot!
By far the best review on UA-cam so far.

Can you update me your information about the received mega 1 and also tell me about the website from where you got the tablet.

Oscal Elite 1 does look better for me good looking out

Yeah it's pretty good, and the huge viewfinder is awesome too. G99 is a great chip!
@@RetroBreezeYT Hello! They say Helio G99 easily overheats. Is this true in this tablet?
With that 12GB of RAM and Helio G99 processor, you can multitask with ease, switching between apps and browsing the web without any lag.

Which is better, Mega 1 or Tab 18?
I wonder how the Blackview Mega 1 stacks up against other budget tablets like the Samsung Galaxy Tab A series
What about software or security updates ?
no updates for you :)
Guys I can’t find it on Amazon is it the black view android 13

How do frames appear on the tablet like this?
Hi, what pubg graphics settings in the review?
Nice review, any idea how it would perform with Diablo Immortal?
I wonder how well the Mega 1 would do Xbox Remote Play. I think the xbox does the work and it just streams to the device. Do you think it would be able to handle that without big issues.
Did the pass through charging work still with the Gamesir G8?
Does the kayboard for the tab 18 match the mega 1 and if so can you let a link for the purchase ?
It does not unfortunately, because they're different sizes.
How did you split the screen? I cant see the option in my recent apps, how can I enable it?
Open the app switcher, then tap the three dots next to the app you want to split. The two squares icon will start the splitter.
does it play 4k videos on youtube?
It's not a 4K screen, but it's more than powerful enough to play 4K.
Where can I buy one? Amazon?
Walmart
Ali express

Unless you already had performance mode on :)
How many fps on warzone mobile ?
You had me at 120 HZ. Thanks kid. That's a buy.
Your wishlist link is broken. Also was looking for a link for the hdmi transceiver thing :)
Can this be used as an external gaming monitor?
If you do it wirelessly, using a virtual l monitor, yes. But not using a cable or anything like that.
Reason Tab 18 feels so much larger bigger is its 16:9
That make sense. Still love my Tab 18 and use it every day!
Missed the intro price on Tab 18. Still waiting for a good sale price on it.
AliExpress sale starts tomorrow! Keep an eye out for coupons especially. Still love my Tab 18!
Any thoughts on this vs the Galaxy Tab A9+ at $220 right now? Snapdragon 695 Octa-Core CPU
Mega 1 helio G99 CPU counterpart with snapdragon is 732G so do the math.
Can you work on developing websites on this tablet?
Sounds like a tricky choice between the two tablets! 🤔
Anyone know if zwift works on it ????
Gyro pugb?
Yes!
Why do phone and tablet manufacturers bother with making 12GB ram models? WHy not just make it 16GB? Is 12GB any noticeable difference from 8GB ram?
I'm guessing the 12GB chips are cheaper than 16GB for the manufacturer. Personally I think 12 is a good middle ground especially for a budget tablet.
@@RetroBreezeYTIs the 12gb worth the extra money over the 8gb version? Thanks

Hihi. Wow 120Hz. I'm want ask if you have tried black frame insertion to work on it for emulation? Veri thanx in advance! XDDD
Too bad it doesn't come with a case+keyboard combo like the blackview 18. Tempted to get it anyway because of the frame.
I'm assuming a keyboard case will eventually come out!
Best buy
all you need is 120 hz tablet with strong ethernet connection to connect to your gaming pc
Dont forget that the helios g99 has terrible performance with moonlight for a very bad decoding time
That's news to me, I have no problems with it. Maybe I'm just not very sensitive to latency!
@@RetroBreezeYT it s a common problem between noonlight and the g99. Parsec is fine (under 6ms)
Kinda jealous. I got the Tab 18 at the launch price so I did make out well
For sure! Love the Tab 18!
Samsung tuned speakers wow
No dolby atmos is a deal-breaker too bad nice tablet
Definitely check out the Tab 18!
Too low PPI, horrible images
Xiaomi pad 6 max joined the game
I think that's a little too big for me 😅
144hz xiaomi pad 6...
Not exactly budget friendly
The 11 inch galaxy tab s9 is $700 lol this is really budget friendly for a 120hz tablet
Gigantic?! WTF are you on about?!
It is ok,but xiaomi is much batter choice.
WHy do people still complain about no headphone port in 2024??? It's not 1999 anymore.
It's a feature I like and I prefer wired headphones to wireless.
Because people prefer it, just like you prefer pickles on your sandwich

Also
Can you not attach a bluetooth keyboard to the Mega 1?
@@karlinguk Of course that would work, but I prefer a 3.5mm port. Yes, Bluetooth accessories will work just fine!
I find devices that use Bluetooth don't work well with speakers as there is a delay which makes playing guitar tabs app hard as it's out of sync
NO WiFi 6 in 2024 !
my internet on cable cant even pull a "Wifi 6" speed
