I found that one way to become a better storyteller for webcomics is actually to look to other mediums such as televisions, movies, etc for inspiration. For example, There's a lot of tv scripts available in PDF format that is free on the internet and can you help you develop a sense of voice, structure, etc or photography for rules of composition and how to frame your panels.
Oh, where can we find such files, they'd be really helpful even to amateur artists like me
Interesting can you provide a link
ngl as a reader I feel like Webtoon stories has become quite saturated that everyone is making the same plot over and over again. It’s kinda hard to find stories that is fresh and new to read
Then read :
There are no demons
Nevermore
Atnoman
Trust me you won't regret reading them , they are so unique and underrated ^_^

I bet that 14 year old girl corporate story would make an amazing comedy lol. 🤣
She is also crushing on her football team.
🤣🤣🤣
Oh!!
This is really a nice watch :)
I am currently publishing my very first webtoon 'Us, over here' on Canvas!
It is a short 10 episode story, I really wanted to do the best I could while realistically being able to finish it!
Working on a short story first was definitely the best call for me, I felt like I improved a lot when it comes to storyboarding and overall production efficiency!
OMG I SEE HOOKY BOOKS IN THE BACKGROUNDDDD AHHH MY FAV
I was watching this while designing the second character who is the protag’s (still needs a name) best friend/love interest and if anyone is interested heres generally what my story will be about so please no one steal
Ok so basically its people who are training to be reapers who will go collect human souls in the border realm, but in order to learn they have to go to school. The protagonist is a perfectionist and works on multiple things and trying to get perfect grades and succeed well in extracurricular activities. He then meets the character im designing now through a school project and they grow closer together while trying to pass and become actual reapers
Oh my god I needed this video as I wanna start my webtoon… time to make a tea and watch!!! I find your webtoon videos so great thank you ❤
Congrats on hitting 7K subscribers! Love the webtoon videos!
Great advise as always. I really struggled with if I should tell my fantasy adventure on Webtoon. There's almost zero romance, a cute animal protagonist and barely any humans, which I quickly realised wasn't a thing in Webcomics let alone webtoon. I am slowly growing an audience now but it's not easy to be noticed. Is it worth swapping categories occassionally? There are probably 4 genes it could fall into I just don't know which ones would be best to be found. Thanks
Thank you for the heads up! I was actually looking for some tips the visuals like some sfx that helps to bring the viewer attentions.
Thank you so much for this video because I have been wanting to start a web toon for a while now.❤
love the reality check, thank you
When swang said positive outcomes after showing omniscient readers viewpoint I burst out laughing because anyone whose read it will know that's not the case.😂
literally all the worst outcomes possible happened 😭
That's so true... but i feel like sometimes we should break the chain and make something unique... just because majority audience love certain genre and story.. the minority audience isn’t able to find a good webtoon and kose interest easily. That's just my personal opinion.
Iam starting a webtoon in about some time. It has more than 2 genres out there tbh. shall i start with action/fantasy or action/horror thriller? what do you think?
Great video IMO #7 should be #1 if it isn't your stories won't have any "heart".
Do I have any hope of having at least a somewhat successful Webtoon if I’m not including any romance in it?
Please Produce me! My webtoon Eng is waiting!
Hello! I'm making a webcomic blog to help people learn how the game works from a Showrunner and Producer standpoint. I could I quote you in it? What you said about the genres is very important and I would like to directly quote a professional
Hey! I would love to read your blog, how do I find it?
i think some of the info in this video is a bit too generalized. using something that works can be helpful if your only goal is to get people to read the comic, but a story that is too derivative of other popular works can be seen as boring if it's just the same thing they already see online. i think there's some balance that needs to be met when following these guidelines
Hey, I’m trying to find a way to publish my own comic on canvas but I can’t figure out how to publish using iPad. Can anybody please help😭😭IVE BEEN STUCK FOR TOO LONG.
I think u can publish using a laptop or pc
You can only publish using desktop
I was starting to be very worried about this video. Thanks for the ending disclaimer and reflection on why do people want to make a webtoon. It is too short for my liking but I appreciate its existence and it does not make it all look like a like-and-sub-grab hot tips video.
This video is a little bit dangerous because there's a lot of young, impressionable people wanting to make a hit with webtoons, just like Lore Olympus and Omniscient Reader did (and are doing right now). I will start by saying that you should not make a comic because you want money or fame, you should start it because you want to do it, because you're your biggest fan and because you want to share your story with the world. There is of course a chance you will make it big with the story you love, but that will take time, effort, consistency and passion. This is very important.
This video indeed shows which webtoons are popular and why, and of course, if you want to gain fame you should repeat the formula of the most successful comics: Romance or action, with established tropes, and it's even better if the content is not originally yours, but a retelling of something that already exists. That's... not really what I expected when coming here. I expected tips that talked about page distribution, readibility, consistency, how to advertise yourself or how to find a community. Of course this video is still valid and speaks truths, but this might not be what all new creators really need to start the comic of their dreams.
The tips here detract from "the story I want to make" and push in favor of "the story I should be making", and I want to stress that if you do want to make a webcomic, please for the love of all, do NOT do "the story you should be making". If you do not love your work we'll have another carbon copy of what's already there, but it'll be done by one person instead of a team of at least 5 people like all those super polished korean comics do. And worst of all, if you do not love your story, you'll be miserable making it and you might even drop it down the line. We don't want that.
This video also says something very important: Finding a niche. That is actually an excellent tip, do not chase the money and likes, stick to what you love, find a niche and if you're consistent and passionate enough that will grow into your own little community. It is one of the best joys of making content, you just have to be patient for it.
Tldr I guess, I expected other tips from this video, but it can be useful to see if the comic you WANT to make checks the boxes of the "popular formula" or not. The information provided in this video is good and actually correct by analyzing what's popular and telling you to replicate it, but I highly encourage that you do this job out of love. Sorry for the rant, peace out, take care.
