    Bunk beds are great for storage. If each person has a bunk bed they can keep their gear off the floor for protection and it frees up space.

    You need a floor as a vapor barrier and to keep cold air out. I use to hike in the Adirondack Mountains at -40°. The floor will help the tent stay dryer, cleaner and warmer. Lay a tarp down first to separate the ground from the floor. Staying dry is very important.

      Hey Thomas - floor or no floor - that is the question. I find no floor works best for me over the many years of winter camping but it's a preference! 👍

    Ha! This is so funny. My Brother and I were in the Abbotsford Cabela's today for the Boxing Day sale. First thing we checked out was the smaller version of this shelter that was set up just inside the entrance. Now here I see it in your video.
    Enjoyed it. Thanks. 😃👍

    If you are going to move up a size in your stove, I would suggest the Winnerwell (lge). It's heavier, excellent quality, and easily will give you a 4hr burn, and it will take larger firewood. I have one and love it. It has glass on three sides so really adds to the atmosphere in the tent. It's not a backpacking stove, but if using a quad, side x side, etc, it's an excellent piece of kit.

      Thanks for the tip! I've always liked the Winnerwell stoves!! This tent is not exactly portable unless you have mechanical transport so the Winnerwell would be perfect! 👍

      I got a Eskimo single, I took it to Isabella known for wind, 40-50 mph winds all the tents quit and a few campers. It was so sturdy the out pan for snow allowed rocks to help hold down. All people need one of these ice fishing tents minimum. Should be first tent for car camping

    to get a longer sustained heat source for your stove ... use clay tablets a few inches thick ... to radiate heat ... placed under the fire box is a good place ... also it can be used as a warming tray ...

    Here’s a tip :
    Buy some 4 hour burn
    Dura Logs to burn at night
    They work well In those smaller stoves
    For sleeping and staying burning longer
    Not quite as Hot but better then going out or feeding
    Every 2 hours .
    Give them a try let me know what you think 🤔

    • @TheEmporiumOutdoors
      @TheEmporiumOutdoors  8 місяців тому

      Hi Daniel - You are right!! I should grab some to try, and measure how long they last. Unfortunately where I camp is Boreal forest and its mostly softwoods. If I had beech or oak logs they would burn a good amount longer than pine 👍

    Four season tents have a high tolerance to wind and snow, how does this tent do in such conditions?

    • @TheEmporiumOutdoors
      @TheEmporiumOutdoors  8 місяців тому +1

      Very strong as it is designed for fishing on exposed lakes. Each panel has a dedicated strap that can be anchored down to the ice or ground. My only concern would be heavy snow loading on the roof panels but this can be mitigated by adding a pole to support them or clearing them so they don't load up.
