- Susan Tilson as Eponine
[EPONINE]
And now I'm all alone again nowhere to go
No one to turn to
Without a home, without a friend
Without a face so say hello to
And now the night is near
Now I can make believe he's here
Sometimes I walk alone at night
When everybody else is sleeping
I think of him and then I'm happy
With the company I'm keeping
The city goes to bed
And I can live inside my head
On my own, pretending he's beside me
All alone, I walk with him 'til morning
Without him, I feel his arms around me
And when I lose my way I close my eyes
And he has found me
In the rain, the pavement shines like silver
All the lights are misty in the river
In the darkness, the trees are full of starlight
And all I see is him and me forever
And forever
And I know it's only in my mind
That I'm talking to myself and not to him
And although I know that he is blind
Still I say, there's a way for us
I love him, but when the night is over
He is gone, the river's just a river
Without him, the world around me changes
The trees are bare and everywhere
The streets are full of strangers
I love him, but every day I'm learning
All my life, I've only been pretending
Without me, his world would go on turning
A world that's full of happiness
That I have never known
I love him...
I love him...
I love him...
But only on my own
What a unique voice! Wowzah! One of the best and so affecting an interpretation
I've been searching for at least an audio of Susan Tilson's Eponine for ages now and here she is on very clear video giving a stunning performance. Thank you for sharing!
You obviously have the same affection I do for this particular production. Glad you're enjoying the clips.
Re Susan Tilson: Have you ever seen or heard anything about her after this production? I've been looking but haven't found anything.
OMG, me too... the first time I saw her was at the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago in 1991 on tour...her voice at the end of this song rang in the rafters for what seemed like an eternity as she gifted this song to the audience with this voice and portrayal of such an intense character... THANK YOU, for posting this!!!
I’ve never heard of this Eponine before! A wonderful version! Thanks for uploading. Fun fact this is the year before I was born!
I just realized that one part is missing from what I thought was the full show uploaded...the forming of the barricades right after this song. On cast recordings it's usually named "At the Barricade." Any chance that could be uploaded? I would appreciate it so much.
It's there now. I never posted it before because that clip has always bugged me a little; the lighting was so dark, the barricade can hardly be seen until after it's formed and the students run on stage. But the audio is perfect :)
This is so good. I love her rendition! Can you upload more from this show? Pardon my ignorance, is this from Broadway or West End? THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
Click on my Playlist .. Les Miserables 1991 .. and you will see there are many clips posted. The video was shot on the First National Tour (Valjean Company).
@@ACMallet thanks for the information. I enjoyed all of your les miz uploads. :)
Lea is the best evermore
Any chance of uploading “Dog Eats Dog”? That’s an incredible number and one of the most breathtaking staging/effects-wise.
Done.
