    I own the G3X. I purchased the same polishing kit and the same buffing wheels that you did from Amazon. One thing that I wanted to add to this, is that the barrel is actually made out of stainless steel, and the chart that comes with the polish says to use either white or blue, for the final buff, obviously, the red works for you, but I’m just going by what the chart says. Hope everyone is having a great day. #GirlPower!

      @@Uhhhyeaaa so my G3c actually fixed itself after firing a couple hundred rounds through it. My jam rate wasn't as bad as yours but I just didn't oil it and let the fmjs sort of polish the feed ramp on their own.
      Runs like a charm now

    So much improvement can be had with just a little polishing. Anything hinged where metal rubs on metal, hammers, triggers, bueno.

    I usually hit it with a fresh clean buffing wheel after the final polish, and you'll get the real shine come through.

    Good idea. If everyone knew a bit more about metallurgy then videos like this would be appreciated more. For example, when someone says to avoid Taurus in favor of brand x, what we should consider are: the design, the materials, the machining and the finishing processes. Today's guns are all made using CNC machines so the tolerances should all be better than decades ago, run after run. No reputable gun manufacturer is going to use pig iron when stainless steel is called for if they intend to be in business for more than a minute, and then use the right stainless alloy for the job. That leaves finishing which if you think about it is where the most human intensive stage is. I'm sure Kimber spends more time on finishing than Taurus and therefore can demand higher prices for their guns. What we're seeing here is one small way to "Kimberize" the feed ramp of this gun. If someone spent the time needed to further the finish throughout the mechanical, metal on metal surfaces of their guns, you could come closer to narrow the gap between Taurus and Kimber quality. In essence, we pay Kimber to do all the finishing whereas Taurus owners might opt to do the finishing themselves. A Taurus revolver engineered and manufactured today will meet or exceed what S&W made 60 years ago. Take ego out of the equation and you start to understand how China has successfully landed more probes on the moon than the US. Given enough time and appkied technology, even car manufacturers can run a space program. Oh wait, that's already been done.

      The Lakeline SS spring rod changes ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, just adds weight to an already beefy compact. Show me a SINGLE case of a broken spring rod. I personally know of NONE. Same with the plastic striker sleeve and spring retainers.....just polish the feed ramp. No need to spend $150 on parts that do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to improve the firearm. DO THE WORK....then enjoy the improved reliability you seek

    • @DefenseTrainingSC
      @DefenseTrainingSC  Рік тому +4

      @@IronChefBklyn for those not wanting to polish the feed ramp the lakeline barrel works great. Also the spring and guide rode is a little stronger so it does add a little more forward pull to help with the loading of the cartridge. And I’m sorry but the striker sleeve does smooth the trigger pull out even over a polished plastic one, I’ve done both and there’s a noticeable difference.

    I always use white jewelers rouge Because it doesn't need all of the courser grits just to Polish a feed ramp. I also include polishing the loading chamber. Because manufacturers don't always polish them and brass bullets can get caught in the loading chamber in a lot Failures to feed its a rough loading chamber and not the feed ramp thanks for the video

    • @youaregodspursuit

      @@DefenseTrainingSC Yes... it is not an issue with hand operating the slide... this is a problem during shooting. 1,2, 3 rounds it hangs up with hollow point partially inserted into barrel. And often it is almost impossible to remove. It is not a hand operation issue! And not just the barrel feed ramp but for some the feed ramp integral with the frame needs a polish too.
