GoPro built into the drone? No wonder it's so expensive. This is definitely not a toy.
A GoPro is not included with the purchase of the ZMO.

Another amazing flight of OMPHOBBY FPV ZMO VTOL!
It is just very nice to see this beautiful VTOL fly!
Its speed is obviously impressive too with almost 120 kph+!
Specaially, I like its fuselage's and wing's grey and green colour match which makes it look like it is a superb premium RC beast!
I am not getting anything else to write as I already evaluated it in my comments in the previous videos of ZMO!

Ahhh editing my comment. It COMES with the DJI stuff. This makes the huge price tag slightly more justified! $2500 in Aus 🫤 what flight time are you getting. It’s insane what DJI are getting out of a drone with no wings!!!

I'm in Gatineau for work right now, i was hoping to fly my drone but it's windy and it started to rain..so yeah..not a great week to fly
pretty neat, in some eastern europe place, some guy does crazy flights with his zmo (also good to watch if you like snow and cold looking places). Captain drone could you do this sort of exploratory flight with that 360 drone you reviewed not long ago?
As cool as it is, the price would need to be half that for me to consider it.

I really want to get into drones/planes whatever you'd like to call this, I just wish the front camera had a little adjustment. I'm an ignoramus and have no idea what would be required to make that work, but it's still something I'd like.
We all began in the hobby at level zero. The knowledge comes to you as you keep doing your research. Just jump in at some point with a $300 or less entry level drone and you'll gain even more knowledge.

Can you tell me if my DJI FPV controller and glasses would work with this aircraft? I thought about buying just the aircraft
Hi...great footage. I also have the zmo vtol and I'm getting terrible range. Max range probably 500 meters. I see 8 channels and 700 mW is selected. What I don't see is "unlocked" when I arm the airplane as you would expect with dji air units. So I'm not sure if my power is being limited to 25 mW? I haven't tried turning off auto temp control yet. Do you see "unlocked" lower right in the goggles when you arm and take off? Thanks in advance! Great channel!
to be honest I have never noticed, nor have I had range issues. Keep in mind they goofed when they made this by sticking the antennas on top and having them short. Longer antennas and on the bottom or out the sides would give much more range.
This ZMO would pretty-much put the "skids" on portions of the R/C hobby.
Hey steve, after watching your review, I think I might myself buy one of these but there are many options on their website, which one do I need to select to get everything I need to start flying it?
I have not looked at their website in the past year. You need the ZMO with a radio (called a transmitter or controller). If you want a camera in it then you have an option of having a display in the controller or like me, I just had a basic DJI radio (no display) and a set of DJI FPV Goggles.

I have never tried carrying anything. Keep in mind that when it flies like a plane it has to be balanced as all planes do, so carrying something external is tricky.

I wonder if this would be faster then a quad style? More fuel efficient?
In the long run it would be faster (continuous speed).
How does this design control yaw? Front motor tilt? Both of them? That's possible in ardupilot?
Both motors tilt opposite

Will the Insta360 One RS fit in the nose of this VTOL too? And how well can the ZMO handle light drizzle/foggy conditions?
It would probably fit (have not tried it), but obviously you can't use the 360 lens.
I have a chance to buy one of these without goggles and remote. Will the DJI and V1 goggle combo work as replacements for this VTOL?
It is designed so that you can put in any camera system you wish. It comes with the DJI Air Unit and DJI FPV Black remote and is connected to the receiver in the DJI Air Unit (all are version 1)
A great product! But are you saying the RTH is unreliable?
If you are a newbie drone pilot then you are expecting it to RTH like a drone where the drone comes back within 10 feet of where it took off. The ZMO does not do that because it is a plane (I.e., it does not continue to fly and then locate your position and land directly on top of you). It just returns to your "general" area.
Nice V-tol I had been waiting to see who was going to release a model for purchase first and I see the do fly very differently. Do you know of any others out there🤔

Hi Captain. Thank you for interesting video. Base on your experience, what is better SWAN or ZMO?
SWAN is a drone that pulls itself through the air and has a display on a controller because it uses an APP. If you shut off the motors in flight, it will drop like a rock.
ZMO is a Plane that actually flies, but has no App or display on the controller. If you shut off the motors in flight, it will fly to the ground like a plane.... and has a 50% chance of landing/crashing.

No visual observer required in Canada? 901.38 (Canadian Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems) states you must have a visual observer when using FPV goggles. Right?
Affirmative. And now the hundred dollar question for you… Do you know why a visual observer is required? Most people get it wrong.

Well you are flying it in Canada. Full drone licensing required? Thinking about getting this when I go down east to NL. Looks like lots of fun.
In Canada we do not have a drone license, but rather the pilot has to be knowlegable and pass an online test to be certified to fly any object in the sky that is 250 grams or over.
Question; Is the Swan-K1 VTOL a little easier (more stable) to fly than the ZMO?
The ZMO is a plane and the SWAN is a drone so the ZMO flies easy like a plane. The SWAN is more of a drone on its side pulling itself through the air.
I decided I’m going to buy 2 of these and fly one to area 52 it’s got the range I just want to see if they shoot it down 🤣🤣
This is an awesome looking drone /plane. do you need a license to use in canada or can you fly it for fun?
In Canada if you fly anything by remote control that weighs 250 grams or more, you need an RPAS certificate. It costs $10 to write a test online and get your certificate.
Great video, Steve. Question: Can this fly with the DJI FPV remote controller v2? I’m unclear about this after visiting the website. The reason I am asking is because I already have the DJI FPV goggles v2 and remote v2.
The DJI FPV Remote is not an RC Hobby remote so nope, it can't be used.
@@yeoj_ You have to keep in mind that DJI makes products for beginners, so the DJI FPV kit is for beginners (you buy it, charge up the batteries and go fly with no knowledge or experience). Because of this they have to leave out all the advanced technology that is in the RC Hobby. This means the little DJI grey FPV remote has no technology in it to work with all the FPV drones on the market. DJI only makes one remote that is in the RC Hobby and that is the BLACK DJI FPV REMOTE that you saw me use in this video.

whats the radio range? I know its not 25 miles.
So you have two items to consider. Radio is for the control of the aircraft and the video signal is for viewing. The video signal will cut out long before the radio range because the antennas are located on top of the plane vice the bottom.

It depends on the antennas. Are you good at science? Then you'll figure out how to increase range quickly.

@@FJ-gp3we go on UA-cam and watch any FPV drone using the DJI Air unit and DJI goggles and watch what is done with the antennas to increase range

It's nice of you not to say the RTH basically does not work on this drone/plane
It works but it is not like a CAMERA DRONE where it comes back to where it took off. If you hit RTH when the drone is near you, it then has to slow down and switch into drone mode and come down somewhere within your vicinity. It is supposed to fly back to you if it is far away from you and goes out of range.... However, I have never tried it so can't confirm.
I guess it does go back to drone mode and makes for an easy recovery... So it's a win in my book 👍

What is the FAA's rule against drones in the USA? Can you fly an FPV drone legally at a park?
I'm Canadian.... so you'll have to check your FAA website.

* Varies by state. For example in PA you can't take off in state parks, or wildlife areas. But your average city park is fine. Just give people space.

Price of $899 is too high (w/o DJI gear). Would buy it at $499 or maybe even $599.
