yes it is. do not worry about it. i am training olympic weightlifting and there are guys there that train many many years cjerking 170+ and they all have knees that pop and they have no issues.

I don't think it depends on that you can be an aesthetic powerlifter and an unaesthetic olimpic weightlifter too it really depends on your training style

But for pure training in either power or weight lifting, Olympic style weight lifting will help you be more athletic do to the explosiveness of the exercises.
