I am from UK, l love this band it's pure smoke a joint, get stoned music,Shaun Ryder the singer is the most down to earth bloke ever,he's just a normal guy,not stuck up,just down to earth
Bloody love this song. Mondays are still one of my favourite groups. Thanks for the reaction, Rob. I still remember being at Wembley Stadium 2000 and The Mondays were supporting Oasis and Liam came out dancing round the stage while the Mondays were doing their set haahaha
remember seeing them supporting new order at manchester gmex when "bummed" album came out. The whole sound of that early stuff was like nothing id heard before.
I liked that you spotted that Shaun has stole the lyrics from Die Hard. Would have loved for you to have commented on the first two lines to see if you understood them.
The Mondays & Roses were great examples of bands progressing to making dance music with drums & guitars. They had the poetry of The Smiths with the technical intricacy of dance music. They knew exactly what they were doing. Then along come The Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk, etc all part of the evolution. Check out some early Chemical Brothers, from 'Exit Planet Dust' album, I think you'd appreciate it.
Happy Mondays is different and its much better if you are in tune if you know what I mean. Also Shaun Ryder is one of the greatest poets of the 20th century, that sounds ridiculous but I'm serious.
That’s the Madchester sound takes me back! Big baggy jeans, bucket hats! As a young teen from near Manchester the vibe was massive like Seattle and Grunge!!!
Classic Madchester song and band! The 'Yippee Yi' was inspired by Lady Marmalade's 'Coochie Coochie yaya dada.' Other songs from the Madchester era I would recommend are: 'Hallelujah' by Happy Mondays and 'Fool's Gold' by Stone Roses. And Britpop: 'Live Forever' and 'Don't Look Back In Anger' by Oasis, 'Animal Nitrate' by Suede.
Yeah I stopped listening when you lumped the Mondays with britpop bands. Britpop bands rode the wave left behind by bands like this in the late 80s and early 90s.. On both sides of the Atlantic no less. Sounds like you've missed an important era in the progression of rock/indie music... Especially mid 80s British music

This reaction is now up on the Happy Mondays' Twitter site.
people often thought the Mondays were a joke but they were simply amazing!
Thank you for understanding and getting it! So underrated! Cheers
Theyre a great sounding band
Happy Mondays are one of my favourite bands. Just pure laid-back groove and rhythm, what's not to like.
Spot on

Wicked reaction. Respect from UK
You are on the right path. I do festivals, so I know what it is like to not hear the song backstage.
It is Thrills,Pills, and Bellyaches.

Happy Mondays - step on.. should be your next song by them when you have the time.. My fav song by them.
This is the soundtrack to my teenage years. Drinking vodka and doing mushrooms in the park with my mates listening to happy mondays.
Bez and Shaun Ryder are a national institution in the UK.The Happy Mondays in the late 80s early 90s the we're huge. Check out Loose Fit by them.
Bez does what Bez does.
Think the back up singer in the navy dress was Shaun Ryder's wife.
What's the difference between Bez and The Three Degrees? There's only 6 Es in The Three Degrees! Boom, boom! Old 90s raver joke!!!
The "yipee yipee aye aye eh" bit is nicked from Lady Marmalade's song...er...i cant remember what it's called.
Patti Labelle sung Lady Marmalade in 1975

Blokes making his opinion and I like him… he is honest even if he’s wrong
When I first started listening to oasis I called it pop… learn and evolve
not a lot of people have heard of madchester don't hate just because he's comparing it to what he knows
