- How to make an edge-lit LED sign on the X-Carve CNC from Inventables. You can use this technique for any edge-lit sign, of course. Make sure to adjust the files based on the exact size of the wood and acrylic you are using.
See www.inventables... for more information about the X-Carve CNC machine. Inventables has supplied this machine to me at no cost in exchange for a few video project tutorials like this one.
Thank You HP for Making a Brilliant Come back!
that's really nice, great idea with the led to plexy too! So many things to do with that concept!
+McGinn's WoodShop Yeah, I'm already working on a couple other ideas with this. The more I make with this thing, the longer my list gets!
I hear you there, so many options!
Nice job
odd question... the section that is carved out, is there a way to polish this inside? would taking a torch to it fast polish it?
+Andrew Storlie It might polish it, yes, but I don't think the edge LEDs would work like they do anymore. It needs that etching to reflect the light, I think. A torch is how professional acrylic cutters would polish the edge of a cut sheet, I know that.
+SJWoodworks yea i know the light needs that surface for light refraction. reason i ask, i actually just bought an x carve yesturday and im currently designing a new set of speakers entirely out of 1/2" cast acrylic. i need to basicly thin out a sheet for the custom crossover and i dont want it ti be milky looking
Where can I get the plans to make this base using easel ?
I do have an account

I have a write up of the project here. If you search the forums at inventables , I think several others have come up with other ways, too.
Hello! Thank you for the video. Could you please send a wooden stand?
bonjour as tu le fichier merci
Cool.
Neat idea, may have to try that.
Check out my LED Wood Flashlight.
We have the same push sticks. I guess it's time lol
+Xyienced Hah, if it's in reach of the table saw, it suddenly becomes a push stick!
