"Thanks For Risking Your Life"
Lewis Black, heir to the George Carlin throne of the comedy rant, and practitioner of his signature blend of frustrated optimism, lets loose again on his familiar punching bags of hypocrites, corporate swindlers, and governmental incompetents. Black doesn’t have set-ups to jokes so much as he has volcanic build-ups, twitchily rumbling up to eruptive punch lines. Black performed this set just days after the rest of the country shut down (the show was allowed to go on because it was in a sovereign Native American venue), so his commentary covers our current Corona-induced anxiety and his own hilarious frustration over The-Orange-One-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Lewis Black doesn’t take political sides; whether he’s exposing the wide-spread systemic failures of both parties, or pin-pointing the micro-stupidities within pop culture, commensurate rage is jettisoned in favor of deploying an overwhelming force of comic condemnation, punctuated by his ever-present arsenal of F-Bombs.

I agree with you with the exception of guns. Australia and England have largely banned private firearm ownership and have nowhere near the freedoms we have. They still have the same issues in terms of violent crime (obviously without firearms) inanimate objects cannot be blamed for societies failure. The people in that society are what’s contributing to the failure

Corruption permeates both; too much big donor money being spent on advertising and lobbyists instead of accountability for serving 'We the People' who fund the damn thing. Still, I'll side with what we have and NOT an autocracy/theocracy.

Getting serious here for a moment, a perspective from Sydney, Australia. I'm a semi-regular visitor. My wife & I go for the skiing, which we love. It's so far to come that we always include a road trip for 10 days or so, and it's always fascinating. Sadly, as with many of our friends and others we see see online, there are no plans to re-visit any time soon. Why, you ask? Because we prefer to come home in an aircraft seat, rather than in a long wooden box in the aircraft's luggage area. And until you do something about your ridiculous obsession with guns and your need to kill 40,000 - 40,000!!! people each year with them, it will be a while before we return. You have no idea how people in other countries view this. Check out Jim Jeffries. It may be safer having a holiday in Beirut right now.
