Thanks for sharing Tessie. I have tried a few of her scents and actually really liked some. I need to check that site out again when I am ready to purchase again (in 2026...😂😂😂) 😍
This was great! Thank you. Took lots of notes (while at the same time mildly cursing to myself that I do NOT need any more FO's also while starring the ones I'll be buying to try. )😊😅
@@essentialsnorthwestllc878 Same! I have WAY more than I can possibly use, but unfortunately the majority are from the same company bc I never knew which companies to try before this! Now I’ve got a whole new list lol
I learned my lesson on this subject. Resellers of fragrances close their business down and then makers are scrambling to find another reseller. A couple of years ago, the owner of a fragrance company passed away. So heartbreaking for their family; I felt so bad for the wife who tried to get it back up and going. Unfortunately, the business closed for good. Many makers also loved another companies fragrances and that business closed down last year. Over the last 8 years, many companies have been bought out by a well known company mentioned on the comments. Some of the original fragrances are still available, but many are not.
yep, WSP is notorious for buying other companies. so far my fav rustic essentials fragrances are still available to me there but I believe the cost is higher. It's so hard to loose a favorite fragrance. I remember when I first started making soap, bramble berry had one called Peppercorn (I think) it was amazing, but they discontinued it 😦
@@juliebissat3036 I agree! I’ve bought SO many fragrances that I didn’t end up liking, and there are so many options so this was a big help! I’ve never bought from Candle Science or Flaming Candle. Now I have some ideas of what to try next 😀
Hi Tammy! You got me at the end of the video … I was going to recommend Black Tie Barn. In the Fall you have to try Sassy Pumpkin and Cranberry Fire!! I buy most of my candle fragrances from Candle Science. My personal fav of theirs is Christmas Hearth. I call my candle Fireside Cuddles. I absolutely love a woodsy campfire or fireplace scent and boy does this one deliver. I burn it at home year round. I don’t think it’s a dupe but I think it smells like the Bath and Body candle called Winter. I also love their Honeysuckle Jasmine. For Valentines Day I bought Love Spell from Candle Science but I added Musk to it and it’s amazinggg!!! I’m planning to make the candle available tomorrow and I’m calling it Love Potion. LOL it’s fun playing around with scents. Thanks for sharing your favs!!! ❤Tina
Hi Tina! I absolutely love Christmas Hearth (call my winter's hearth) I really like Cranberry Fire from BTB and Sassy Pumpkin was an ok one for me, but I struggled wicking it. I haven't given up on it though I think it is a brilliant idea to add musk to love spell! Well done! 💗
I like Dragon's Blood (and so do my customers) from Midwest Fragrance Co. Cool Citrus Basil, Sandalwood & Patchouli, from WSP are top sellers for me and I recently had a customer request a custom soap using Frankencense and Myrrh (she wanted essential oils, so I priced those and they were outrageously expensive) so she settled on the Frankencense and Myrrh from WSP and WOW is it nice. Pricey, yes, but really nice scent. Brambleberry favorites are Lavender 40/42, Lilac, Oatmeal, Milk and Honey.
I have just recently started liking Dragon's Blood, I'm looking forward to trying it in soap soon. I will add your WSP scents to my wish list so I remember to maybe check those out - thanks! that Frank and Myrrh is soooo expensive from WSP - I've only tried a couple others from other companies and there really is no comparison - dang it! 😂
Hi Nora! I have had the one, I think a 2 oz bottle but I did not like it at all that I remember. I think I felt it was perfumey. but I also remember thinking maybe at a very very low % I would not mind it. 🤔
@WalnutCreekBathBoutique I absolutely understand that! I was just as hesitant. It really mellowed out in soap, and I can't get enough. Give it a shot if you still have it. 😊
Thanks so much for this! I've just been starting making my own bath/body products over the last year and I needed some better direction for fragrances.
you are very welcome! I had Sunwashed from CS and I think I remember liking it pretty well. but I used it in a blend and now can't remember what it smells like LOL
Oatmeal stout in my bubbly beer bar does very well. I get it from Brambleberry and it does very well. My best candle is a Christmas cookie blend I get from Natures Garden and Natures Handmade.
I have made beer soaps but have never used a beer scent. I think I've been scared of them LOL - maybe I will give it a try next time. Thanks for the recommendation!💕
Hi Shelly - I had to go check out that fo - and I had no idea they changed their name!! I was like Nurture Handmade?? Huh??? LOL I may try that one, it sounds wonderful! Thanks for the recommendation 💕
In addition to the flaming candle, their Vanilla Bean Noel is my best seller! I also like Midwest Fragrance with their Pineapple Sage. Another best seller ❤
Can you tell I'm catching up on videos? Great video, and you are spot on buying from multiple companies. Although, I just did a video testing 25 of Black Tie Barn's (a favorite) scents in cold process (under my wrenandrita account). My new fave is Hive & Honey. Such a great company and great customer service as well. I went way overboard on fragrance oils last year so this upcoming year will be about using what I have!
Hive and Honey is one I have considered buying from. I have heard nothing but good things from them! I will try to get to your testing video - what an awesome idea! 💕
I don't make soap, only candles. I have a coconut candle line and I use the more complex scents from scent memory, makesy and former 1617. Soy candle line is all from candle science clean scents. The clean label really does it for me plus they are super popular. I like realistic smelling scents midwest honey spiced is too artificial for me. But i like there iced vanilla, palo santo, fruit loops. Their fruit loop is my highest selling.
There’s quite a few FOs that Nature’s Garden that I love and sell well for me. Their notes are usually pretty accurate. I love a handful from Brambleberry. The citrus scents from Candle Science are fantastic. The best men’s cologne dupe FOs come from Bulk Apothecary though. Unfortunately, their shipping rates are insanely high. I’ve been getting quite a few FOs from Indigo Fragrance Company recently and I love their novelty FOs. They take suggestions too. I might have to check into Micas and More. I’ve gotten a few FOs from With Nature with Love. They are nice, but a bit pricey. They’re lighter fragrances. Good for hand soaps, deodorants, shampoo and conditioners. Could be good for room and linen spray. Not very many soap notes or reviews.
i was thinking about taking all my sample and smaller sized FO's and making a one off soap of them all just to use them and not throw them away. these are scents i dont really like and wont purchase again but i have SO MANY OF THOSE. i like on average 1 out of every 10 i buy. maybe 2 and if im lucky there will be 3. lol. WSSP is over priced and CS isnt so great. they had charged me $65 for a 1lb bad of btms50, when i brought it to their attention they said it wasnt an error. so i returned it and bought it much cheaper elsewhere. i recently chk'd their price and oh look, they corrected it and now its back to the correct and affordable price. bulk apothecary has good prices especially on castor oil. however their CS isnt too good either.
yeah, WSP cust service wasn't great for the whole IFRA update a few years ago, but it was good for when I bought a lot of natural fragrance oils and the all reeked horribly - they did take them back and I was happy with that. I'm glad they let you return your btms! I don't often shop at bulk apothecary, maybe once every 2-3 years.
Yall know me flaming candle is where most of mine come from. I do buy from others , the one company I am trying is viva. Will let you know what I think.
I recently discovered Cierra candle Co. they have some great JO MALONE dupes for men's line. Prices and shipping are great. My new favorite scent at the moment though is Lavender Flowers from NATURES GARDEN ❤
