- Euro NCAP performs a series of crash and safety tests on car models:
a frontal impact test, 50% of the width of the car is striking an oncoming deformable barrier, also travelling at 50 km/h
a frontal impact test, the car impacts a rigid full width barrier
a side impact test, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door
a pole test, the tested car is propelled sideways into a rigid pole.
A series of pedestrian tests are conducted with different impactors, adult and child head form, lower and upper leg form and whiplash tests are performed on a sled as well as AEB pedestrian and cyclist tests.
Active safety is tested based on the car’s equipment: autonomous emergency braking car-to-car scenarios, occupant status monitoring (including seatbelt reminders), lane support and speed assistance technologies.

@Euro NCAP .... any idea when you guys would crash test i20?
I really enjoyed reviewing this car, please check it out! The safety isn’t as high as rivals such as the Volkswagen t-cross or Ford puma, but it is still a safe car.
I noticed in the Front Mobile Progressive Deformable Barrier frontal crash test, the side curtain airbag does not have much forward coverage at all.
I think its only used so if you have your window up or down your head wont hit the window or break your neck if the window was open cuz the passenger would have an front airbag too
They’ve done the Bayon but not the new i20 yet.
I think the i20 will have the same rating, both of them are based on the same platform.
You think it will be different?

They have done the i20 it got a 4 star rating much the same as the Bayon :)
@@Carcode I don’t remember them doing the latest generation i20.
They did do the previous generation i20, and that got four stars, although the regulations weren’t as strict as today’s ones.

I think its great for long driving or at some car trip. But for me when i drive small distances i turn it off everytime before driving . I bought bayon just recently but i love it so much i am happy just now Bayon and Kona had some better prices now so it's great. For sure worth of its money
Did hyundai forgot to send the i20 2021?
The rear end structure isn't tested??
Whiplash is tested though, the NHTSA does rear though, known as FMVSS301, it is used to test fuel leaks after a rear end collision, but there is no instrumentation in the dummies used
can you guys show some footage of the far side incursion test?
The Bayon is basically a taller and more expensive i20.

@@howardruk1 this is what euro ncap had answered me when i asked them , 2 months ago they told me they plan to test the car but results will not be published before winter

Why the airbags are so smoky
I think it is because an airbag deploys using a controlled explosion. It's the only way the airbags can inflate quickly enough to be effective.
@@vincentwendt720 well yes, that’s the basic principle, but I’m referring to these particularly, which are evidently more smoky that the others.
